I bought the KitchenAid Diamond Blender KSB1585 at the Peter's of Kensington Boxing Day sale. I'd been looking at blenders for a while and was torn between this and a higher-priced Vitamix Ascent, but since I wasn't sure how much actual use I'd get from a blender I thought it might be better to start at a lower price point -- and the KitchenAid name and the sale price of $212 made this one hard to resist. So far I've used it only a few times for frozen cocktails and smoothies, but it works a treat, no problems at all with crushing ice and blending fruit. I haven't had a chance to use it to make gazpacho or hummus but it seems a pretty sturdy unit, fairly straightforward to use. It's not a hassle to clean the jug, either, although you'll want to mind the blades if ... MoreI bought the KitchenAid Diamond Blender KSB1585 at the Peter's of Kensington Boxing Day sale. Amazing Blender!

This blender could literally blend anything and it just blends my smoothie perfectly. I also use this blender to make pancake batter and it just mix really well. It is a bit noisy but the best oart is that it doesn’t produce this motor smell. Not to mention, the functions are easy to use with and always love KitchenAid appliances.

Easy to use, very well made and a highly recommend

This is my first KitchenAid product and what a great way to be introduced to the brand. Very well put together, high quality attachments and easy to use. It’s now a daily product that is used in my household.

Good but...
20 August 2020

Have been very happy with blender but had to replace jar lock. After ordering spare jar lock I thought I could change it myself...even went to Bunnings and bought special tool. But no...had to go to special kitchen aid repair shop...only to find out there is none in the whole of Brisbane!!! Had to drive more than 100km to pay around $50 to have it fixed! While I not dispute having paid the money for repair...driving so many km to have it fixed is a disgrace kitchen aid! Come on...this is not good enough! Happy with product but not happy with service!! Got it repaired because I like the blender and don’t believe in a throw away society. Also have artisan mixer and I am completely happy with the product...just worry if.....!

Great product, would recommend
27 October 2020

Read many positive reviews about the blender and wanted to try it myself. My order arrived quickly and well packaged. The box was hugee. The blender is very simple to use agter reading the manual. Theres so many options to choose from and suitable for everyone. This multi function blender is great and quite a powerful unit as well. It does run loud so you might want to avoid blending when someone is sleeping. I am happy with the product and would recommend it to anyone who wants an all in one unit. Thanks kitchenaid! Next thing on my list is the Artisan 160 :)

Kitchen aid.. A brand to trust
26 January 2021

Extremely happy with this purchase. I have been a chef for over ten years working in fine dining before a career change. I have worked mainly with vitamix or thermomix. This blender stands up to a a vitamix, but is also quieter.I have only had this blender for around two weeks, and it gets used for my daily berry smoothy. Have had no issues so far, and I Have good Brand trust in kitchen aid. All parts feel to be made of highest quality. It also looks beautiful on my bench!

Not Happy

Bought from David Jones. Liquid was spraying out of the bottom of jug blade area on first use. Took back was told to go home and ring Kitchenaid. Phone systems down for a week. Lodged a claim online with video links on how it looked. COuld tell video was watched by someone and days later still no reply. Tried ringing again. On hold half hour. Would not give me an RA number so I could just go and swap at David Jones. Had to wait for a new jug to be sent and told to throw other one out. New jug arrived. Same problem! Wife took whole unit back to David Jones again and said she is not leaving until resolved. After A LOT of push back finally got it swapped for a whole new unit, this time in black.Have tried this unit and thought I saw some spray off, but I think it was ... MoreBought from David Jones. Time will tell. Lucky it has a two year warranty. I'm not to dirty about the product itself being faulty, but the process to get it replaced after only owning it for a few days was just plain ridiculous!

Really great blender!
6 May 2020

I bought this a month ago and it was a great purchase. I wanted to write a review, because there weren't many when I bought this item, but I am so glad I bought it. I really like the KitchenAid brand. It is good quality. The blender has enough power to make delicious smoothies and it is really easy to clean.I was also impressed with the hot liquid blending function when I needed to blend some soup that I was making. The only criticism that I have is that it only comes in this one colour. So much for colour coordinating my kitchen! It isn't a huge thing, but I would like it if it came in red or black. So far so good!

So easy to clean!
19 April 2019

I've been using an earlier version of this blender for about 15 years, the classic one with the glass jar. I LOVED it and was devastated when I dropped the jar recently and it smashed... They don't make the jars anymore, so I was forced to buy a new one. I trusted this brand enough to try their newer model, and I'm really happy I did. This Diamond blender blends beautifully, just like the old one, but is MUCH easier to clean. Just rinse out the jar and you're done! In the old blender, I had to take 3 pieces apart, including the spinning bladed, and clean them all separately... So this is a huge improvement! And I feel more confident with the plastic jar, knowing I won't ever drop it and break it like I did the glass one. BUT this Diamond blender is significantly ... MoreI've been using an earlier version of this blender for about 15 years, the classic one with the glass jar.
