The Price is what it is! The build and sound quality is high, so a real winning one-of-a-kind product "BUT" only as good as what your feed them with. These speakers are very reveling and unforgiving, if you play or stream a bad recording/signal. At 64y/o set-up was "NOT" simple as you scan a code to open an APP for instructions but I'm not of the modern age, but you better have a smart SMART Phone as is the fashion for APP Everything. I bought these smart speakers for my computer use wall mounting them on homemade shelfs as too tight to buy the dedicated wall mounts (That I don't think would take the weight?) So yes watching a high-quality video the sound and sound stage is Holographic! I don't pay for a streaming service but the free one/s are well catered for. Internet Radio is another big plus for me and I'm still exploring the world of 7,000 stations. Using them for you TV sound would be amazing so with the music streaming feature, much better than a Soundbar. Quality is everything, and they will cover 90% of all your requirements but they do make a bigger model! All except Red and White have a fabric covering so cleaning could be troublesome? And both speakers need mains electric power supply but are not power hungry and near to nothing on standby like all modern products. On line video reviews should answer all your questions and show the setting up procedure.

I purchased these 2 months ago and would like to share my experience. I have using them on a desktop for near field listening connected via USB to a Mac Studio Computer. In this scenario, at their default setting, they have a larger than expected soundstage with a smooth and slightly shy treble. After a couple of weeks I notice an improvement in the resolution of finer details and a more extended bass response. I have not found the need to add a subwoofer. A big reason for me to keep these is that the KEF mobile App can be loaded to run on a Mac desktop computer and kept in a minimised window on my monitor. On fairly regular occasions the KEF app becomes unresponsive and cannot find the speaker, the only way to restore this is to reset and reconfigure the speaker. ... MoreI purchased these 2 months ago and would like to share my experience. The only KEF music selection that I have tried is the Network setting, the interface is extremely basic compared to native Apps. I have awarded 5 stars, but would have knocked off half a star for the App issues.

Bought these speakers a couple of weeks ago (thanks to Alan in the Holborn branch for his advice and great service!). Very happy so far. They are very compact but feel substantial, look good and are obviously a quality build. The sound is excellent for such a small pair of speakers, with plenty of bass and nice detail of sound overall. I got the LX II model which operate wirelessly so no need for a physical wire between the speakers so it's a more flexible option if you want to split them in a room (note: both do need to be plugged in to a power source), There is also a cheaper model (LST II LT) which requires a physical wire between the speakers but only one speaker connected to a power source if you prefer that congfig. These replaced an AV receiver and stereo speakers for TV duty in a medium-sized study. Along with a third-party sub, these easily fill the room. They sound great with movies and music connected to the TV’s optical connection using an Apple TV 4k as a source. They do not sound much different than the previous AVR/passive speaker combo except for movie dialogue, which I think is better with the LSXII’s. I would consider these too large for desktop speakers and too small for a large den or media room. Just right for a 250sqft room, though. I have not tried streaming from the KEF Connect app. AirPlay works fine. They wake on WiFi and you can set them to wake on a second source. An optical signal will not automatically switch the source. Other reviewers may be able to comment on source-switching with HDMI. Expensive, but I could not find any other set of active speakers with the connection options and good looks of the LSXII. They are not your typical sharp-cornered black boxes. Setup was easy and the app is great for integrating a sub with independent high and low-pass frequencies. They sound fine without the sub…plenty of bass for music though you may want more for movies. The stands are also expensive, but very sturdy with a threaded connection to the speakers. If you don’t mind the price, you will not be disappointed with these speakers in all but the largest spaces.
I set up the speakers today. They are a quality product and I am very happy with my purchase. The detail in the sound reproduction is a a joy to listen to. Don't be fooled into thinking that the connection with your wi-fi is straightforward. I downloaded the user manual but I confess I struggled. But persevere. It is worth it in the end. I also found that I was unable to listen to the speakers yesterday because, like many consumer products these days, the mains cable was not long enough and I had to wait until today to purchase an extension lead! I could write more but I want to get back to listening to my new speakers.

Then changed course and tried to get LSX II Wireless. LSX II Wireless doesn't have meta material technology, it does have integrated DAC, 70 watt and 30 watt amplifiers for midrange and tweeter respectively. Integration with all wireless streaming services. Optical input and HDMI ARC, as well as analog in. The LS50 Meta's would have needed a matching quality amplifier to be best utilized, like a Macintosh, which I don't' have. So the smaller, wireless, self powered LSX II Wireless can be used in lots of places. Color is red, which demands attention, but might not match all decors. I didn't want the fabric versions.Set them up at my house, only a few iterations of ethernet and wifi configs with KEF app and required Google Home app. I brought them over to friend's house, set them up on his internet, a few more iterations of cable and wifi configuration challenges. Then brought them back to my house, and tried to set them up again, and was not successful. The requirement for android users to use all the cables, wifi, apps and especially Google Home (which sucks) make me figure I never want to have to deal with them again. Not ready for prime time if you are moving them around to different internet places. Sound is good, design is good (probably 30% of the costs), interaction with Beezer, Tidal, Qobuz all good. (I like Qobuz best for price/performance).
Under 5 minutes to full functioning proper hi fi. Open box, plug into mains, download app, sign in and play music with an actual stereo image. There is no Silicon Valley single box substitute for 2 channel music especially if you have a proper listening position in the room. These went into a bedroom after the Sonos gathered dust. It’s a good trade off in terms of size and as the harmonic content of say a double bass is intact, so the feel of the instrument is tangible despite the driver being unable to punch out the lowest sounds. Or add a sub. So far, no listening fatigue. Cloth panels quite cosy looking and offset the bling drivers while providing cats with somewhere to sit. The Black Friday price is solid hi fi value - you get 4 amps, 4 dacs, dsp, 4 drivers, a music streamer, a sub out, analog in etc etc. And best of all for me a Roon endpoint and no cables other than mains. In terms of ‘lifestyle’ look & convenience/size/sound the Kef’s closest competitor is the £1k PSBs that run Blu OS and are worth auditioning (slightly different sound signature) but were just a bit shiny for a bedroom.
Excellent hifi grade speakers. Versatile and have many solutions incorporated into them. They would be great for a desktop solution, but I bought them for my office TV/multimedia setup. I have HDMI to the TV, optical to my CD player, and run my phono preamp to the aux input. Yes, the aux input bypasses the internal dac, however the other inputs don't have that option. That said, the internal dac and amplification (both speakers have their own isolated amplification and power cables) are fantastic. Not to mention Spotify and Tidal Connect.Changing inputs happens with the remote, I don't mind using it and quickly panning left and right to select the input (LED indicators on the main speaker). This to me, this product is a no brainer over a soundbar system, or a ... MoreExcellent hifi grade speakers. Love the KEF Products - lots of quality of life here.I also purchased the matching stands for cable management, I included some phots.
I wanted to upgrade a pair of Sonos Play 3's that sit in our kitchen/living area and had been looking at the KEF LSX's for a while but was torn as to whether I should get these or the LS50's.Called Richer Sounds Bloomsbury to discuss and then popped in for a demo of both models. Alan was very helpful indeed and helped me get to a good decision based on where the speakers would be placed and also listened to.So got the KEF LSX's and they sound great and live up to the great reviews - quite incredible for the size they are. Appreciate many may use them as desktop speakers but they are currently easily filling a 30m squared room with great sound. Without a doubt a serious audio upgrade on the Play 3's.Granted that the LS50's sound better as you would expect for ... MoreI wanted to upgrade a pair of Sonos Play 3's that sit in our kitchen/living area and had been looking at the KEF LSX's for a while but was torn as to whether I should get these or the LS50's.Called Richer Sounds Bloomsbury to discuss and then popped in for a demo of both models. Not being an audiophile, I invested in these particular KEF LSX 11 active speakers because of their size and wireless concept of listening to music with minimal clutter. The (Soundwave) model is also aesthetically very pleasing and would adorn most rooms. It is the key interface in setting up and controlling the speakers and I found it relatively easy to use and later preferred it to the supplied remote control, which works well but only has certain functions.Setting up is clearly explained if you follow the prompts and only takes a few minutes.I initially connected my turntable to the speakers via Bluetooth and the quality of sound was amazing.Wifi is also a feature that links to various streaming services (Tidal was available on a 90 day free trial) that deliver music seamlessly through the KEF App.KEF recommend using a 5GHz setting on your router if you get any problems with the 2.5Ghz dropping out (as it did several times) but converting my router was a doddle and a quick press of the re-set button on the speakers allowed me to select the 5GHz address and that has solved the issue.Tidal have some MQA audio music files but to take full advantage of them you might want to wire your two KEF speakers together with the supplied lead but the outcome is truly rewarding. The speakers also allow me to listen to my favourite radio station (which I can only get on the internet) using ‘Apple Air Play’ from my phone or iPad via the WiFi function.Out of curiosity, I also purchase a RCA to Aux cable to play my records as an alternative to Bluetooth. The quality of the sound is marginally better but both methods work seamlessly through the KEF App.I am also aware there are connections for the TV, CD Player, Computer and a Subwoofer but I have not yet used these but the evidence so far suggests the sound will be amazing as well. Are they worth the investment? Difficult to answer as we will all have different opinions and expectations. They are a small, powerful, quality speaker, extremely versatile, look fantastic and their output is truly outstanding and I am thankful for the help Richer Sounds Plymouth (Bradley, Josh and Jamie) provided in demonstrating and procuring these for me. I would not want to be without them.
