I bought two of this in 2020, eventually one failed and I bought another one in 2023 to replace the one that has failed.The failed part is the plastic bit within the device which pulls the stainless steel chain, other than that, the device is awesome and affordable.I have the blinds scheduled to open and close at a certain day, I can also control the blinds using the wireless remote or the phone app.I must say, if the part did not fail, I would have given this five stars!Kogan, please allow us to buy the plastic part so in the future we won't need to purchase another device. Thanks!

Great product in that it will open and close the blind. Not too noisy either. But it only has limited compatibility with Google Home. You are able to ask the blind to open and close, and you can specify a % (e.g. open to 50%). You cannot add it to a routine or schedule (e.g. a morning routine where things turn on automatically) and cannot stop it once it has begun to open or close.

Great product in that it will open and close the blind. Not too noisy either. But it only has limited compatibility with Google Home. You are able to ask the blind to open and close, and you can specify a % (e.g. open to 50%). The pinnacle of laziness, is being able to not have to Open the Blinds in the Morning, or Shut them at Night yourself! FirstWorldProblems! Automated Waking up with Sun shining in to the Room, and the Gradual Winding of the Motor turning the cord has been strangely satisfying.Weak (broken) screws are not a deal breaker - but annoying start to installation.Voice control has been fun during the day; having the blinds close as we're about to start a movie is a Fun Novelty to the at Home Cinema Experience.This is a Must have for the person who has everything, or just wants to automate the blinds, because it's awesome.
Bought two of these. Quite easy to install. Work well. Very flexible - can be controlled by voice with Google Nest/ Alexa, or with the remote control, mobile app or using buttons on the unit itself. BUT... first time I plugged in the 2nd power supply, there was a flash and that lovely electric smell... Dead power supply. Too much hassle to try and replace. Luckily I have numerous 12V 1A chargers hanging around and one was the right polarity and plug size so I am up and running. 5 stars if it wasn't for the lack of Quality Control and testing.
It's one of those products where you wonder how you managed before you got it. We have now converted all the blinds in the house to these units. They are easy to set up and work really well. You can control them remotely as well as set up automated scenes with them.
When purchased i thought the unit had an internal battery that would be charged. Images of the product does not clearly show nor product description states that the power cord is required to be inserted to operate . Lucky the blind positions have power close by and cable can be tucked away so they are not too visible.Overall the installation and limit Setting easy.The app to schedule operation is easy to use.Blinds opened and closed as scheduled.Motor a lad noise on start up then quieter during operation.Can not comment on long term as I have just installed them. So for everything seem to be working.
I tried another brand of a smart blind driver but it couldn't lift my blinds which are approximately 3m wide and 2m tall. The Kogan one with twice the rated torque is able to lift it fine.The motor is a bit noisy but it doesn't bother me. Long cord is convenient and relatively easy to install. Installation instructions were a bit misleading (the hole drill card doesn't make sense so I just used a pencil to draw the outline).Also didn't bother with the Kogan app since I already use the Tuya Smart app which works perfectly with this.
I have only installed one of the motors in our bedroom as a test so far, and it works great. For anyone experiencing slipping etc, it most likely just needs a slight adjustment. I had it slip a little initially, but lowering it 1 or 2 mm more fixed that.The app works well and as does the remote. Easy to setup. I plan to see if they can be used with Home Assistant, but as they are pretty much a set and forget device, so if not, no deal breaker for me anyway ;)I also like that these are mains powered so no need to worry about replacing batteries or whether the motor is strong enough - I haven't used battery operated blind motors, but I'd imaging they wouldn't have the same strength of a mains powered motor - and lucky for me, all our blinds have power points ... MoreI have only installed one of the motors in our bedroom as a test so far, and it works great. I bought this to automate a block out blind for the back sliding door. The set up with the backing plate was easy as well as setting up the directions on the roller blind. The pairing of the remote went well as setting up the app with Google home.I am using a powerbank to power this as the PowerPoint is far away.Very happy at the moment everything is working well so far.
