This ball is just every dog chewers owners dream find. I've just ordered my second one in 7 years and I have a very large rescue American bulldog who used to destroy and swallow any and every other dogs balls. I became too scared to give her any type of ball or toy as she would just take it and run off and eat it. Thanks to this kong ball we have had years of fun and no vets as she is just unable to get through it. It does become only slightly softer over the years but you will know when it needs to be changed, but hey 7 years of happy dog and totally happy owner. Highly recommended, 5 stars is not enough for this ball.

This ball is indestructible and my dog loves it, he carried it around with him all day. At one point I wedged a chew into it! That went well for a while as he could get the last bit out for ages. Money well spent.

This is Rusty's second Kong ball. The black extreme has been missing for several months - probably under a mountain of leaves. Being an ex-farm Kelpie X, Rusty loves to "herd" the ball through the porch fence and then stand there barking until you open the gate so he can rush down to retrieve it. He is very hard on tennis balls (one play) and soccer/basketballs but the Kong is tough.

Great option - and investment - for throwing around to dogs outside or rolling around in the house - as the ball is puncture proof and really bouncy so is quite fun to throw and watch the dogs scramble to fetch it. Just got sick of going through low quality balls. Also doubles as a boredom breaker to stuff with food for them, if we need, but all round a very good quality and durable ball that will last the distance.
The KONG ball comes in two sizes; I have several of both sizes and they are the longest lasting "fetch balls" I have bought for my dogs. I used to buy tennis balls and have them all over the yard but they would get muddy or water logged which resulted in them not bouncing. Even though the KONG balls cost more than a tube of cheap tennis balls, they last long and as soon as the dogs see me pick one up to throw it they are super excited and ready for some fetch. The small KONG ball has a hole in it so you can add a treat to it; even if you add something to the inside of it you are still going to be able to bounce it. The larger dogs will go after this if I throw it but they aren't all that interested in trying to get whatever is inside it if I slide a small bone or ... MoreThe KONG ball comes in two sizes; I have several of both sizes and they are the longest lasting "fetch balls" I have bought for my dogs. The large ball is solid and I can launch it all the way to the back of the yard with no problem; I think they have only destroyed one of these since I started buying them. Most of the pet stores in the area have KONG products but they might not have the ball in both sizes. This past Christmas my dogs got a couple of the large balls from friends as well as the Extreme KONG (black version) ball. For whatever reason they don't play with the black one (Extreme) as much as they do with the regular red KONG ball; maybe it's the color or the way that it bounces but they clearly like the original version more. If you have a dog that is tough on balls or you want something that is easy to clean then this is something that's worth the selling price.
I have a Bassett Hound puppy, who is 3 1/2 months old & likes to chew everything! This ball is durable enough for him to chew all he wants without coming apart! All of the tennis ball type of balls were to easy for him to pull all of the fuzz off of & I worried that he was injesting the fuzz! This ball bounces great & because of the hole through the middle, it’s unpridictable which way it will go, which makes it even more fun for him to chase...and for us to watch. He loves it!! We have not used any treats in the middle. Great exercise for him! Glad we bought this ball!
I bought this as a gift but couldn't use it because the rubber had black marks that wouldn't come off. So, I gave it to my (8.5kg) poodle, but it is a very hard rubber of approx. tennis ball size. Too hard and heavy for him to catch. Best for a bigger dog.
This is the only ball (plus the kong black one) that has lasted with my 14 months staffy since we bought it months ago. He constantly chews on it and hasn't broke at all. Yes it is a bit heavier to throw but we can still play fetch with it. I saw some reviews saying is too hard as it might hit the dog but for my staffy he actually heads butt the ball to catch it ( I throw the ball against the wall) and he loves it!
Ball is made of a very durable and hard rubber. The one I bought is bigger than a tennis ball, but my 65lb goldador-newfie pup can hold it in her mouth easily. She enjoys playing fetch with it or catching it when it bounces high in the air. I also like that there is a rather big hole on the side that I use to throw the ball to avoid all the drool or whatever nastiness is on the ground of the dog park. Because it is hard rubber it gets a lot of bounce. I also like to fling it against a concrete wall and it just bounces all over the place. On top of that I see no damage besides scuff marks that usually just wash away.
I read the reviews for this toy before buying it because my mastiff/pit bull mix is a very heavy chewer and few toys are really durable. Given that people were saying it was very long lasting I got it. The dog went nuts for it right away as expected, since he loves balls and especially tennis balls, but a throw toy? No way, he never put it down a second and was determined to get to the tennis ball inside. Unfortunately, it took him about 20-30 minutes to breach the rubber and it was all downhill from there. Within an hour the ball was replaced by two rubber lids. In fact the handles on the ball made it easier for the dog to tear it apart because eventually he would stick his paw on one and hold the ball down while he was pulling on it with his teeth from the other ... MoreI read the reviews for this toy before buying it because my mastiff/pit bull mix is a very heavy chewer and few toys are really durable. Trust me, if you have a heavy chewer steer clear.
