This ereader has a lot of things goind for it. It's size, shape and button placement are excellent. The display is very good. I want to love the Libra H2O, but two things stand in way. First, overall performance is quite poor. The ereader struggles with longer books and frequently stall for a 10-20 seconds. Second, my H2O died after just 14 months of light use. Kobo did replace it, but my experience with the replacement will likely be the same.Despite all the negatives, I've read more on the H2O than ever did on my Kindle Paper White. It's ability to load EPUB books has open a whole world of free to low-cost books not available to Kindle owners.

Upgrading from a Clara HD and the experience has been a worthy improvement. Reading now feels like holding a mass market paperback in the amount of words that can fit on the page. The buttons are quiet and unobtrusive. They allow the reading experience to be seamless and being able to switch between hands without disruption makes this reader worth every penny.I was on the fence about getting a Libra because while I want the buttons I cannot use them at night if they are loud as I do not wish to disrupt my wife. I read at night with one hand, using my pinkie at the bottom to help hold the reader while I'm reclined. I can easily swap hands and the Libra screen switches quickly and I just keep going without getting pulled from the story. I have read more books on this device in just a few weeks than I have with my Clara in a year. It is absolutely amazing and has changed the way I read.There are no other readers, in my mind, that compare on the market to what the Libra offers me. If you're looking for a good reader with buttons for a price that won't make you feel guilty, the Libra is an amazing product and I highly recommend it.

I was on the fence on whether to get this or the more popular big name brand readers and I'm glad, and so is my wallet, that I chose this. You get the same screen, tactile buttons, and extra features not included in other mainstream readers for about half the price in comparison. The battery life is incredible lasting what feels like weeks on the same charge. I use the calibre library to track and upload my epub files onto this flawlessly with hardly any learning curve. The UI is impressive too because you can switch orientation and it auto switches for you from portrait to landscape mode. I love having the tactile buttons too versus only having a touch screen option to turn pages.8/10 I would recommend this reader. I hope this review is helpful.

I have had nothing but success with this device. It's been snappy and responsive for me, the power button is well placed, the rotating screen is wonderful, and I'm thoroughly enjoying the amber light filter at night. One more thing I didn't think would be that big of a deal but has become one of my top favorites about this device is the slide brightness. By sliding your finger up and down on the left side of the very edge of the screen, you can adjust the backlight without ever having to get into a menu. I use it all the time now. \nOf course kindle also doesn't have overdrive (or at least the ones that I had didn't), and the other important thing, they didn't have Pocket integration. (Pocket a website to save all your articles you come across to read later) With Pocket integration I can simply pull up articles on my Kobo now and read them wherever. I prefer e-ink reading over my phone screen so I barely use their app anymore now that I can read all my articles from my e-reader. \nThe only downside I've found is that their prices aren't competitive with Amazon, but that just comes with Amazon being able to afford to undermine the competition and likely stiffing the authors. Still, I am glad I made the switch and will never look back. I love my Kobo e-reader and will/have highly recommended it to friends and family.

After playing around with this Kobo, though, I decided to stick with the older Kindle. The Kobo is nice enough which is why I gave it 4 stars. If I didn't already have my Kindle I'd probably think it's great. The build quality is good, I appreciate the side buttons for turning pages, and the adjustable light is fine. But I enjoy the screen without the backlight more, the response time to open documents or start up was slower than the kindle, and wifi connectivity was pretty poor on the Kobo. My 1st Kobo Libra similarly due to display controller (vertical & horizontal lines on screen even though touch screen still worked perfectly). Both devices in cases with screen protector from the moment they were unpacked. How long this one will last is anyone's guess. đ
