Kilner - Wide Mouth Preserve Jar 500ml

Sturdy jars which I have already used in my canner. Unfortunately, 20% of the Kilner seals that came with the jars failed. I just put the jars in the fridge or freezer for early use. Jars with other seals were fine. I think the seals would be OK for non vacuum purposes. I would/will buy again. 👍

These may be superb for home makers of jam and pickled foods but weren't suitable for my purpose. My friend was very happy with their gift however so all was not lost.

Disappointing

Bought 12 of these and had to return 10 of them. 9 had a defect in the glass which was the same shape & size on each jar, but located in different places. It was a partial depth crack about 1mm deep and 1 inch long, which did not go full depth, but I was afraid it would be a weak spot on the jar that could make it explode under the extreme conditions of pressure canning. The 10th jar did not have this defect, but did have a full depth crack in the screw band on the neck of the jar. So out of 12 jars to only have 2 that were defect free was a great disappointment. I emailed Kilner UK and they said this was not normal for their jars.....

These jars are not easy to find, however this site supplied them and their service has been brilliant. The jars arrived when they said they would. They were very well packed with eco-friendly bubbles. I would like to get replacement wide mouth sealing discs and rings if those are available.

I don't usually write review. It may be only a large jar - I can remember the old fashioned kilner jars. So this is modern improved version. Which is wonderful. Used them last night perfect for the job

Love it

I use it to have an easy and healthy breakfast most mornings. It is very well made; especially love the silicone spill cap. Only "problem" is that the measuring lid can easily spill oats over the sides when pouring in but that's a minimal issue.

Such a Handy Little Jar

This is the best idea ever. We needed a fast way to prepare a healthy breakfast for my husband who is a Fire Fighter. We prep Oats the night before and never forget to add the spoon because there's a perfect place for it. The Lid/Measuring cup works like a charm! Such a great and Healthy idea!

I’m going to use mine for pickling beetroot and I’m going to buy the smaller ones for breakfast oats with fruit. I make 2 at a time and refrigerate so the smaller one will be ideal
