KitchenAid Artisan Dual Wall Kettle (1.5L) - Black - O/S
The smooth rounded design has a 1.5 litre capacity and thanks to the double wall construction will keep boiled water hotter for longer as well as reducing noise whilst the water is boiling (which the 3000w concealed heating element will make quick work of). The comfortable, soft grip handle accommodates the button which releases the soft-open lid and a back-lit water window allows you to boil just the desired amount of water needed. The kettle sits on a 360° base allowing for easy left or right handed use. The base also features the adjustable temperature setting slider which gives you control over the temperature you want your water to reach - from 50°C up to 100°C. This is perfect for when you are infusing delicate teas such as green tea which would be ruined if you poured on boiling water, whereas a coarse Assam leaf will benefit from a hotter temperature water. A stylish temperature gauge on the side of the kettle wall means you can see the exact temperature of your water even when the kettle is removed from its base.

Having studied kettles for a while and originally choosing a Smeg kettle, (which was returned within the first couple of weeks) I chose this Kettle. It is more money, but that extra bit gives excellent quality and finish. It feels solid and not too heavy. It has a varied temperature option and lights up to tell you the temperature of the water as it boils. It has a soft sound to acknowledge switching on the kettle to boil and also once the water has reached the requested temperature. The lid flips up upon pressing the button on the handle. A great kettle of which I'm looking forward to using over the next few years or more. Would definitely recommend.

I know it's just a kettle... but trust me it's worth it.I had one of these before which lasted over 10 years, and when it gave up, I did a straight replacement with the same one and the quality is just as good as it's always been. It's sturdy, and because it's double walled it doesn't heat up on the outside, and also keeps the water hotter for longer, meaning if you're having multiple cups, you don't need to keep reboiling from scratch. The ability for such a wide range of temperature settings as well is brilliant.Mine is in the gunmetal grey type colour, which looks great, and the design is classic kitchenaid, and sits beautiful alongside my stand mixer. 10/10

Needed a new kettle and thought I'd settled on another quality brand until I took a closer look at this KitchenAid Artisan kettle and read the reviews.Comes in lovely colours and was pleased to see also glossy black - what I wanted to match colour scheme.Yes it's expensive, but lucky to purchase in sale and used some JL vouchers to get even more off, so pretty happy to get best discount possible!Looks smart, a bit different, even the base is substantial - a class act and love the little 'ding' it makes when finishes, having reached the selected temperature. If willing to invest in a quality item, that will hopefully give many years' usage, would definitely recommend.

Attractive, well insulated and can adjust temp it heats to is. Easy to fill. Not so easy to see the water amount indicator due to its placement. I like its elevator style beep. It's best feature seems durability. My last one has just stopped working, but it lasted 9 years of frequent use. Thus, despite the increased price, I'm considering the same model again. The old one can do houseplant watering.
Honestly, I did wince at the price of this kettle but as we had just refurbished our kitchen we decided to splurge a little (a lot!). However this kettle is not only gorgeous to look at but works really well too. I love the fact that you can set a temperature for the water to heat up to. I never thought we would use it but we do, fairly often. I particularly love the touch button to turn it on and the little 'ping' sound it makes when it's ready. I think it does sound a little like the button to call the cabin crew on a flight but don't let that put you off it's so much nicer than the loud click of a button being released on previous kettles we've owned. If I could offer one bit of feedback to KitchenAid it would be that the lid needs to open a little wider. This is a small price to pay for such a lovely product. I can't speak for longevity yet but fingers crossed we'll get years of use out of it. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this kettle.
This is my second Kitchen Aid kettle which I absolutely love. From its doubly insulated inner wall so it’s safe to use, to its adjustable temperature gauge with the light increasing as it moves up the temperature scale and then dinging to tell me it has boiled. Although it’s quite expensive to purchase it should last many, many years (my first kettle lasted around 10 years). A fast boiling kettle which is quiet and easily managed when pouring boiling water. Sits nice and steady on its base with a good firm handle too. Well worth the purchase.
This is my second kitchenaid kettle. It heats water to the perfect temperature for speciality teas and for bread making. It looks good, and is reasonably quiet. I have not found a kettle to match it. The down side is the element went in my first kettle and kitchenaid refused to repair it as they are unable to get parts. I note this is common. Otherwise the kettle is a great buy.
Bought to replace an identical kettle that had failed after 5 years of constant use. Initially replaced with a much cheaper option. Very quickly realised that the cheaper option was exactly that. I found that I missed the features that seemed pointless when I first bought the kettle; double skin, temperature control, thermometer etc were very it turned out quite useful. It is expensive but you get what you pay for and 5 years for a kitchen item that gets hammered every day isn't that bad.
The kettle is a really useful addition to my kitchen. The appearance of the appliance is very smart and is easy to keep clean. The temperature gauge is very useful when boiling water. Although it has extra features to my previous kettles it is very easy to use and the water boils very quickly. I also like the little "ping" when the water has reached boiling point. I hope to be buying the KitchenAid Artisan Toaster in the near future.
Overall, I am very pleased with my kettle. It does what it is supposed to, i.e., heat water, with the added bonus of being able to choose the goal temperature (useful for coffee drinkers and those who make bread by hand). The design, of course, is gorgeous to look at - retro red and chrome with flashing lights and a dial - and there's a pleasing chime when it turns off. Two slight criticisms would be a) it's heavy, so perhaps not suitable for someone who struggles physically, and b) the water level gauge is difficult to read because it is set into the side of the kettle inside and parallel to the handle. But these are minor criticisms. In general, I'm thrilled.
