The BD II XD is the successor to the dark green BD XD series that arrived in 2014. Now with newly designed, slightly more elongated housing in magnesium alloy coated with a light green rubber reinforcement. The focus wheel is plastic but looks like metal. The eyecups have intermediate positions for full adjustment regardless of whether you wear glasses (screwed down cups) or not (screwed up cups). Kowa uses a proprietary optical glass with a high content of fluorite crystal that they call XD. It provides high light transmission and good color reproduction with a minimum of chromatic aberration (color bleeding). The outer lenses are treated with a hydrophobic coating (KR) which facilitates use in wet weather and cleaning. The BDII 8x42 XD WA Prominar has a really large field of view and good brightness, making this a perfect pair of binoculars for the bird watcher who demands the best of everything. The low weight for the class ensures that this can become a modern classic. Supplied with bag, wide comfort strap in neoprene, eyepiece and lens cover.
