I watched video reviews of various individuals regarding this specific pocket-hole jig. As expected some reviews were critical. I have used a an older Kreg pocket hole jig for years but needed to upgrade, primarily for the advantage of speed. This 720PRO is incredible. I am able to hammer out multiple pocket holes in no time at all. I am so pleased with this purchase and it is well worth the price. I mounted the system onto a 12x24 inch, 1/2 inch thick birch plywood board. I would purchase again in a heartbeat based upon my experience with this Jig.

The Kreg 720 pocket hole jig worked great for me on a project i was working on. It required a lot of pocket holes abs i wanted an upgrade from the small Kreg pocket hole jig.I've seen some reviews stating that there wasn't a mounting option built into this jig however that must have been addressed as there were mounting holes in the one I purchased with instructions on mounting it to plywood. The chip collection on this jig worked flawlessly hooked up to my dust collector, better than i expected. The only negative i experienced was that the clamping mechanism that clamps the board and is also the drill guide didn't always set on its own. I'd have to press it all the way down to seat it with one hand than clamp it with the other. Overall, so far so good. I haven't done the math, but I'm certain that this kit saved me quiet a bit of money if I had bought the included items separate. It Drills tight, holds right, and packs light. LOVE that it's a multi-use tool. Drill jig, micro-jig, plug cutter. It clamps pretty tight and is spot on with width and angle pre-measurements. Longevity of the guide blocks is TBD.I'm not a fan of the plastic (hard plastic storage, plastic mounting clips and hinges) for any tool that, more often than not, will be used in/under fairly rough conditions. The K5 was the "Bee's knees" and was a tank, but not very agile.. this is pretty agile but not solid enough to even be a M113. One would think a "new and improved" model would take the best of both worlds (I suppose ...Ā MoreOverall, so far so good. They could have also made replacement guide block a little cheaper considering you WILL eventually have to replace it due to the plastic casting.

Iā have the small, 2 hole one where you have to clamp to the surface and it works great for only a couple of holes. When you need to to multiple holes this is hands down the best one. Super easy to clamp down to your work surface and the side storage boxes are great to help support the wood if doing long pieces. I can have a piece of wood clamped down to it and drilled within 10 seconds and on the the next. Itās fast and easy to adjust do different thicknesses and actually prefer it to the Foreman. Maybe if I had my own workshop and have the Foreman properly setup into a table itād be better for building cabinets and such. This is great to take on the job site and it clamps down horizontally, vertically, upside down, and sideways to cabinets with ease! Also love how ...Ā MoreIā have the small, 2 hole one where you have to clamp to the surface and it works great for only a couple of holes. I have had an earlier model for years. Upgraded to this model. It doesn't seem nearly as sturdy. I like the adjustable tension and the quick set. The support wings come off very easily and don't see sturdy at all. It is very easy to use, but lacks the heft of the earlier models. It was very reasonable, I think that I paid more for the earlier model which uses a simple piston to hold the work in place, but the sacrifice was a less durable product. I already had several bits, which was good because the tip of the new bit broke the first time I used it. This model doesn't handle nearly the size that the earlier model could accommodate, but for 1/2 inch to 1 1/4 inch it seems fine. Anything much beyond that and the press won't fully depress to lock the piece in ...Ā MoreI have had an earlier model for years. Upgraded to this model. It doesn't seem nearly as sturdy. I can see having to replace this in just a few years, and I have had my old model for almost 20 now and it still works.
This is my first pocket hole jig. It's super easy to use and very intuitive. I like the way the clamping thing automatically sets the jig at the right depth so there's basically nothing to fiddle with when you use boards of different thickness other than the stop collar. The main parts of it seem sturdy. I gave four stars instead of five because the plastic parts that help lock the wings to the main body for storage keep popping off. I put them back on and they hold but it's things like this that separate a four-star product from a five-star product.Nevertheless, I recommend it to anyone who does not already have a pocket hole jig. The kit I bought came with an extra clamp to hold wood pieces together, another pocket hole jig that is separate so you can use it ...Ā MoreThis is my first pocket hole jig. This is by far one of the worst pocket hole jigs I've purchased from Kreg. I have two other older models, and they are still working good. Was hoping to upgrade, but this is not the case. As others have mentioned the side wings are made of very thin plastic, and they're flimsy for sure. But the worst for me is that when you drill your holes into your wood using the the two center holes on the drill block, the two holes exit at different lengths, meaning one is closer to the edge of the stock than the other. It looks very strange. If you're using dark wood hole plugs on light wood it truly looks bad. Not sure if all the 720 Pro models are like this, but mine is for sure.
I really love the pocket hole jig itself. Very well built and well designed. However the docking station that came with it is a little less to be desired. Itās very flimsy and not a very well thought out design. The clip that holds the station in the storage position keeps popping off of mine on one side. The other side, the docking station keeps popping off, even though I have the little āLegoā piece snapped firmly in place. On top of that the placement is just bad when you have your hose attached for dust extraction. You canāt open the thing without detaching the hose! A little inconvenient if you ask me? Iām a little disappointed in the docking station to be honest as I was going to purchase it separately for $60, but then waited and got this set for $25 cheaper ...Ā MoreI really love the pocket hole jig itself. If you want a speedy pock-hole tool, this is the one. Comes with a table top clamp to hold it in a couple different position making life just a little easier. It comes with a goofy looking plastic candy bar shape with a vacuum port on one end and this thing was well thought out and clears the wood chips quickly. This thing paid for itself in my first kitchen remodel, from cabinet building to flooring repair helping with adding braces between the joists. There is one negative thing and it may only be me, the side storage the clips on pops off every time I move them. These would great if you have the room to set it up, lock it down and leave it in place. I do not have that luxury.
Up until 2 or 3 months ago I had very little experience with pocket holes in general. I'm a 58 yr old career carpenter. I first bought the 320 hand pocket hole jig to see if It was a viable solution for some fastening requirements. It was slow to position and use, though I liked the strength of the joint. I bought this 720pro for in the shop. I drilled 32 holes in various drawer assembly pieces. It's fast, and consistent for repetitive hole locations. This thing is built for speed and convenience. It's relatively sturdy but not as sturdy as a full metal build would be. But, what you give up in sturdiness is made up for by excellent design and quick setup. If this design was manufactured in 100% aluminum and steel it would cost at least triple of what this unit sells ...Ā MoreUp until 2 or 3 months ago I had very little experience with pocket holes in general. I'm happy with this purchase.
