Kmart National Geographic Amazing Reactions Chemistry Set

This was a birthday gift we got for our 6 year old grandson and he LOVED it!! My son (his Dad) showed him how to do the experiments and it was a wonderful way for them to share time together. They’re usually playing all kinds of sports together, so this was a nice change of pace for both of them while being very educational. My grandson wore the nice goggles that came with it and the gloves to protect his hands. The ooohs and ahhhhs were awesome to see as they made things glow and saw all kinds of other things happening! Great learning toy!!!

We learned how our breath could change the color of a solution by blowing through a straw and the coolest of all in my opinion was making the glow tubes and worms by using the energy from a light. I loved all of the experiments in The Amazing reactions Set and feel as though this will be fantastic for Older children that have an interest in science .

This kit is great combination of fun and educational experiences.Everything is accurately labeled and packaged safely. The instructions for the experiments are easy to follow and can be carried out by an older children on their own, younger ones may need some assistance. The kit is a great supplement for at home learners or makes a good for evening or weekend activity.My son really loved the safety goggles. The gloves , glasses and other equipment can be used for future experiments so the kit has some longevity after the other experiment projects are completed.The reusable parts of the kit as well as the dispenseable ones are of high quality. We make a great gift for a little science fan or for introducing some fun science activities to a newbie.

My 6 year old daughter loves doing crafts and making projects. So I'm always on the lookout for things that not only will be fun but that will also teach her. Her new National Geographic Amazing Reactions Chemistry Set has been a great way for her to explore new things. The set includes 10 experiments and almost all the items you will need for them. They can all be done fairly easy and in a decent amount of time. The direction book is very detailed and my little was able to follow my instruction and do most of the projects herself. It also comes with another handbook that gives you an additional 10 experiments you can create yourself using common household items. Our kids love to do experiments and this set was a great start for us. You can only do so many volcanoes so having some different ideas was really nice. You get supplies to do the basic experiments and a book with 10 additional ideas using your own supplies too. We were disappointed that the included green sodium alginate was so hard to get out of the bottle that making the worms was impossible but we made beads instead. We set the zinc sulfide out in the sun and the powder did glow in the dark but our glow beads didn’t glow the powder just kept gathering at the bottom of the container but the kids had fun trying to figure out how to get it to dissolve. My son really enjoyed doing one of the experiment's from this kit. We did the purple fizzy one. We have yet to do another one. The instructions were very easy and simple to follow. Clean up was also very easy as well. I do wish that the pouches that had to be cut open was resealable or came with some sort of container to put in. This item is perfect for a summer afternoon to do with the kids. I recommend this to anyone with children.

This is a cool set with a lot of interesting science experiments (15) you can make with your kids. Adult supervision is suggested, also because this can get pretty messy but the kids enjoy the results and following the steps for the process. My kids are 10+ so I let them follow the easy instructions while keeping an eye on the process which is interesting for an adult as well. This is a good set for any kid interested in science, it will make them happy to go through the process and see the surprising results, while learning while they are at it.

These experiments reminded me of pool water test kits, nothing special.My kids were super excited about the glowing worms. The worms were easy enough for the kids to take on, but the glow-in-the-dark powder did not mix well into the solution, so that was a bit of a bust. I also have three kids, and there were not enough worms to go around. My girls ended up putting away the experiment kit and asking to play with slime. This kit may work better for younger kids. My oldest two are ten and twelve. They lost interest pretty quickly, but my six-year-old seemed to be entertained the entire time. This one is by far my favorite. So many activities and everyone of them got a reaction out of all the kids and even the parents. As you can see it comes with lots of packets of different kind of things, comes with test tubes, comes with goggles, comes with all kinds of stuff little gloves little cups, lots of stuff. Includes a booklet to tell you how to do the experiments included and includes a second book it to do activities that aren’t included in the box with things you can find around your home. This was by far the most fun the kids had out of the sets that they received. Definitely recommend it for kids of all ages. The box says eight and up but it Entertained people from age 8 to 48.
