Bike Alarm

Was feeling like I needed an extra degree of security. Very happy with this add on to my bike.Still need to understand the app more but Ohm bike has great customer service so I always feel welcome to just stop by and ask questions.

Discreet piece of mind

This is a great little bit of kit to supplement whatever beefy physical lock is also in use. Doubling as both an alarm and a tracker, it is more functional than the basic AirTag, more discreet than most AirTag holders and cheaper than the combined cost of these items. For the piece of mind delivered, it is more than worth the money. It only works with Apple’s Find My network though, so only purchase if you have both an iCloud account and an Apple device with the Find My app on it.

Good Alarm With Limited Range

Easy to fit and operate, but the Bluetooth range was less than expected so, unless one is no more than about 5 m away you have to hope that the deterrent effect of the audible alarm will frighten away a thief be heard by the owner or passer by.

Great idea but range is limited by Bluetooth. Sitting in a restaurant inside blocked the signal.

Thief deterrent

I've been using this whenever I had to go bike to the gym, and one day someone broke through the lockers and stole my bag along with my bike lock keys in it, (they saw my bike helmet and left it alone though.) thankfully my bike was still there when I got out. I'd like to think this served a extra layer of protection from the thief cause unlocking/nudging the bike would instantly sound the alarm and notify my phone. If they did steal it I could always use the 'find my' feature to locate it with my phone.Apparently there was a theft on the lockers a week before and the dude who lost their keys was not so lucky and got his car stolen.

Tracking function not compatible with iPhone SE!

I was initially impressed with the Knog Scout and the alarm function seems to work well enough. However, I could not connect to the tracking ‘Find My’ function. Although it is NOT stated on the Knog website (nor on Pushys’) your iPhone requires the same connectivity as for an Apple AirTag. Turns out, this EXCLUDES iPhone SE versions 1, 2 and 3 (such as mine). So, unless I upgrade my iPhone, I either need to return the unit or I have purchased a pretty expensive alarm. Can’t give it any more than three stars in the circumstances.
