Kensington SD1610P USB-C Mobile Dock

This is a handy mobile doc for my new Surface i7. The dock is well priced comparing it with the Microsoft equivalent.The only negative is that if I have the monitor port in use, I can't access the HDMI port. I'm using a new AOC monitor & it seems to apply to all monitor plugs fitting too close to the HDMI port.

The cord connecting the docking station to the laptop is really really short. Before you buy this, you should factor in the need to buy a USB C extender cord. But based on the pricing compared to the Microsoft version of the product, it's still way cheaper to get the Kensington model and an extender.Beyond that, some of the ports are a little close together, you may not be able to make use of all of the ports depending on your cables.

Brilliant service, awesome product. The vga port is really close to the hdmi port so you cannot use these two ports at the same time.

This gadget did the trick Needed to connect two monitors to my laptop with only one port. This dual docking station was the key. It has its own power, which I guess is key when connecting monitors not all USB ports deliver enough power to connect a monitor. Has tons of extra slots as I add more peripherals but currently it has both monitors, a wifi extender, my mousekeyboard dongle and a speaker attached. Still two slots in front to spare, and two more in the back

Pass through works well, but USB receiver is buggy

When I used a USB receiver for a wireless mouse/keyboard, every time I moved the mouse the video signal went dark. I had a spare USB on my computer and use the dock for just the HDMI and data port, without incident.

Perfect Complement to Surface GO

This dock is worth its price. I tried a cheaper dock and it did not work so well. This dock will allow you to connect a 2nd monitor and also an external hard drive. No hiccups.

Unable to Plug In Two Monitors

As noted in other reviews (which I wish I had seen prior to buying), this docking station can’t accommodate two monitors. If you look at the photo of the ports you’ll see the VGA and HDMI ports are very close together. Every VGA cable I can find has the screw-in tabs on the side so they won’t fit next to the HDMI cable. Quality looks ok but the design is really poor.

Works well and very easy to set up

I bought this twelve months ago and have had no issues with set up and on-going use. Cannot put two monitors which is important to note, the FAQs says it does allow but the connections are too close and an extender doesn't work. If you have one monitor and two laptops (which I have studying/working) it makes life easy to switch.
