I find Kingston products sturdy and reliable and at reasonable prices ... I once left a Kingston USB Drive in a shirt pocket and put the shirt into the washing machine (I forgot to take the Drive out!) ... the Drive went through the entire wash, spin & dry cycle ... it came out smelling of detergent & softener BUT was not damaged, and I DID NOT lose any data ... Instead, I ended up with a scented Kingston USB Drive! YAY!

Got the 128 GB version. Formatted free space is under 124 GB. Very small size. Very slow, like most of the lower-cost drives available for the past years. I did a test copy of my videos from C drive to the Kyson. Only moved 41.7 MB after 26 mins. I aborted the job. Copying smaller files is faster, almost bearable. The USB port fits extremely tight, afraid it would break something.

I have NEVER had so much trouble trying to insert a USB into a device before. It's shouldn't be humanly possible to make it this awkward....But everything else about it is fine. Lots of space and is durable.

Worst flash drive I ever used. I didn't expect that it is too slow even with 3.2 gen 1. It made my laptop slow whenever I connect it with my laptop it lags and the transferring speed is about 500 kb to 5 mb or 10mb. Even my led doesn't read it. Never buy it looking at the price just ignore otherwise you'll feel same like me after wasting your money
Although my computer doesn't cater for the new generation of memory sticks, so the transfer rate is not as high as it could be, it is great value because it carries so much info -- nearly a quarter of my data hard drive. And it is ridiculously small -- I still can't quite believe how much info it will store. While it is slow to load on my system, its read rate is good and videos can be viewed, even the very high definition ones.
I have requested an RMA from Newegg to return both drives. While the drives are very competitively priced they are not the Kingston quality I expect. I've used Kingston products since 1998: ECC DIMMs for Compaq/HP Proliant servers. Flawless under Compaq/HP server diagnostics & 24-hour server stress / burn in tests. Never had a problem in the field either. I currently have two older Kingston DT101 G2 USB 2.0 thumb drives, 16 GB and 32 GB, and they work fine. Since buying those two drives I've bought five Adata S102 Pro USB 3.1 drives: 2 x 16MB, 2 x 32MB, 1 x 64MB. They all work fine.
I use this as a backup drive in a Sound Devices MixPre 6 II. I have older drives from Kingston, the all-metal DataTraveler SE9 series, and those are great - 32GB sticks with a flat profile, and 64GB sticks with a curved profile that makes it easier to grab and plug and unplug. They can easily be put onto keychains which is useful if you rotate through backups. By comparison, this stick is very flimsy and the plastic end feels wobbly right out of the box. It required quite a bit of force to put into the slot, and also to remove. I'm surprised how much worse it is than previous models. It does the job so far, but I won't be buying any more of this type of USB stick.
I bought this stick to use with my TV - playing photos and videos directly on my TV, and for that, it works great. It doesn't lag or overheat when playing and stays connected reliably. However, when I want to write new files on it, I have to be incredibly patient. It's so slow.
