I really wanted to like this clamp more, especially considering I love the Kreg 3-in handscrew Clamps I bought several months ago, and they seem to have the market cornered on pocket screw assembly. I bought 4 of these. The first two would not clamp at all no matter the material thickness - I tried 1/4" plywood, 1/2" and 3/4" pine boards. I tried adjusting tension with the screw - but nothing. Returned those and bought two more. One had the same problem - wouldn't clamp no matter what I tried. The other did clamp, and I was able to see the handle mechanism adjusting and how it should operate (this mechanism was fixed and stuck in the three others). However, the tension was very weak with this clamp. So I adjusted the tension screw - still wouldn't clamp tight. Then, the mechanism got stuck and is now broken - won't clamp at all. Complete garbage.

If you read through reviews and Kreg's responses to customers, they are FULLY aware that this is a defective product; whether by design or a large batch manufacturing defect. DO NOT BUY ONE without testing it first (which of course, would require removing the packaging).Just bought a whole line of Kreg products as a first time buyer for a custom closet buildout as they were highly recommended and this is not a good first impression.

Kreg tools are now made in China, and complete junk. Do not buy a Chinese made Kreg product. The used 90 degree corner clamps that I purchased did not adjust properly, so I returned them. The clamp would not fully close with or without wood inserted in them. I went to a Lowe's store a few days later, and saw brand new Kreg corner clamps on the shelf. I tested them and none of them worked properly either. This is a totally useless product. Good intentions, horrible execution and poor quality control. Kreg needs to make this product at their HQ's, or in the USA, after getting proper consultation from a reputable tool maker.

I have other Kreg tools and was hesitant to by these and now I know why. The darned thing sticks and either wont release or it binds up and the adjuster inside of the handle gets literally stuck down. I have tried everything includind a very small dab of oil and it still sticks and binds up. Making it a two handed job just to get it loose from the workpiece. I bought this because the Woodpecker Brand corner jigs are on back order. I'm gonna order them instead now. The First set of four of these clamps was a disaster. One of them was a nearly worked. It only took about 45 minutes of work to get it working. I have a lot of Kreg products and they have all been outstanding quality. The place where I bought gave me a refund and I bought my current set direct from Kreg website. About 15 minutes work on each made them about 95% acceptable. I have several corner clamp sets that work far better.I will remain a huge Kreg tool fan as they are great tools. I will not abandum a really great company over one tool misfire.

I called Kreg and gave them all the information so they'd be able to persue the culprits. Unfortunately, I never got my money back from Amazon or the Chinese company but I kept the clamp. It worked surprisingly well but fell apart after two years so I ordered and received an authentic Kreg 90 degree clamp. This time I couldn't get the authentic Kreg clamp to work at all. It wouldn't close, adjust, or clamp anything but 1/4" stock. So I decided to go to Lowe's today and buy one off the shelf. They had two there. One wouldn't close at all. I bought two Kreg corner clamps several years ago. Not pleased at all. These are very hard to align on corners. I own many Kreg tools and these are by far the worst. Every time I try to use these they end up back in the drawer. Design needs to incorporate a way to holds boards at the bottom instead of the top. Save your money and don't buy these.
Worked great the first 2 corners I did. Got to the third corner and I couldn't close the clamp. Tried the tension in lowering and tightening and the clamp still didn't work. I was really hoping that this clamp would help me and was excited to use it. What a disappointment it was. Have been looking for something else now that would help.
Worked great. Takes a few first attempts to learn how to adjust tension and align, but once they clamp very easy to use and adjust quickly. Made assembling a large entryway cubby and seat by myself very easy. Wish I had these on previous builds
