So ya got less leverage, and and they don't hammer as good as traditional 9" Kleins. Those are my only cons in comparison.These are my troubleshooters. They're super versatile when paired with an 11 in-1 driver in my back pocket. I dremeled in a 12awg stripper at the top of the cutters. After mod, It still has more than enough free-blade to easily snip through intact 12awg 3-wire romex cable effortlessly.The thinner head profile and shorter length gives them a lot more access wiring in boxes. The drop in weight over traditionals allows me a little more control, and my hands are less cramped at the end of the day.I have a dipped pair, too, but definately prefer the Journeyman grips on these. I’ve used these pliers and many other Klein tools for years. They cost more up front but are much better quality and tougher than other brands manufactured overseas. Reliable tools are needed as most job sites are remote for me and Klein delivers that. They stand by their products with a lifetime warranty and buying Klein supports jobs at home.
I live in West Africa as a missionary and sometimes you just have to figure things out. I lent them to a fellow missionary. Due to bad workmanship by electrical company, he needed to separate something and accidentally touched a neighboring wire. Thank goodness for these pliers. Saved his life.
I have had these pliers for about 4yrs, bought as a replacement to my regular American style linesman pliers. Not only is the design better (does more), they are half the weight of regular pliers. Anything that reduces the weight carried is good by me. Little more expensive than regular and likely will need to be ordered, worth every cent + wait.
