This has been great for apartment maintenance and home renovations. I've been using this screwdriver for several weeks now and it has been a solid replacement for old worn out ones I used previously. The bits are holding up well and are easy to access. The bit holder/extender is great for swapping between my drills. The size is perfect too, both for use and storage. If it ever breaks I will definitely be getting another Klein.

I love this tool, it is exactly what I need in my daily servicing of industrial scientific equipment. It is very versatile and 60% of it is built well. The problems are the bit holder never holds the bits well and they fall out of their holders and rattle around. This is not from use as i never use the bits in the handle and even though I haven't toughed them since the day I bought them, they are always loose inside and rattling around.THE BIGGEST PROBLEM is the black rubber grip on the handle. I have owned three of these so far and each one, the rubber grip loosens up on the plastic handle and then you can no longer put the torque that you need on the screwdriver to loosen a tight screw. Perhaps if they bonded the rubber to the plastic or used a different ... MoreI love this tool, it is exactly what I need in my daily servicing of industrial scientific equipment. I'm a bit undecided if I like this screwdriver or not. If you are working at the bench where the screw driver is laid down or placed in tool box it is great. Using it in a tool belt or placing it into the holes in a ladder doing overhead electrical work is frustrating. What happens is the shaft release collar is real sensitive and gets pressed down slightly and the shaft is released dropping out the bottom into your tool belt causing the handle to also flop into the bottom of your tool belt or if on the ladder in a screwdriver hole it falls to the floor from your ladder followed shortly by the handle which is no longer attached to the shaft and when it hits the floor all the bits eject and you spend 15 minutes locating as many as you can before giving up. In just a ... MoreI'm a bit undecided if I like this screwdriver or not. If you are working at the bench where the screw driver is laid down or placed in tool box it is great. In just a few days it has disconnected in my tool belt or from the ladder as well as when it contacted the vapour barrier surround when screwing down overhead boxes and fallen to the floor enough times I gave up using it and I have gone back to my regular Klein screwdrivers. I thought it looked like a great concept as the adjustable length is great, just the lock mechanism should be pull not push so the shaft stays in the tool if you bump it or place it into your belt.

I previously had a ratcheting screwdriver that I kept in my tractor tool box for field repairs. After 40 years I wore it out and bought the Klein 14-in-1 tool as a replacement. It is not a spiral (or ratcheting) driver, but I don't miss that. The unit consists of a screwdriver with adjustable shank length and a set of magnetically held replaceable bits in a convenient handle storage area. Fully extended, the shank length is about 10 inches. Fully retracted it is about 6 3/4 inches with a couple of intermediate lengths between. The adjustable shank is removeable and all the bits are "impact rated." I was glad to find that all my prior bits from the older tool work fine as they are standard 1/4 inch hex shanked power tool bits. In addition, you can replace the adjustable shank with those bits with snap-in shoulders.I have been using this tool for about a month now and it has been a time saver many times. Very convenient to carry around and meets many needs with just the bits in the handle.
I thought these were a great idea, and bought two. Both have been very lightly used, and both developed the same problem that some other reviewers have unhappily discovered. The piece that prevents the six bits that are closest to the working end of the tool from slipping into the handle is a very close fit in the yellow plastic of the handle. Apparently this piece expands slightly over time (or the yellow plastic shrinks a bit.) Whatever the case, the piece gets too tight in the handle. Too often, this piece gets lodged down in the handle. When this happens, the bits can "go through" their holders and end up inside the handle. This problem can be fixed, but it is a tedious process, and success is not guaranteed. I spent far too much time and effort getting mine to ... MoreI thought these were a great idea, and bought two. As good as this tool is otherwise, I will not be buying anymore until Klein gets on the ball and does some redesign.
I’ve had this for a while and have tried to avoid using it as much as possible. The bits fly out every time you open it and the rubber grip isn’t solidly attached to the body. I was unlucky enough to use this again yesterday and felt compelled to write this.I was shocked to find out it’s still for sale as of now. This item needs to be taken off the shelves immediately and buried so deep that it’s undiscoverable by future generations.
I've owned this screwdriver since I became an electrical apprentice 2 years ago. It has been one of my favourite tool purchases EVER. Wiring up a dishwasher? ph#2 to take the skirt off, t20 to get off the housing, ph1 to ground and repeat. It has been a godsend during finishing when I didn't own a sq1 bit I'd just pop it into my impact, I don't ever carry a Philips screwdriver because of this one tool. The only thing I don't care for is you cant pry very well w/ the flat head bit because it is just held in by a strong magnet but its great for every other application of a flat head. Turn 3-4 screwdrivers in ur belt into just one with this tool, keep it in ur pocket when ur checking jboxes and youll find nothing you cant open / work on.*can impact hard, worst that ... MoreI've owned this screwdriver since I became an electrical apprentice 2 years ago. The multi-bit adjustable length screwdriver can be quite useful by eliminating the need for different length screwdriver. The screwdriver adjusts to 4 lengths and comes with 13 magnetic bits. 12 bits are in the handle that easily pulls out that also includes torque tips to drive those "star" screws. The storage area in the grip pulls out easily and and the grip is comfortable to hold vs. a hard handle screwdriver. The release for the shaft is at the base of the screwdriver and easily pulls back with one or two fingers. When released, the lock springs back and if needed, moving the shaft will lock in the position that is closest to the grove on the shaft to firmly hold the extension. As the extension is pulled out further, it slightly wobbles, but this is not ... MoreThe multi-bit adjustable length screwdriver can be quite useful by eliminating the need for different length screwdriver. As the extension is pulled out further, it slightly wobbles, but this is not perceived as a problem or issue as wobble is extremely minimal and still able to accurate place the bit in the head.If needed the shaft can be easily removed and replaced with another type of shaft, if needed that has a hex-end connector. This is a perfect type of tool to keep in a car to avoid needing to carry different screwdrivers possible emergency repairs due to the various bits and being able to easily extend the reach of the driver.
This tool is exactly what I was looking for. The bits hold up! I can’t imagine finding a superior quality multi-bit screwdriver, so I STRONGLY recommend it for professionals, but there are pro’s and con’s:Pro - Suitable for a range of different (and difficult) applications, due to adjustable length. Alternate use of the extension, in that you can remove it for use in an impact drillPro - The magnet is STRONG, and is impact rated. Most magnets weaken drastically after a few bad drops, but this tool is built for a proPro - Great range of different heat-treated (industrial-strength) bits, including even the 1/4” nut driver, if you are removing motor lead head/otherwise. The removable bits include #0 thru #3 Phillips, 3/16” and 1/4” flat head, #1 and #2 square ... MoreThis tool is exactly what I was looking for. The bits hold up! I wanted to carry this on me, at all times, due to its versatility. But, that doesn’t seem as practical now, at least without a tool holster. It is slightly over a half pound, has a 5.13” handle, extends to 9.73”, and has a 1.42” diameter. You could always remove the shank, to make it a little easier to fit in your pocketIf interested, these are made in Taiwan. This is NOT an insulated hand tool.
This multi bit screwdriver was usefully till the internal bit holder broke. Now it will not fully close and the remaining bits fall out. So in the end it is not better than having a normal bit holder with a bag/cup/box of bits near by to change to has needed. I was hoping this would provide a compact tool with numerous bit selection. It does not. Disappointed on the durability. I have other Klein tools that I would consider generational. I will look for a better alternative.
