My star rating for klein is always a standard 5 . However, these diagonal cutters slightly disappointed me. I had hoped this cutter would have better cutting leverage being 9" than the standard 8" cutter, thus being easier on my hand after all day cutting 10awg solid wire. I think the "heavy duty" refers to the fact that these cutter are build heavy duty, not that its neccesarily any easier on your hand to cut heavier duty material such as multiple 10awg solid wires at a time. And, a con is that these are heavier and larger than sandard making drawing from tool belt feel like more effort.

I keep several sizes of bolt cutters on my work truck for anything that's too large for my diagonal cutters. Well, these have saved me quite a few trips out to the truck and back to grab the bolt cutters, and time is money. They cut through almost anything you throw at them with ease. Nails, screws, wire, ACSR all cut like butter. I even use them to cut 1/4" threaded rod (something none of my other hand tools could hope to accomplish). They're not exactly revolutionary, but they do anything I would have used my 8" cutters for with greater ease due to the extra leverage, with the added bonus of being able to cut through larger objects. The cutting blades are much longer as well which gives you the ability to cut more all at once. I love the feel of these cutters. They have similar weight and ergonomics to a quality pair of Lineman's pliers, with the extra comfort afforded by Klein's Journeyman grips. It's a bit different from the more traditional rounded handles found on smaller diagonal cutters, but a welcome change. The angled blade design makes them fantastic for pulling nails and cable staples, as well a making flush cuts against a flat surface. These are just a great all-around pair of diagonal cutters that have become my go-to daily pair. #kleintools #kleincrusaders

Bought these to replace an older pair of south wire that I had. Taking them back after using for an hour. I expected them to be a major upgrade over my old pair but they’re not. Apparently there good for cutting screws and what not but these struggle to cut MC when you snap it. Not even cutting all the way through just the actual armor part of the MC. After this purchase I’ve decided I’m done with Klein. Quality has been bad on the last few Klein purchases I’ve had. Knipex here I come

My old 8 inchers were bent so I turned them in for warranty but my local HD didn't have any in stock so they gave me these 9 inchers. These at first glance seem like they'd be great but unfortunately they are not. These are having a hard time cutting simple 12/2 Aluminum mc. I need to get the 8 inchers back asap.
Klein Tools has provided me with free product and additional incentives to provide an honest review of this product. This is a must have in every electrician's tool bag. I was skeptical that the J2000-59 would be too bulky. But it actually fit my hand the same as the lineman's pliers. The cutter is mean and will plow through screws, nails, wire and small bolts. The deeper jaws make for less strain on the hands, which is important if arthritis is an issue, as it is with me. The only negative I could find was not being able to tell the difference between them and the J2000 Lineman's pliers when I go to my bag to retrieve one. And I can live with that. Homerun here Klein Tools!! #kleintools #kleincrusaders
I Have been given a great opportunity from Klein tools. I am a member of Klein Crusaders and I have been given a pair of 9" journeyman heavy-duty diagonal-cutting pliers for free. With additional incentives for a honest review of this product. At first receiving the pliers the seemed to be well built. They needed to be broke in just like most tools. Right from the start I noticed a gap in the cutting edge. That gap makes it difficult to cut small stranded wire half the time leaving a strand to two uncut. If you need to cut nails or screw it will do it. Anything smaller and there is to much effort. #kleintools #kleincrusaders
I used at first to just randomly cut steel items as in pictures, loved it BUT you need a very wide spread hand to get these open enough to get near the pivot point or hinge for leverage. Depending on what is to be cut, closer to the pivot point the better these pliers CUT like it was BUTTER. Cutters are very heavy and rubber dipped well for comfort although they say not suitable with electric wiring due to not having proper insulation on handles, ?? I wouldn’t have a problem with these. Be safe and due as they are called for. Engraving on cutters show a person on a telephone pole, but don’t use on a telephone pole, maybe was an old company logo at one time. Love these, if you drop these you’ll hear it, very well made, sharp, long handles for leverage and comfortable ... MoreI used at first to just randomly cut steel items as in pictures, loved it BUT you need a very wide spread hand to get these open enough to get near the pivot point or hinge for leverage. Klein Tools Heavy Duty Diagonal 20000 Series Cutters. I am currently disassembling a picket fence that has served it's full life and the nails needed to be removed. We tried hammering them out and that was fruitless. So we used these very heavy duty diagonal cutters instead and just snipped them off. Worked great. Made quick work of it. My son used them also and he said it was true they did not telegraph the “snap” like the lesser tool he was using, so we had consensus for that very desirable trait, too. The handles are long enough to provide superb leverage in the cut. Excellent tool, made in the USA. I really think Klein tools are the very best, and this tool should last a lifetime. I very much enjoy using their tools.
Super heavy duty when I picked it up to use. This is larger and stockier than my other diagonal cutters and much better made. Another Klein tools quality product that is made in the USA. This one is 9 inch and super sharp with no gaps in the head blade which btw are finely ground sharp when you close the handles together. Most others are smaller and lighter in weight like a toy in comparison to this pliers. The handles are nice and thick and comfortable plastic rubber type feel that will last for years of use. I used it to trim the aluminum ties for chain link fencing and it was easily done and quick with no perceivable damage to the blade head.I did find the packaging a bit tough to remove, as it is in a plastic clamshell which tells me its a popular tool that ... MoreSuper heavy duty when I picked it up to use. As always Klein makes good tools.Bought these to replace some older Klein cutters.Do these make cutting easier? Not really. But the "snap" when cutting #12 or bigger wire is gone.
