The stone is actually two different grades mounted back-to-back. Comes with a raised block to hold it securely. Make sure you soak it in water for 15 mins before using. Do your homework on sharpening techniques before using. A great all-purpose stone.

This is the sheet for sharpening any knife. I returned the very expensive pro chef sharpener i bought from here which was useless and cost 3 times the price. This wet stone, is amazing. 5 mins rubbing both sides of the knife and the blade is razor sharp. When the military come door to door to force vaccinate my family, like they are doing in Australia right now, i'll be lopping off limbs left right and centre. They'll lose a few soldiers for sure. Totally recommend this product.

The stone is really easy to use, and is of good quality. It is smaller than regular whetstones but it is good sized and more than enough to sharpen any knife I had at home. 1000 grit side cuts the knife really well, but relatively slow and steady, while the 6000 grit side gives a smooth mirror finish on the edge. Knives were razor sharp after that. The stand stand is decent, it gives you good height off the surface, but you need to be careful not to get it wet, since it starts slipping. It has rubber legs so that's understandable. I think that just a minor inconvenience since it's easy to wipe it off from time to time.

In order not to cut/damage the stone, I am mainly pulling away from cutting edge in one direction , then reverse the knife and do the other side again pulling away from cutting edge.
I'm comparing this product with a non-branded 1000/6000 stone I purchased from eBay. It was like comparing apples to oranges, the King stone is by far superior in every aspect. It took less time on the King stone to form a burr. The 6000 side did a wonderful job of getting the edge to a very clean finish. The exact opposite was the case with the cheaper stone. Yes, the King stone is twice the price, but you only have to buy it once. Save your time and money and skip the temptation to buy cheap. You'll just end up buying another stone afterwards.
The Grit Waterston looks very nice. An elegant piece which can be displayed easily in the kitchen.I purchased it as a gift hence I haven't used it but I am sure it will work very well for sharpening the knife. Safe packed and fast delivery. Thank you!
The king 1000/6000 combination whetstone is a great quality product. and is my favorite kitchen tool. Great price, high quality. Highly recommended.
Very good combination stone. Much better value than the cheaper alternatives (Ive tried many over the years). Its a good size and cuts quickly. Out of the box on mine the 1000 grit side was perfectly flat, the 6000 side was not, but it was quick and easy to flatten on a Norton flattening stone. Sharpens blades very quickly, but is soft and needs regular flattening to keep it in order (use either a flattening stone or sandpaper on a flat surface like thick glass to level it out). Id definitely recommend this king stone.
For my sharpening skill level there is probably no stone that would result in a sharper knife. Can easily get to cutting paper effortlessly, cutting a grape without touching it requires some more practice but surely this stone can get there
