When wearing the KEEN Newport Sandals, a secure-strap design ensures a comfortable fit that is fully adjusted to the width and profile of your foot, with a metatomical EVA footbed, which has been anatomically designed with emphasis on the first metatarsal. The rubber outsole also features a thick and hardwearing lug pattern to optimise traction over a range of terrains with razor siping providing perfect traction over slicker surfaces. For a simplistic and customised fit, a simple bungee lace system works on the go, allowing the sandal to be fastened and secured in a second. Please note, KEEN recommend ordering a size 1/2 larger than your usual size. Care instructions All KEEN water sandals are machine washable. They have also taken great care to develop leather uppers that will not crack, shrink or stretch when washed, so even KEEN leather Newport sandals are machine washable. Use a small amount of detergent, wash on a gentle cycle and air dry.

These are the best and most comfortable pair of outdoor sandals I've ever owned; it's a shame however that the stitching came undone on the right shoe and started falling apart in just a couple of months.Warranty claim submitted- This is where things go south, I have 3 pairs of Keen's including this pair of sandals and they are ALL having serious quality issues in less than a year from purchase.Warranty claim was approved by Keen for these sandals - but only after I called REI and had them email me my purchase history to use as proof of purchase.HONESTLY - Who keeps the receipt for every item they purchase for over a year?..... Decent sandals. Not used to the closed toe version, corded version instead of the strap version/Wear 11.5 Mens but ordered 11 and 11.5. Size 11 fit but there hardly any toe room as it touched the top of the toe box. Size 11.5 fits also but toe box is Very room, almost Too roomy. The Newport sandal, according to Keen, has a Wide Toe box design so it'll take time to get used to.Cons:1. NO arch support- Have flat fee and wear orthotics so know that many, if not All, sandals do NOT have any arch support. The Newport is no different.- Is roomy enough to insert orthotics though it's not as comfortable with sandals.2. Stretchable cord takes time to get used to.- There is NO extra cord included, considering the high price!3. Not 'Made in America' but somewhere in ... Keen quality has declined over the years. I bought my first pair of H2s over 20 years ago and still have them. They are indestructible. I liked them so much I bought a second pair. They lasted a few years, but I assumed I wore them hard and this was typical wear and tear. Went back to wearing my original pair. Decided once again to buy another pair in 2021. They lasted a summer before the heel/side stitching came apart (similar to what you see in other posts) I really hope Keen can improve the quality of their product. At this point I will not be buying keen again.

OK, so when I got these I was really skeptical. I do a lot of fly fishing and when you have to move up and down steep banks along a river or lake I wanted to make sure that these would have enough grip and support to keep me on my feet. I also wanted them to deal with the water like a champ if they got wet. Well...I am sold. They have wonderful support and traction. And, if you get them wet, they dry really fast! Best of all, when they are soaked your feet do not slide around at all!Only one word of caution. The first time you put them on they are going to be tight. That is a good thing...they need to be. However, it can be a little frustrating the first time you do it. Here is the key: Put the shoe on the ground and push your toes all the way in as far as they ... I recently bought a new 2nd pair of Keen H2 Sandals. My originals are > 10 years old, I have enjoyed these as a swim team deck official, hiker, lake person, for casual use around town, who wore the soles out of my original H2's. I experienced the smell, my feet sweat. This was easily cleaned with Soft Soap, old tooth brush to scrub the inside footbed then drying in the sun. These are surprisingly warm for chilly evenings in the Adirondacks. The arch support, overall comfort, traction is a key aspect of why I'm back for another pair. I'm back for pair #2 because this is a quality product that has terrific traction, comfort, durability. I'm a fan of the toe box. This is an awesome go shoe for summer fun active wear.Back Country saved me $33 vs. buying on Amazon or from Keen. Thank you Back Country, my go to outer wear supplier.
My latest pair of these after 5+ years of the previous ones. The leather model has an improved design that should avoid the failure mode of the previous ones (stretch seam at the ankle). I initially went a size up based on reviews here, but switched back to my normal size 12. My feet are of average width with some idiosyncratic fit, but the toe box and forefoot have plenty of room in the right size and the rear fit is closer, which increases confidence scrambling around uneven terrain. The size up always felt like my heel or ankle would slide/roll.Even this early in the season, these are my go-to footwear. They will be first choice for travel this summer.
I got my fist pair of Keens because even trying on the Newport H2 in the store, the footbed was a great match for my foot and felt really comfy. They did run small; (and I've found this is very consistent with all of the Keen sandals I've tried) I usually wear a 10 to 10.5 but the 10.5 was clearly too short for me so I wear an 11 in Keen.I have had miles of wear on these sandals and the have remained very comfortable with or without socks. I've really enjoyed them and am about to buy a new pair. However I'm going with the Newport leathers this time to avoid a specific failure point with the H2.On both of my sandals, the stitching that attaches the heel strap on the outside has blown out. I've really enjoyed them and am about to buy a new pair. However I'm going with the Newport leathers this time to avoid a specific failure point with the H2.On both of my sandals, the stitching that attaches the heel strap on the outside has blown out. Once this happens, the thin fabric liner is the only thing holding the heel strap on, and this doesn't last long on its own. I sewed it back together myself and got some more wear out of it but it's blown out again. Seems like pulling the sandal open to get my foot in and out is what really stresses this. To my thinking it's a design flaw. If the mesh strap went farther up under the tab that it's sewn to, so that it could have two or three rows of stitching instead of just one, this would be fixed. Now as I say, I did get lots of mileage out of these sandals, but it's disappointing that this ruins them when the rest of the uppers are still in close to perfect condition and the soles still have treads. If not for this I could wear this pair for at least two or three more years. Even the laces outlasted that stitching. So fix that issue and they get 5 stars. Meanwhile, the Newport leathers have more of a one piece heel so I'm thinking they will not have the same failure.
As most have indicated on their reviews, these sandals have a stitching flaw that makes the sandal useless. Unfortunately I only wear my Keen sandals up in the Boundary Waters so the 2nd year I try to wear them, the stitching comes out completely on the left heel making it impossible to portage with a canoe. I didn't think much of it at the time because I purchased from REI and new they had great customer service. Boy was I wrong. Within the verbiage of the fine print, anything purchase more than 365 days is no longer under warranty, even though it is clearly a defect. I could understand if I wore these down to the bone and then the stitching came out but this happened on the 7th day I ever wore these.
I've worn Newports for years, and they used to last. Then, I bought a pair in about February of 2021 and had the toe box completely separate from the shoe in less than 6 months. I mean it came right off. We were going to be traveling for the winter beginning October of 2021 and so I ran right out and bought a new pair, figuring it was a fluke. Now, I will admit, I used this second pair pretty hard. We were in the southwest, so whenever I wasn't hiking in my Keen boots (which also had a major issue with weird pressure points due to the way the stitching and side support strips bulged into the shoe) I was wearing the sandals. I used them while mountain biking as well. This time in less than 6 months the stitching around the rear side (where the Keen logo is) ... MoreI've worn Newports for years, and they used to last. I used them while mountain biking as well. This time in less than 6 months the stitching around the rear side (where the Keen logo is) completely failed...on both shoes. We had to hand stitch them back together just to keep them functional. I swore that was it, I was done with the Keen brand. I've spent the summer trying to find something comparable in Merrells or Tevas, a closed toe non-leather sandal. Nothing available in my size (Covid got 'em, like everything else) We are leaving for the SW again on October 1, so I guess I'm going to have to hold my nose and buy yet another pair of Keens. They are comfortable, but the quality sucks, especially for $130! Corporate take note...I am taking a time stamped photo of the new shoes, and if they fail prematurely, I am sending them back and demanding my money back. Get with the program and fix the quality issues.
