I've never owned a bottle with this sort of lid before, but it's quite useful. It's easy to open, secure from spills, but I prefer a screw lid option. Sustainable bottles like this are great options for those looking to reduce plastic waste. The slightly textured shell provides a no-slip grip, though the size makes it a bit difficult to transport. The metal interior keeps contents well insulated, but not as insulated as double walled flasks. For what it is, it's a great buy. I purchased the 32 oz bottle, and wish I'd gone with a smaller size.

Great bottle - lasted 15 years so far.

I'm on the site to buy an insulated bottle, but I thought I would stop by and leave a review on my original 15-year-old Klean Kanteen bottle. I replaced the lid with a no-leak version almost right at the beginning of its time with me - It has lived with me through multiple periods of my life and numerous flights and drives around the world. It's got a bunch of small dents - which is mostly me dropping or banging it against things - still sits upright and still doesn't leak. I guess this would be the stainless steel version of a patina. It's still going strong, and I love the ethos of the company it's made by.

Great minus exposed mouth piece

I bought this for my daughter at school. It is a really sturdy and nice water bottle. I would say that there are a few things we do not like about it though. The mouth piece is always exposed which collects dust and dirt when we put it in a bag for traveling around. The mouth piece is also hard to tell if its pushed all the way down and that has caused us to spill the whole water bottle out a couple times. In terms of sturdiness it is really great. I see this remaining in good condition for a long time. Its convenience is good have sitting out around the house but not for travel. I would order a different top for a bottle next time.

Nice middle sized bottle

I bought this to replace the much loved, dinged up 27 oz classic I had for 12 years but sadly lost recently. It’s a great size for putting in my bag or the car cup holder but I miss the larger capacity when I’m out and about so I’ll probably get another 27 oz as well. My 2.5 year old keeps trying to steal it because he prefers it to his 12 oz sippy bottle, so maybe he’ll inherit this one—it’s a little big and heavy for him when it’s full but I think this size would be great for a bigger kid. The color coating is vibrant and seems like it will really stand the test of time. Attached is a photo comparing the size of the 12 and 18 ounce bottles.

Not entirely "classic"

I own several Kleen Kanteen products, and I was somewhat upset with the one.The good: It's a solid Kleen Kanteen product. High quality contractions and materials. All of the interchangeable lids are great depending on how you're going to use it. It can't be beat as a brand, and that's why I have a lot of their stuff.The bad: The dimensions are not the same as other Kleen Kanteen containers. The cylinder is narrower than the others. I bought this hoping it was the same dimensions as the other 20 oz. insulated container I have and the smaller 12 oz. insulated container. Why is this important? A lot of the outdoors gear I have can accommodate a water bottle. The older "classic" fit nicely into all of those holders. Some of the water bottle fasteners are strained trying to accommodate the taller bottle.I wish they would go back to the shorter, more stout bottle design. The one I purchased is a great product, but using it in the majority of the water bottle holders I have (ones integrated into back packs, fanny packs, and other carrying packs) is less than ideal. I may need to find a different product to accommodate that use case. That's why I am disappointed with the design of this product.

Solid bottle. Great for kids

My kids had the same style of bottle as this one but in 355 mL and when they wanted bigger bottles I got them this size. The bottle only leaks if you don’t close the top… cleaning the spout is pretty easy, you just put it in the dishwasher… my kids have dropped the bottles and there are small dents but all are superficial. The bottles still sit on a table perfectly flat. They used them daily at school so I would expect them to get some wear but they have held up well.

Trusted maker, Healthy choice, Reasonable price

I prefer single wall stainless to reduce weight and, because I rarely carry iced drinks, these are a perfect choice for me. I researched more than 35 manufacturers of stainless bottles and settled on Kleen because: reps promptly and completely replied to my questions; their comments about manufacturing processes could be verified by third-party reviewers; they don't use lead to vacuumize their insulated bottles and mugs; their costs are quite competitive; and they are members of 1% for the Planet and a Certified B Corp. I find it easy to drink from the sport cap which, if properly closed, creates a leak-proof product, though the multiple small parts are annoying to remove to clean (a frequent necessity) and reinstall. We like them!

We purchased these to have lead free bottles our whole family could use and they've been great. This un-insulated bottle can dent if dropped on a hard surface, it happened to my daughter's on our first hike with them. Thankfully the bottle took more damage than she did but although it is dented, it still works fine. They do give you instructions to get dents out if they happen, we just haven't tried it yet. Overall, still great bottles.

Wish my review was 100% positive – great company

Hi Klean Kanteen,I bought two of your drink bottles because I really like your company and want to support businesses that value sustainability.However, on three occasions now, water has leaked from this drink bottle – once damaging a book and once causing quite a mess. I’ve been trying to really focus on making sure it’s properly closed, but it’s been a bit of a pain.The second drink bottle (the bigger one) has a spill-proof lid, but it’s too big for my handbag and is difficult to drink from while driving. It also already has a small dent.On the plus side, both are great to carry and seem very well made, and I’m pleased to be supporting a great company.
