Don't waste your time buying or looking at any other brand. These will not disappoint and will be around for as long as you are. I have probably a dozen different types of channel lock type pliers in my toolbox that are now not touched. Jaws will grab like a pipe wrench or a crescent wrench with exceptional grip. Best pliers I have ever owned in over 30 years of various mechanical work including aerospace, construction, and heavy machinery.

I have bought 6 of these, one kwik-set, one 6". All of them have been great, they make a great gift for someone who is used to using channel-lock. You have to use them correctly I cant stress this enough, always be "pushing" on the top handle. The teeth are designed to "bite" in that direction. Although they are functional no matter how you use them. I work with EMT compression fittings almost daily, the 10" pliers can easily handle a 2" fitting if your in a pinch. After a year I've found these to be one of the tools that are always on me. I use them as a hammer, pry bar, crimper, de-burrer, or whatever I need them to be at the time. I abuse these because I know I can, the things I've done to Knipex tools.. Yet the teeth are still very sharp, the tool is still as ... MoreI have bought 6 of these, one kwik-set, one 6". I love these. A friend had a small pair that he carries everywhere. I watched him use it to remove a battery. It was so easy I tried a pair. The cool way they grip makes them lock in so you don't have to have the muscle you need for regular pliers. I use them for everything. I keep a little pair in my purse and have been able to take out bolts that were stripped because of how they tighten down. Just a really good all round tool, especially if you are like me and don't have the grip strength you once had.

I saw these on Instagram. They were such cute little things. I had been looking at a new Leatherman and started to think that maybe a multi-tool isn't what I needed all the time. I use the pliers on a Leatherman the most. I carry a folder, so I don't need the blade. I figured I'd snag one of these and it would fill most of my needs. This definitely a small set of pliers. They fit perfectly into my watch pocket. That is not to say they aren't useful. I got them today and have already used them to bend fence wire, and pull a thorn out of my leather gloves. I an also pluck a single hair out of my arm with them. They are not needle nose or tweezers, but you can do fine work with them. The push button adjust is simple to use. It can be done with one hand. Tension is provided by a flat spring on the back. This is better than a coil spring, as there is not much to get gummed or messed up. The grips are comfortable and feel sturdy. Some cheap grips will slide off at the worst time. These do not seen to move at all. A great little tool that I will be EDC-ing. Would recommend.
If youre a tinkerer or a handyman, mechanic, anybody who has a need for pliers/wrenches daily. Buy these! Theyre the tits and fit in my front pocket without me even noticing them and theyve made my leather man obsolete almost. Plus theyre lifetime warrantied by Knipex!! Buy em.
Its been over a year now and these 6'' Knipex plyers are still going strong. These may look like a toy but are anything but. Yes they are expensive but all hard working built well last forever tools are. I have a serious grip and brake tools often and I am unable to brake these plyers which is awesome. I carry these and the Knipex 6'' plyer wrench in my EDC bags because they are some of the best emergency tools you could have on you. Gas and water valves can be turned on or off, nuts bolts and even screws can be loosened with these two tools. I added the 8'' bolt cutters as well to my kit and they are impressive! I recommend any Knipex tool because I have 20 old tools from them that are still going. Money well spent!
Knipex are the best brand of pliers I've used and this small pair is no exception. They have every bit of the quality of the larger versions. This isn't a novelty tool meant to be forgotten in the back of the junk drawer. The locking mechanism is secure. I don't use them much, but they are nice for tight spaces. I recently used them to hold onto a nut under the dash of my pickup to unscrew a bolt. I probably could have used a larger pair, but this made the job easier. Since they are so portable, I carried them with me on a ride on the four wheeler and used them to undo and redo a loop of barbed wire to open a stuck gate. The Leatherman I have has nice pliers and would have worked for the fence, but they do not compare to the quality and biting teeth of the Knipex. ... MoreKnipex are the best brand of pliers I've used and this small pair is no exception. If you want or need the best, there are few options that match this.
Very well made tool that allows you to exert a lot of pressure on a nut, bolt head or plumbing compression fitting to both grip and turn and retains the jaw setting for the next turn. Better than an adjustable spanner because it is both quicker and precisely grips using the machined corners to the jaw recesses. This is the smallest in my toolbox and can be easily slipped into a pocket with a screwdriver and pliers for those unpredictable difficult to get to jobs where a tool bag is just too big.
Wow these are small. I've been updating some tools lately to put together a smaller, simpler bag of higher quality tools than the collection in my garage that have rusted because we live near the sea.I have small pair of side cutters and small pair needle nose wire strippers by knippex that are fantastic quick go to tools for general DIY. I'd seen loads of reviews on how excellent the cobras are and figured a small pair would to perfect for undoing or gripping in all manor of basic DIY. Yes, the handles are short on this version, but because the head locks, you can concentrate your force on turning rather than squeezing.
Use them all the time, more comfortable than their American counterparts. Great grip, use the for big rigid conduits, up to 4". Put all my weight onto them, while it may only be 170 pounds, I have really pounded on these pliers with no slippage. I use them to tighten couplings in the threading machine without incident, I say this because a Klein pair met their demise this way. They are heavier than your standard 480 big azz channel locks. I like them a lot. I use them a lot. They get borrowed a lot. Lots of compliments.
