Only a four for now, like the thought of one tool apposed to a side cutter and pliers for terminating cables.First impressions, well made as knipex always are, a bit fiddling to use initially and the narrow pliers which tapers take a little getting used to doubling cores. With a little more use i think this will prove to be a good buy.

The front part-twice less then a standard pair of pliers. The cutters part is good,but should be at the front. Difficult to strip cable already wired in a switch or socket.If you need to cut a cable short(for example stripping out old installation)you need a standard side cutters. For me it is a waste of money,as still need a pair of pliers and a side cutters.This tool would not replace them.Wish I didnt buy them.

This is a fantastic pair of pliers with numerous uses. I hardly ever use any other pair now. Great for conduit debuting too. The only very small gripe is that the end of the pliers are not serrated all the way but I can live with that.
Great all in one pliers, no need to switch between tools as often. Feels great in the hand, lightweight and strong. Used with twin and earth solid cable and flexible stranded cable
Two significant defects on this plier mean that it does not fulfill the objectives for which I acquired it after a few weeks of use. First fault: the stripping function is not good. It does not cut the insulation well unlike the cutting pliers of the same brand to which the 1.5 and 2 mm cable stripping function has been added to the main cutting function. Second fault: the beaks are not ribbed to the ends which are smooth, resulting in poor grip at the end. A bit of a shame for long-nose pliers for which this is precisely the function. So I have an old Carrefour pliers which fulfills this purpose perfectly for a price 5 times lower. Very good tool, the pliers are multifunctional and very qualitative. It strips cables perfectly without damaging them. It cuts without crushing. Very satisfied with my purchase, I highly recommend.

The stripping portion of this plier is not American Wire Guage compatible. For some reason, Home Depot is carrying the European version, which is designed to strip metric wire that is too different in size from A.W.G. to make this tool usable. This is plainly outlined in the Knipex USA catalog. The USA version is Knipex 13 82 8.Hopefully Home Depot will start ordering the right tool?
the cable cutter part is very good and effective, opens too wide for normal sized hands (9) and therefore difficult to hold open, the wire stripper part is not ergonomic: you need space around it to pull in a perpendicular manner, no support for the thumb to counter the movement, the pliers are much too big, hinder the other functions, the angular gords hurt, add weight, limit access in tight places, the finish of the metal is underneath everything (it looks like it's cast in sand) but the cutting parts are well sharpened. For this price, this brand, I will not buy again.
