I used this cleanser for 3.5 months, my skin health slowly started going downhill. I thought it was because of other factors which is why I continued to use this product for so long. Eventually, I realized that my breakouts started around the same time that I began using this cleanser. Within several days of discontinuing use of this cleanser my face has started to clear up. According to several at home pH tests (I tested a variety of products to verify the relative accuracy of the test) it would seem that this cleanser has an approximate pH of 9.5 (my reading is probably within /- 0.5 accuracy). Human skin has a natural pH of ~5.5 (which is slightly acidic) and this is a factor in the immune system's first line of defense (physical and chemical barriers). This natural acidity of the skin makes the skin an inhospitable environment for harmful bacteria to survive on. Because pH is a logarithmic scale, this cleanser is ~10,000x more basic than the skin's natural pH. This essentially turned my face into a petri dish for bacteria to grow on. I would never recommend this product to anyone. (P.S. Potassium Hydroxide, also known a lye, is an ingredient in this cleanser, so it might be useful for cleaning oily dishes in your kitchen.)

I've used it for years. And as with all Kielhs is an excellent daily cleanser, used as often as you wash your face per day.Beware of the build-up of bacteria under cap!! The product lasts very long as a tiny dab to wet face goes a long way. Remove cap every few days and clean as I clearly have forgotten to do... this build-up is over several weeks during g an extended work trip . As you near the end of the tube (2-3 months), you're going to take the cap off in order to dispense the cream. Sorry for the disgusting image, but now you know.

This oil-free Ultra Facial Cleanser is WONDERFUL! Tonight is my third time using it and from the first use I was impressed. The tube size is very generous, meaning it’ll last a really long time considering a small amount is needed to get an abundance of lather. I use a cellulose round to wash my face to help entire a good, thorough clean. As I’m splashing water onto my face to remove the cleanser my face feels and sounds squeaky clean. My skin looks very clean, bright, and nearly a shade lighter (just kidding!). My skin feels a little tight without feeling stripped, but nothing a nice night time moisturizer can’t remedy. I personally think this is one of the best face washs for taking makeup off. However, it strips you bare. I think if you had oily skin it would increase the oiliness of your skin. I have in-between and it works perfectly. Equally I think dry skin might get a little too dry with this. But...if you want super clean skin, this is a great product!

If you're looking to get a higher end cleanser that will be a good value the ultra facial line is the best!

This cleanser used to come in a travel size, but was discontinued. I've tried all different carriers for it - travel tubes, sample jars - but it just loses a bit of its effectiveness outside of it's original tube. If you're travelling, try to get sealed samplers to take with you for the best results! And travel with the Midnight ... For years I had normal/combination skin, but within the last couple years I started having noticeably oily skin, with breakouts focused around my chin. nothing I tried seemed to be helping it. After some research, I decided on this cleanser and it is the best decision I have made for my skin. It has helped my skin be significantly less oily (less breakouts) and a little bit of the product lathers nicely so it goes a long way.
I have OILY skin in the summer, and pretty normal skin the rest of the year. I have used this for about 2 weeks now and it has made quite the difference in my ACNE PRONE, OILY skin. During the summer, I go from an occasional break out to a severe case of moderate acne--lots of whiteheads and a handful of nodules (the big painful ones that appear under your skin). I used this twice a day (morning and night) and it has done its part to control the acne and treat it. TBH, I am thoroughly surprised it did as much as it does. I am going to keep using this for the summer and probably switch it out for the fall, but come back for it once the temperatures increase again.
