I got this for my 10 year old daughter and she was super excited about it. Started playing with it straight away and digging through the kinetic sand to find the tools.She really liked the hidden dept in the bottom that had more sand for digging and hidden gems.The sand itself is very satisfying to play with too.All in all it took her about 20 mins and then was over. Has replay ability obviously if you put everything back in again, and you can play with the sand afterwards (which she did). But then thatās about it really. A lot easier to just buy some kinetic sand (as thatās what she enjoyed the most) rest was a bit of a gimmick really that didnāt last long.

My son will play with this for hours. It's just simply a good sensory toy in a lot of ways. The only thing that holds it back is the key and the lock, mine is basically not functioning right. The mechanism isn't well made and it just makes it feel like some trashy plastic toy. The key gets stuck and it's hard for me (an adult) to get it out. Just doesn't work (on mine) could I be bothered to waste more time and carbon and plastic shipping it back trying to replace it, no. We just don't use the key but now, and son still has fun with it.

My kids had an amazing time playing with this play set! It kept them entertained for hours and they typically play with this everyday! With 9 treasures to discover they love digging through the sand to find them all. It comes in a lovely presented treasure chest box and the treasures themselves are sturdy and good quality which makes it in my eyes great value for money. We used a tray under it so we didnt lose any of the sand and it was a painless process to clean. My kids loved the sensory nature of the sand too. Hours of fun and a great birthday, Christmas or even just a little treat to play with gift!

They loved finding all the treasure along the way and it blew their minds when there was a hidden compartment underneath!Unfortunately my youngest forced the key in backwards and it's pretty stuck so I've left it in as a "locked treasure" since it's empty inside anyway.One of the steps was to roll a cylinder in the sand for a treasure map but they had no interest in that as they had already figured that the bottom must open.They played with the sand for hours, mostly hiding the gems for each other and were very happy when I brought out a Tupperware to save it for future play. Iām way too old to enjoy this, but the kids & I had a BLAST with this treasure chest! 10 Stars Kinetic Sand Fun!! Itās not big but it is very entertaining, at one point we were in full pirate mode (lol). The sand is packed tight enough that you actually have to dig through it. Keep the instructions handy because their a secret compartment. The main key to the chest can sometimes get stuck but Iāve been able to wiggle it loose. I want them to make bigger versions of this for theā¦kidsā¦yeahā¦the kiddos š
The key gets easily stuck in the ālockā and wonāt open the box. Keep a small, flat head screwdriver handy. It will be needed. Also, I was very disappointed in the actual kinetic sand itself. It was so dry it was almost unusable. And if that wasnāt enough, the gyms, or in a hidden compartment on the bottom of the box. You have to have the gray circular tube to open it. Only you also need that small handy screwdriver as it doesnāt release the way it should. Frustrating for four year old. And a mom on Christmas day.
Rare gold shimmer sand allergic reaction. My son loves kinetic sand and always uses it but when he got this as an Wesley Christmas present he started breaking out in hives. He has never had a reaction to the regular sand only this gold sparkle sand. Heās been breaking out for almost a weak, scratching and getting hives. We finally tossed the gold stuff and heās doing much better now. Buyer beware
My 4 year old son was SO excited to get this. He saved up for weeks to have enough to go pay for it himself... he LOVES the tools and gems it came with and of course LOVES the Kinetic sand BUT it is so so hard for him to open the treasure box itself. It opften frustrates him to the point where I need to take it away for a while to cool off because he can not open and close it like he would like to. If his big sister (6) is not playing with him to help him open it (which even she struggles with too), I usually dont allow him by himself anymore. Minor deisgn flaw but makes a BIG impact for young kids. The positives are it comes with 5-6 gems, fun tools for cutting the sand, and has a secret compartment on the bottom with gold sand, which my son found VERY exciting!
The excitement throughout the house made the children have a fun filled day! There were squeals of joy every time the little guy found another clue or another surprise! All the children joined in from the youngest being a kindergarten tot to the oldest being a teen! They all joined in to have a lot of fun that kept them busy for the afternoon. This product is pretty cool! I love the fact that the sand is non toxic and hypoallergenic, in case a wee bit of sand particles come close to their sensitive face and skin. I even enjoyed touching and molding the sand, myself! Its in a large treasure chest that the children love! It was like I was actually watching them dig for real treasures! I have actively avoided kinetic sand for fear of a very large mess. I was however pleasantly surprised with this product. I opened it with my 5 year old. The treasure chest was funny to open with the hidden key. The sand was quite compact so I made sure to have a cookie sheet near by when opening it to put the sand it while digging. She enjoyed searching for all the accessories. The extra gold sand with gem stones at the bottom of the chest was a nice bonus. It was definitely a product that can be played with over and over. It was also less messier than I anticipated. She kept everything together and it packed up nicely back onto the chest for quick and easy cleanup and storage that doesnt take up much space.
