there are two buttons. one is "boil", this will heat to 100 and another is "keep warm" using that you can heat to 50,70,80,90 degrees. it will then keep at that temperature for some time. very useful kettle for making teas. have not tried to connect with smartphone. no need so far

It keeps warm very well, even without using the "keep warm" function.Open is big, easy to clean.Noise is OK, not as big as some lower price kettles.It looks simple but elegant.
