These are real great sandals, and they are well built and very comfortable. I've never owned any sandals quite like these so I didn't know what to expect. I had read that you should buy a size larger and you really should because these are designed to fit tight and really grab your feet. You can't wear socks with them unless you go up two sizes. I purchased these to use when I sail because of the open webbing and the grip of the shoes. These would be great on the beach, hiking in the summer or anywhere where you need to have a tough sandal that can get wet and still keep going.

I bought these sandals for the flexible, mesh design and the arched footbed since I have a high arch. I have been using it for a about a month. It is flexible, looks really good and has decent arch support. It is not really meant for hiking. I wear it around town and it might be ok to walk on more gravel trails that are relatively flat for a short distances. They are comfort sandals. I haven't tried it in water but I would think they might get heavier once the cords get soaked. The mesh design gets a lot of looks and compliments, since it is unique. Yes, the sole is a different color but it works with this sandal. It has very good traction on indoor and outdoor surfaces. More than sufficient for casual short walks/hikes.

I bought these shoes for my husband, he tends to walk on the back of his shoes, and that's very unattractive. So I figured that if he gets shoes that are vented all around, he would keep his feet inside them, and he does. They also makes his feet look smaller. He loves them and I love them. It's a win win all around.
First, these are great sandals. Don't get me wrong, I love the sandals, but they are missing some key features. They are bad sandals for people who suffer from CRS disease. CRS (can't remember $#!+) affects those who are careless, clumsy or both.As a result of my CRS disease, I love the sandals in a hotel on the business trip. I called the hotel afterwards but the hotel staff claims they cannot find the sandals. Right now I'm sure some lucky men's size 10, sandal stealer is hanging out by the pool on this hot summer solstice day wearing my sandals. If that is the case I'm sure this person is enjoying the fact the sandals easily slip on and off, and the breeze you get on your tootsies because of the mesh network of bungee that holds the sandal snug on your foot. I hope this nefarious shoe swindler realizes these sandals run a little small and that he or she should order a half size larger if they'd like to legally purchase the shoe after I track them down Liam Neeson style.Advice to KEEN: Future versions of the shoe might come with GPS capability. With GPS capability I might know which pool the sandal stealer is hanging out at. I might offer a sixer of Corona as a trade as long as the thief's feet are disease free. Future versions of the shoe might also come with Bluetooth capability. With Bluetooth, my phone might buzz if I walk away from them too far. Future versions of the shumai also come with and autonomous feature. With an autonomous feature, I might instructed the shoes via the electric Internets to walk their way back to my house.
These sandals are perfect for hiking and traveling. I just returned from backpacking through Thailand and Indonesia and wasn't sure if these sandals would be enough. Man was I wrong! They handled everything from trekking in Northern Thailand jungles, to hiking up and down the rice terraces in Bali, to swimming in the ocean, and protecting my feet from broken glass on Koh Phangan. They are light, they are easily washable and kept my feet secure as I was climbing pretty steep rocks. If you are limited to a backpack as I was and can only bring one pair of shoes, these are the ones to bring!!
Love the style, but the shoe was too small by far. I have 12.5 size feet. I can fit in some size 12 shoes and some 13 shoes. I ordered these in 12, since 13 was not available. I was excited and hopeful when they arrived. Sadly, they were way too small. I couldn't even get my foot into them. I expected some give based on the style-- but none at all. I'm giving them 3 stars for the style and the ease of return.
Overall I really like the sandal. I have to tell you that if you are thinking of ordering them, plan on ordering one full size up. I am, and always have been, a true size 11 foot. I worked thru a pair of 11's; 11.5's and finally found a size 12 was what I needed (I have never owned a size 12 in my life). They are light weight, comfortable - a little more comfortable at the start with socks as the tongue on one foot kind of rubs on the top of my foot. Interestingly, they are actually sort of warm on my feet. If the wind blows it cools down your feet, but I wouldn't hesitate to wear them in cooler (like 50's) temps. They look cool and the first day I wore them I got a compliment from a stranger on a shuttle bus. The most important thing to know about is the sizing. ... MoreOverall I really like the sandal. I like the fit and the foot-bed. The hard rubber soles are a little noisy and slick on hard surface flooring. The open weave allows good ventilation, and does a good job of securing the sole to the foot. Above the sole, the weave gives the sandal's body a nice shape; but, bulky and lumpy, the weave seems to look a little uneven and lumpy as it runs around the foot. Distributing pressure of laces over the top of the foot, the "tongue" is important, but it looks awkward from the top, while the laces can be a little uncomfortable. Otherwise, these sandals look and feel awesome, and I'm still testing their limits, and trying to visualize where they can fit in a mix of casual, water, running, and walking shoes, and hiking boots.(Sizing is between extremes that I wear. ... MoreI like the fit and the foot-bed. I got these for vacation to JA and I started wearing them before I even got there!! They have Quickly become my “go to” pair of sandals. They are really comfortable walking long distances. Everywhere I go people ask about them. Solid buy! I could see these being a problem with someone with very wide/fat feet.
