I dont like the sound near the screen but everywhere in the room. This setup does the job. Accuracy is rediculous. 750s are so spatial sounds like the center is on when it's just the 2 speakers in stereo. These are paired with Paradigm v12 difiance sub, but Im sure the kef cube would do just as well. Kef delivers wonderful accurate sound reproduction with subdued highs, not overpowering like other brands, everything is there, but its not an "in your face" overdone speaker. B ans Os and Klipsch are great but too much blasting highs for me, listen to them all, it's all about personal preference. This is British audiophile sound at its best!!Cons: purchase of metal saucers to protect floors from spikes, but you get much better sound with these elevated off the floor in the stands. Make sure you position these ar least 2 feet from any adjacent walls. Had to buy the grills separately.

Being an audiophile, I was really looking forward to KEF’s new release of their Q series speakers and upgrading my current sound. The previous floor standing speakers we had in our movie room had dual 10” drivers with large horn tweeters so I had some doubt the KEFs would stand up against that amount of deep bass and power. I have owned KEFs before many years ago. One of the things that has always set them aside is the location of the tweeter being in the middle of the driver which produces multiple frequencies coming from the same location. Out of the box, the KEFs look absolutely stunning and high end with the European Walnut wood finish along with the exposed speakers down the entire cabinet; no, these do NOT come with speaker grills or covers which was a concern ... MoreBeing an audiophile, I was really looking forward to KEF’s new release of their Q series speakers and upgrading my current sound. After setting them up in place of my pre existing speakers using banana plugs, I decided to first try them out with several music genres. I turned off my other speakers and selected stereo sound to isolate the KEFs. I sat directly in the middle of room about ten feet away from the speakers and initially thought my center channel was still on; that was not the case after checking. I found it amazing that I was not able to pinpoint where the sound was coming from with my eyes closed and thought my other speakers in the room were still on. I then decided to switch to action movies with lots of special effect sounds and switched back to Dolby EX 5.1 surround sound. I immediately could tell the difference from my previous high end speakers as the sound was much more crisp while still providing plenty of low end with the 6 ½” drivers. Although not as much low end bass was being provided compared to four 10” drivers, pairing the KEFs with a subwoofer was plenty of sound for our movie room with 120” 4k projector. I ultimately purchased the separate speaker grills to attempt to protect my investment however do prefer the speakers being exposed because of how amazing they look. These are by far the best sounding speakers I have owned and would recommend these to any other audiophiles out there looking for amazing sound paired with beautiful aesthetics at a reasonable price.

Lover of higher end quality products.KEF is not a brand everyone knows about. But those who do understand they hold weight in the audio industry. They hold their value as well. The KEF Uni-Q family of speakers are considered the value end of the spectrum. But they are far from budget. These speakers are high end and hifi if I’ve ever heard. The 4 driver design looks classy yet simplistic. But put out beautiful music/movie sound(use with projector). Sharp and crisp highs. They handle soo much sound that you wish these speakers 4 drivers were all uni-Q drivers. But the one is plenty. 2 speakers are active 2 are passive radiators I believe. ... MoreThis is the second pair of hifi speakers I’ve had. Mids or vocals are clear. Not overly done. But balanced and punchy. You can hear every word clearly. The one part I would say that isn’t perfect is the bass. While great isn’t perfect in my opinion. I would say it’s strong but not as low as I like. But I’m running currently as a 2.0 set up. I’m used to an external sub. So that’s why. Still very very happy and border line in love.I love the cabinet in the walnut finish. I didn’t think I would love it as much. Because I’m an old school guy who loves everything black. But it’s real and lovely. Helps with the sound quality as well. These speakers do come with the sound saving bases which are very easy to install. Took me about 10 mins to install and adjust the height and level to my liking.I’m using 14 gauge pure copper oxygen free speaker wire without banana clips. And that’s perfect for me. Crystal clear sound. Music is pleasing soo much that I sit and just listen to music for hours. You do. It need to be right in the center. They disperse sound everywhere .Pushing these speakers with 125 watt per channel amp and that’s plenty tho these are rated for a little more power is need be.Overall these are the best speakers I’ve had thus far. Fair price point for the quality. You will not be disappointed with these KEF floor stand speakers. Amazing sound and beautiful to look at!Note: speaker grills are not included which is a bit disappointing as well. But not a deal breaker. My kids know not to touch daddy’s stuff.Good luck and happy shopping!

Been using some vintage acoustic research speakers for my L/R mains for many years in a 5.1.2 setup. Finally took the plunge and got these Kefs along with the Q650c centre.Don't have a ton of experience, but I've had chances to experience some higher end setups and understand what to look for.I can say that movie watching experience has been greatly improved. The front soundstage is incredibly crisp and clear without being overly aggressive as to distract from the surround immersion in atmos movies. Dialog is crystal clear.Sound is pretty neutral, and well balanced. Off axis response is definitely better, as in my old setup only the main listening position was really good. Now I can sit pretty much anywhere and it still sounds amazing.Dialog sounds natural and much more discerning when panning between the LCR.Can't comment on bass too much, as I have a dedicated sub which blends in well. Mids and highs are clear thoughFinish is understated, but very modern. I love the metallic looking finish.Overall I am extremely Pleased , and I get why Kef is so highly regarded in the home theatre space. I haven't tried too much stereo music, but so far very happy with the sound. Again, sound stage is very good. And music seems very neutral without a ton of colour. I feel like my older speakers were a bit warmer sounding, but these are just as pleasant to listen to.
I worked around aircraft for many years and have a constant ringing in my ears around 1.5-2Khz. That being said, mid level speakers (>$2K each) Who quality would be beyond my ability to hear. These speaker are my 2-ch application, in a 10x10 open concept room (3 walls only). My source is a Pioneer Elite PD-65 CD Player analog connected to a Pioneer Elite M-72 Power Amp. I only play two genres of music, Jazz and Smooth Jazz, but a variety of categories from brass to vocals to bass guitar. My big mistake, I was need able to hear the KEF Q750 in my listening space. I listened to a Harry Connick Jr piece that had the big band track, lots of trumpets and trombones and the high notes was bright not brittle! Vocals and midrange is spot on. The sound stage is perfect. The low end is crisp and fast. There is a caveat here, in Jazz most of the Instruments lowest frequency is 40 Hz and it does very well reproducing the bass violin. Of course Jazz Organist can bottom the foot pedals out at 12 Hz and the KEF Q750 won’t replay that. So, if you’re going to place the KEF Q750 in a movie environment, you’ll need subwoofers to get the thump of a car explosion. I know that there are many 2-ch applications anymore, but if you have a dedicated music listening space that is small and you are trying to decide on bookshelves with a sub or small floorstanders, get the KEF Q750!
Bass is tight and punchy, mids are neutral and the highs/resolution is exceptionally good for a speaker at this price-point! Example, when listening to John Mayers - Gravity live (where the light is) you can hear the 60hz cycle noise from the lights/equipment/amps etc on stage as if he was playing 6 feet in front of you. With other speakers/headphones you may pickup a fraction of this detail in the song but nowhere clear as the Q750's.Massive sound-stage and pinpoint imaging. They throw an amazing holographic/3d sound-stage, sometimes it feels like i left my surround sound on when i'm playing 2.0 channels. (placement is crucial here though)They really love/shine with quality power (150w +) but they do an adequate job with 80w as long as you're not pushing the ... MoreBass is tight and punchy, mids are neutral and the highs/resolution is exceptionally good for a speaker at this price-point! The more/quality power you feed the better it gets with Q750's.Extreme basshead's may want to look at the Q950's but "audiophiles types" will be very contented with the Q750's bass output. I love deep/punchy/clean bass but i wouldn't consider myself a "bass-head" and the Q750 makes me smile! This is the most balanced/neutral speaker i have ever listened to and i mean that in a positive way. The Q750 won't add color to your sound and are true to the recording.overall i'm 100% satisfied with these and can't wait to add a couple mono-block amplifiers behind them!
I decided that I wanted to upgrade my five front speakers from the 10-12 year old Cantons I was using.I also decided that I wanted a "matched set" with similar drivers for my five front speakers in the hope of getting a larger soundstage and better imaging. I decided to buy a pair of KEF Q750's, a pair of Q50a Atmos Toppers and a Q650c center channel speaker.Driven by my Marantz 7010 receiver and 7055 power amp I could not be happier with the results. Everything is crystal clear. The soundstage fills the entire front wall of my 14ft x 12ft room. Even my "I could care a less" girlfriend says she can here big differences.I cannot recommend these speakers highly enough. I think one would need to spend substantially more money to beat them.
These KEF 750Q's floor standing speakers are considered entry level into high-end audio. But believe me when I tell you they can hold their own vs speakers costing twice as much. The sound these speakers are capable of reproducing is brilliant.I can not recommend these enough at this price point. They deliver crystal clear highs and mids. The bass is tight and punchy. They do lack that super low bass that some people love. But for me they are perfection. And the build quality is just as good as the sound.I love the European walnut finish. And the adjustable legs. But when in use for the best sound you won't want these on any ways.I'm still breaking these in but all around happy with them from listening to music to movie night. These are a great quality speaker. If you are looking for high end audio you will find it in these.Trust me your ears will thank you.
Upgrading from an outstanding passive Boston Acoustics soundbar to these, paired with the Q250c center channel speaker, powered by the Pioneer VSX-LX 505. So far, for movies I've been very impressed, great stage presence and separation. For music I'm still playing with the set up, going from small to large on the receiver and while I can tell the difference, the problem is that I like'em both, small w/ sub and large without, they're that good!If you research these speakers, you know the only complaints about them are the rigger feet (yes, it is true, they're ugly!) and the lack of accessories that should be included with them (i.e rubber feet for tile & wood floors and the magnetic grills). Just wrong that KEF is nickel & diming customers. I know what sounds good to me may not sound good to others but I am Not sure why these received the reviews they did? The highs are less than desirable. They are quite bright at times. The low end is meh. Remember, only one of the 6.5 woofers is active and the other two are passive. Midrange is kind of dull on them. Used them for 50/50 stereo music and movies. Had them hooked up to my NAD T758 V3i and ran Dirac Live. Also it’s odd that a speaker at this price point has plastic legs. It cheapens them I feel. The cabinet is also, shall we say very lively. I guess they may use the cabinet to help produce some low end?My Elac towers have the same concentric design as the KEF and they are much smoother on the high end and midrange and they also stomp all over the KEF in ... MoreI know what sounds good to me may not sound good to others but I am Not sure why these received the reviews they did?
