I was given a KitchenAid Mixer as a gift from my partner when we moved house. This is hands down one of the best gifts I have ever been given. There has not been a single occasion where I have been unable to use the mixer for a recipe. Even with the toughest doughs this mixer is able to do a great job. I have had it over 10 years now and it is exactly the same as the day I was given it. This Mixer has been involved with some of my favourite memories, making cupcakes with my young child, my partner and son randomly getting on a bread baking kick on a Sunday morning etc. I know that this mixer will be handed down for generations, and the cream colour will complement any kitchen design.

Absolutely a great Mixer, really well made and easy to use. Unlike so many small appliances this will be a one time purchase. Spend the money on this high quality mixer and you will pass it on to your kids. Controls and operation are straight forward and intuitive. I would strongly recommend adding the KitchenAide Shedder package for all sorts of additional usage of this great product. Packaging was great and the item is very well protected. Although not a criticism this is a serious appliance and weighs enough to warrant some thought as to where it will be stored, and how often it will be used. It is good looking enough to live out on the countertop but will take up a square foot of space.

I’ve had my Artisan KitchenAid stand mixer for 20+ years, I think that in itself speaks volumes about the quality of the product. Whilst at the time of purchase it was costly, approx £300, 20 years later it still works like new, looks brand new, very much worth the price! There are so many things it can be used aside from just making cakes, it makes the best mashed potatoes, knead bread so well, takes the effort away from me which is important as I struggle with arthritis and would not be able to do that. It’s an all round good product, that lasts a lifetime, looks beautiful on your kitchen surface and is so user friendly!

I brought this mixer about 5 weeks ago, tested it out by mixing my soft butter and caster sugar for a banana cake and it sounded like a grinding tractor motor, I then rung KitchenAid, it took some time for them to hear what was happening with my mixer, they agreed it wasn’t right and then got me to take it to a local repair shop in Hamilton NZ. I had no contact from either places for a few weeks, called the repair place and they are waiting on two new parts because it is faulty. Why not just send me a new mixer KitchenAid? You are clearly at fault! This experience has seriously ruined your brand for me ☹️ I’ve not mixer for 5 weeks+ now, I brought it for making a cake for my friends birthday, so disappointed.
This is my second Mixer and I love this. It is Amazing . Everything that you bake comes out lovely.Make sure that if you make bread with the dough hook DO NOT USE the fastest speed 10 as it will ruin the motor. Number 2 is quite sufficient I use the dough hook the most when my grandson comes and make Monkey Bread, He always asks for some to take home for school the next day,Best ever mixer. Thank You John Lewis for supplying KitchenAid it is a competitive price as well.
You have to look at these KitchenAid stand mixers as an investment. They're not cheap, but if you don't want to rely on getting cheap and nasty rubbish from China (like Ken***d), you need to vote with your wallet. The company although bought by Whirlpool still make these in the USA and there is a 5-year warranty with repairability for at least 15 years. The other great part is that you can buy spares easily and fix these yourself should the need arise, but they are solidly built. The mixer is easily disassembled unlike other makes and there are plenty of videos out there to show you how to replace the worm gear (the only Nylon / Kevlar gear in there) that is designed to break on overload to prevent damage to the other parts. Hopefully you won't need ... MoreYou have to look at these KitchenAid stand mixers as an investment. Hopefully you won't need to.Attachments can be on the pricey side, but personally, for the standard mixer attachments (Dough Hook, Beater & Whisk), I opted for a model with these made from stainless steel, instead of the aluminium and coated versions. I have seen this type catch on the bowl over time and the coating then gradually comes off.I opted for the additional glass bowl with a cover, so that I can take it off the mixer and put it into the microwave for melting or warming ingredients then connect it back to the mixer as needed - this saves transferring into microwave safe and back again and saves on the washing up!I've ordered a veg slicer and grater attachment as that is what I will likely use, and will possibly consider the meat grinder in future for making my own burgers etc. But for now, it has everything else I need.I used to have 3 Ken****d mixers, and all of them failed within a year, with some attachments where the safety interlock failed so were lethal. So I am done with them and the cheap Chinese construction, having now firmly invested in the KitchenAid camp.Have made a variety of culinary miracles so far using KitchenAid's own recipes from their website and these have turned out perfect. The colour looks like it could of come directly from the Fukushima nuclear plant in Japan, but hey, it's a light yellow and at the end of the day it's the mixer that counts!
My early views are very positive. As it is early I guess that comes with a health warning in itself, however I would describe it as a 'proper' piece of kit! It feels so robust and looks like it will last a lifetime. To note though, I am just a novice and so far I have only tried it for cake mixing and not yet explored anything else, but it has proved to be smooth and efficient in its operation (see below though). The process of ordering was handled very well, the supplier (Dawsons Department store) provided excellent customer service and the mixer arrived next day, it and the accessories were all safely packaged. My only slight disappointment was the factory set up which meant the gap between the beaters and 'floor' of the bowls was too big so on my first go I ... Thankfully a combination of 'Dr Google' and You Tube provided the answer but it would have been helpful if the answer was readily available in the handbook or on the KA website (it may be I just didn't see it). But for that, it would have been 5 Stars from me.
Excellent food mixer. Very good for mixing both heavy dough and light cake mixes. Solid, well built and saves so much hassle. Wish we had bought one years ago!We nearly went for the cheaper option in Lake Land (NOT exactly cheap, but substantially cheaper), but when you look and feel the two, side by side, the extra is well worth it. The range of accessories which can simply be locked in and driven off the mixer itself, puts it in a different league to most of the competition. The two mixing bowls which come as standard are a God-send too - One batch of bread dough mixed and away to prove, while a cake mix is on the go in a second bowl - Brilliant! It is so very easy to clean, as are the attachments with no nooks and crannies to make things difficult. All we ... Bought the same model in December, but was not happy with the grumbling noise on the lowest speed. This has been replaced by the supplier after having to pay additional cost for this colour.Much of the grumbling noise on the other model has dissipated, but there is still a little low rumbling sound remaining that is not there on a friends new mixer. So I'm not sure whether this is normal or not. I would expect not on a new mixer. As to the mixer itself, generally pleased with performance on most jobs, but I'm not convinced when mixing dough or pastry.Egg whites: Excellent and very quick.Cake batter: Excellent, although the supplied 'K' beater is very messy and does not do a good job of reaching the sides. This forces you to buy the flat edge beater attachment, which is another expense that should really be included.Dough: Very poor performance. I would only recommend you use the 'K' beater for combining the flour and shortening into bread crumbs, but NOT for adding the water to form the dough. This will cause the mixer to complain, the motor will struggle and will cause the head to knock about! So in this case I suggest you add the water slowly and combine by hand only if you want to save your mixer.Bread Dough: I would not recommend at all. I tried the dough hook and it was fine for a while on a small amount of dough (500 grammes of flour only), but started to complain when mixing after everything came together and when working the dough. I won't be using it for bread dough because of this and will use a bread-maker machine to knead the dough for me, rather than risk motor damage on the new mixer.Other issues: The plastic lid cover for the bowl lid is very flimsy and hardly fits at all. It's very fiddly to get it to stay in place and easily falls inside the bowl because of the poor fitting or construction. The plastic construction is very poor and I can see this breaking within a few months if not careful. So 2 stars lost for this.So I have tried a couple of attachments, namely the juicer for extracting lemon juice from lemon halves, and the grater and slicer. The juice extractor worked well, but the vegetable slice and grinder was hopeless for slicing onions and with carrots, it stained the inside orange after one carrot! So for my first experience with KitchenAid, I have to say I'm not as impressed as I had hoped. Yes, the mixer construction is solid, and has good aesthetics, however I am not totally convinced of its dough handling capabilities as mentioned above and cannot now get rid of my bread maker as I have no faith in the mixer's ability to handle dough without adversely affecting the motor in future.I also would like to have seen a blender attachment for the mixer available, as I now also have to keep my old food processor to blend soups as the KitchenAid has no blender attachment to date.Time will tell, but currently I'm having buyer's remorse.
This brand is so good. It stands proud in my kitchen with its sleek shape and beautiful ink blue colour. It’s sturdy and you can tell by the weight that it’s well made. The motor is pretty quiet compared to other makes and it beats, stirs and whisks while you get on with another task. All my baking has been a success. There’s nothing left behind that hasn’t been incorporated into the mix. This machine is undoubtedly here to stay in my kitchen for many years and is my baking buddy
