Definitely worth the investment to buy an extra bowl. It has helped to drastically increase my output since I'm not wasting time constantly washing my bowl before I can move on to the next recipe, plus the larger size can easily accommodate a triple batch of my whipped frosting whereas the 6 qt. model could barely handle 2 batches.

I have 2 other Kitchen Aid stand mixers. The Artisan 5 Qt, the Professional 6 Qt. I have extra bowls for both of these so I was certainly gonna purchase an extra bowl for my new Commercial Stand mixer. This bowl has a different shape, I really like it. Not that I have a problem with the old designs it is that this design is just more in keeping with a sleeker, more modern look. I purchased the Commercial Stand mixer because honestly the 6 Qt. just wasn't large enough for the way I cook. I do a lot of large batch cooking (to freeze) and although I will always use my other ones there will be many uses for this larger bowl. I does fit into my dishwasher and comes out great, I like the finish as well. I am not sure how to describe it, I think it is called Brushed steel. ... MoreI have 2 other Kitchen Aid stand mixers. These are really attractive. And the size is wonderful. I have had many episodes of flying food from mashed potatoes to hamburger meat. I am really excited that those days are done!!!

I originally had a Kitchenaid Artisan, bought thought I needed to upgrade, so I bought the 8 Qt. Commercial Kitchenaid. I also got an extra bowl for large baking needs. It was well worth it! I tried to push one of these bowls to the limit. I was able to push through 5 cakes or 5- 2 layer 9" cakes. Granted by the end, I started to mix the last milk in the batter by hand not to splatter and to mix it well, but it came out nice in the end. So safetly It can do 4.5.

After using a 5 qt. bowl for a while this thing is spacious. Not that I ever fill it all the way up, but there is much less mess when using a larger bowl. Having that added capacity for the times when you need to double up your recipe is a nice bonus. This bowl is sturdy yet fairly light and easy to move around. Cleaning is a breeze because it's stainless steel. Very nice product.

A bit of an upgrade

So it's only about 1L bigger than the one that comes with the mixer, but the ergonomics are a bit better, and having two bowls is very handy. Very nicely made. Still does small quantities surprisingly well

Even better than one supplied with mixer
26 March 2022

I bought this for my mixer as an additional bowl to mix two different mixtures without having to empty the other bowl .I was pleasantly surprised that it was even better quality than the one supplied with the mixer, plus the splash guard fits to it better too.

Great Features

I bought a new 8 Quart stand mixer about a month ago. I am so glad I did. I make a lot food items. This bowl is large enough to take double and quadruple recipes. I am planning on buying a second 8 Quart bowl for making items that require batter plus beaten egg whites for waffles, Chantilly Cream, etc.

It is a rebuild
5 January 2016

As a rebuild they might have missed a couple things wrong with it. In my case orbital gear makes this wobbling howl when under load. Was there an inner planetary gear that was left un-replaced? Or perhaps they forgot to lube it. Regardless, I am happy with device. I paid $175 for Professional HD 7 years ago as a rebuild, so $500 wasn't too bad for their top model.

Turns my new Pro Line mixer into a commercial mixer look-alike
28 June 2023

The three commercial bowls all fit the Pro Line 7-qt mixer as well as the Professional 600 series. I now have the 5-, 7-, and 8-qt bowls, plus the 3-qt combi and have listed the 7-qt polished bowl for sale here on eBay along with the pouring shield which I never use. The Pro Line mixer is exactly the same as the Commercial mixer -- same heavy-duty motor and gears -- it just isn't NSF-rated or warranteed for commercial use (I'm using it in my home kitchen, so no worries about that at all). But the price difference is significant. (Beware, not all 7-qt mixers are the Pro-Line series.) The nice thing about the commercial bowls is the J-handle that allows the bowls to nest in order to conserve storage space. The only downside is the bowls do not have a rolled rim. The top edge is flared and will not accept the bowl covers commonly sold to fit KitchenAid mixer bowls. Not to worry, I have a set of Misen silicone covers that work perfectly with these bowls.
