Kristin Ess Scalp Purifying Micellar Shampoo 296ml

Kristen ess hair has added micelles, like from your favorite micellar water, to shampoo. And it's amazing! I suffer from oily roots but dry ends, plus I live in an area with really hard water which is rough on my dark blonde hair. This shampoo cleans all that without drying my hair out or any of the other things that are too harsh about my usual clarifying shampoo. This comes with a nozzle which allows you to put it directly on the scalp. I don't necessarily need it because I have very fine type 1 hair, but I can appreciate that those with other hair types will really like this. I don't really do well with fragrance, particularly in my haircare, but this has a light, sweet scent (maybe coconut?) that fades and doesn't bother me at all. It's $12 for 10oz which is a decent price, but look for a sale! I got it on sale at Ulta, I know it's also at Target. If you love micellar water for your skin, you have to try it on your hair!!

I thought I would never find a shampoo for my extremely oily, fine, straight hair. I’ve tried drugstore I’ve tried stylist recommended, always with the same result- every day wash. I learned about Kristin Ess via a VoxBox of quality hair accessories, so I took a chance and spent a bit more than I planned. I would have paid double if I knew how awesome it would be. It took a couple tries to part my hair with the nozzle and ensure I’m not squeezing too much product on the scalp. I just slowly add more until it foams over my whole scalp. I haven’t scratched my head ALL DAY LONG!!!! And I washed my hair before bed last night. Smells like I just walked out of the salon, right now still. You know the smell. Do it, BUY IT! Especially my oily haired gals!

My scalp has been dry itchy/ burning for weeks (no dandruff) and I stumbled across this product at the store. I am so happy I did! My scalp was instantly soothed. My hair has also been really dry crispy from the harsh winter and it feels substantially silkier after just one use. Such a nice surprise since it wasn’t the purpose for buying it it saved me from having to buy another product! It also became really thick/ luxurious with a small amount used and washed out really easily. It was nice and gentle too, yet effective. I also really liked the spout that allowed you to apply straight to the scalp. Also good price for size. Nothing but good things to say!

Did not clean, like syrup

I had high hopes and tried, but this was a big no. The shampoo is hard to get out because it's so thick, the applicator would be great if the shampoo was easier to dispense. And then it would not suds up well in my hair no matter how much I added. I love getting really sudsy and getting in my scalp, but this was like syrup going in. Very thick and sticky, did nothing.And then after drying, my hair was weighed down, not as shiny and got greasy super quick. Tried it twice, once using another shampoo after and still looked awful. Went back to just my other favorite shampoo and my hair looked good again, and stayed clean longer like it did before this!I usually don't leave bad reviews, but this product really needs improvement it was so disappointing.

I use this daily!

This might be my favorite shampoo of all time. It’s incredibly gentle and cleansing. I don’t know how they did it. Don’t let the “weekly use” recommendation keep you from buying this. I use this EVERY SINGLE DAY and I have normal to oily hair after 2 days, straight, and naturally blonde hair that can get dry very easily with cheap shampoos. Garnier makes my hair fall out and this never has. No PEG-100 here! I love the scent and the matching conditioner that’s hard to find. I have the Kristin ess perfume set and this is also my favorite perfume in her whole line. Smell it at the store and you’ll buy it instantly. Never get rid of this shampoo! But I’d take a price cut anytime 😬

Kristin Ess Scalp Purifying Micellar Shampoo

This is the first time using it, It a definitely and OMG product. I put way to much on at the first wash, this was with me following the directions on the bottle. I do have to say that it ladders incredibly and you hear an audible squeak when you rinse it out. With my second I was a lot more reserved, only using a 1/4 of the recommended amount, with less you find you get a better result. I use it once a week and only if I have used a lot of other products in my hair, I will use it the next day. Awesome shampoo.

Love at first wash

My hair feels soft, fluffy and clean after use!

My hair was getting greasy at the crown due to product build up. I have wavy hair so I was using pomade, oil and other styling creams. I noticed that even after washing my hair- it would still remain thick and hard to pull my fingers through at the crown. It was not flowing freely. I tried this last night and used my normal conditioner. I let my hair air dry and woke up this morning to beautiful, clean and bouncy hair!! My hair feels like virgin hair honestly. It did not over strip. My hair feels extremely soft. Most importantly my hair feels clean! I read a few reviews that mentioned the shampoo could not lather up. I did not have this issue at all. New favourite shampoo

I was interested in purchasing this to give my oily scalp some TLC. I gotta say I was pleasantly surprised how much I loved this shampoo. It's very gentle and the applicator tip is chef's kiss. I have long very fine oily hair and this product cleans my scalp without stripping it of essential oils. I use it without conditioning my ends and it's no problem! My only dislike is the scent to me smells very masculine, but the fragrance dissapates pretty quickly. I highly recommend this shampoo, your hair will feel so so soft and clean.

One of the Worst Shampoos I've Ever Tried

This is truly horrible. And that is coming from someone who in general likes Kristen Ess products. My husband was the first to break the ice saying - is it just me or does this shampoo SUCK? And he's 100% right. I have lots of fine hair - he has lots of medium thick hair. On both of us it coats the hair in some weird substance and makes the hair feel dirty. Ironic, given it is "Purifying". Yeah, right. It weighs the hair down like almost no shampoo I've ever used. Smell is ok, nothing special. But lastly the bottle although a great concept is horrific. With wet hands you can not open and close the top of the bottle! You can't even unscrew the entire cap and use the shampoo that way. Really bad.
