I pair it with a circulator fan for even more efficient whole-room circulation.

Perfect solution for third floor bedroom. A split system would cost $6-7k at that height, and if repairs are needed, I would have to pay thousands for someone to take it down and reinstall. Too costly and risky. This aircon does away with that hassle. It works beautifully and makes a massive difference to well being. Easy to install and quiet enough.

Easy to install however the height and width of the product is not the minimum height and width for the window required. The Bracket you receive has a minimum 850mm height requirement (ie window can't be smaller than that) and 450mm width as per the manual. I did manage to squeeze the baffle in a little further to accommodate the mounting bracket to my window size of 830mm (only just)Apart from that, cools a 6 x 6 meter room very well and is quiet enough to watch TV. The ambient temperature notification is good, except you have to keep telling people the number they are seeing is the current room temp, not the air con temp, then you have to push up or down to prove it to them. Then you have to get into a mini argument about how it doesn't matter if the air ... MoreEasy to install however the height and width of the product is not the minimum height and width for the window required. Great air con for renters with easy install.

Have only 2 slimline windows which are 400mm wide, I had to remove the sliding window for this to fit but doesn’t cause an issue & was easy. It’s pretty quiet, has a humme to it but it’s an air con they all have some noise but can’t see it bothering me at night (& I hate noise while I’m trying to sleep).Took me about 20mins to install 1 person no issues. Cools down the room quickly & the light at the front turns off in sleep mode.Super happy with this product so far.I was skeptical wandering if it would be secure enough but it is & I used the protection plates to save any marks on the window sill so no damage.Thank you Kogan for making an air con that I can use in my house. If you are a renter looking for an aircon: This is what you need.
30 December 2020

So first up: Kogan contacted us and let us know before I received this that it was a 1.75kW unit instead of a 2kW, however we received store credit for the difference so no drama there. Still taken one star off though, just because it was a delay that didn't need to happen. The unit itself is great.Installation is easy, but depending on your window you might want some tape to just seal up some areas that the included weather stripping won't.Cooling wise, I bought this to replace a noisy floor standing portable aircon and the difference is night and day, even though it's far less powerful than what it replaced. This is due mainly to how horrid the rear ducting is for those styles, as it generates so much excess heat, which this unit vents directly out the window ... MoreSo first up: Kogan contacted us and let us know before I received this that it was a 1.75kW unit instead of a 2kW, however we received store credit for the difference so no drama there. The old portable one was 60db+ at the same spot, but it was also a more annoying sound vs this ones low rumble. All in all, great product for renters.

Really Cost-Effective and Compact
18 September 2021

I love this thing - the price was right and there's no tubing meaning it's a lot less bulky in a room. Easy to install and honestly it cools down the room in a few minutes. The only thing I have for feedback:When it's on auto mode and it picks up that the temp. is higher than it should be, it's fairly noisy for a couple of minutes as it works to cool the room down. Sort of wish it were not so noisy but for the price, it's not a huge deal. Otherwise it's quiet and definitely quiet enough to sleep with. The display shines a little brightly even when the unit is off. Seems like being able to turn off the display could have been an easy thing to include but, again not a deal-breaker.

Significantly better than a portable AC
18 February 2021

I had previously bought a vostok 2.9kw portable AC from Kogan and was disappointed with it.This product uses almost half as much power, is much quieter, and cools my 23m³ room way more effectively. Left it on max for 2 hours during the day and it reached 19°C.The installation was fairly straightforward but the manual could be a little more specific. Also it is pretty much a 2-man job (it's heavy). My only problem with this AC so far is the bright lights that cannot be turned off. Even in sleep mode, the single lit icon basically lights up my entire room when I am trying to sleep. If you are able to install it, definitely choose this AC instead of a portable one. So much better.

it works not like the in room portable air conditioners

I took a punt on this unit as I have tried 4 different in room air conditioners with the tube that gets so hot and is supposed to expel the hot air out the window. I had purchased the highest powered portable unit which struggled to reduce the temperature even 3 degrees below an over 28 degree heat. Qld, Brisbane summer. Even though this unit is under 2 Kwatts it was able to reduce a 36 degree day down to 25 degrees in a 5x5 room. If the temp is under 28 degrees it was able to bring the room temp down to 22 degrees. If left on moving into the night I have had it at 18 degrees. Easy to install in sliding windows and with screens installed as it intrudes into the room rather than to the outside. pretty bad

Do not buy! Manual is useless and you'll have to watch a video for installation. The unit is really loud (I was under the impression that it would be quieter from other people's comments). Has trouble reaching the desired temperature in a 3x3 room. It's advertised for up to 20m² but seems pretty inefficient even in a 9m² room. Terrible purchase, if you can avoid then avoid.
