I got these Powered Monitors to accompany the XDJ RX2, and after extensive review prior to the purchase, I must say, I'm glad i went with these. Besides the outstanding quality and legacy the Rokit line has behind them, i can see why these are the go to monitors for many renowned DJs home studio set up. They have the potential to get REALLY REALLY loud with absolutely no loss of sound quality during track playback. A feature I noticed while having the monitors on after not using the RX2, which was left on to update my tracks on the computer, was that they go into a power saving state, which was noticed by the dimming of light produced on the "KRK Systems" logo on the front of the speaker (which itself is a pretty cool feature!). Looking forward for its use in the long run, and would recommend these monitors for anyone who wants clear, crisp audio in their homes or studios.

After using Genelecs from 2005-2019, I tried something new. Wow. I’m truly amazed at the sound. I started hearing things in my mixes that I never heard before. The KRK G4 8’s are simply amazing. I now understand why everyone uses them. They are beautiful and inspire you to create great music. These are perfect if you don’t want to guess what you’re hearing. I wish these were around in 2005. Genelecs $2700 vs $600 KRKs? Get 4 pairs of KRKs. Or get each size. You won’t regret these.Enjoy making music all over again.

Don't be fooled by the fact that it is an 8" speaker, the awesome box it comes in is big so take that into consideration when designing your space. I had to basically set my studio up from scratch again to accommodate these bad boys, but it made everything about my set up much better and really improved my mixes. The features in the back are awesome, very customizable, plenty of knobs, inputs and outputs to meet all your needs. Reading the manual is a wise use of your time because it will help you get these beasts set up the right way. Great volume and tone in these guys. I bought it with the matching sub and it is money well spent, I am very happy with this purchase!

Sound:I finally upgraded from the rigged up home stereo, and headphones. That Bass is so clean. It doesn't rattle my windows, or walls, or anything for that matter. The sound stays inside the speakers. That's always been one of my biggest problems with Bass. It travels and vibrates everything, kind of annoying and distracting when your hear stuff rattling WITH your music. This is my first pair of studio monitors. Not speakers but monitors. Improvise and make due with what you have until you're able to upgrade right? I've had some gnarly sound systems, but never any actual studio monitors until I got these. Honestly they're perfect. They are the perfect monitors for the home studio.Features:I love the digital eq parameter on the back of each monitor. It allows ultimate flexibility for dialing in the sound exactly how you want it. The general aesthetic of it is pretty dope too. They also have an app for iphone/android so its literally made for anyone who's anyone. I love that universal compatibility. It simplifies a lot.Ease of Use:It was pretty self explanatory. For being my first set of monitor speakers all I did was unbox them, hook them up to my interface, cranked them on, dialed in the sound. Boom done! It doesn't get any easier.Quality:You can tell they took their time engineering these speakers. They're very well crafted. I see me using these for several years before I even think about getting another pair. It's got an 8 inch speaker, and a little 1 inch tweeter. Don't let that fool you. These speakers were much bigger than I expected. All the sound stays inside the speaker. It makes a huge difference when it comes to canceling out all the excess noise& vibrations. Windows, stuff on shelves, doors, etc. Very well crafted.Value:The price is fair. In my honest opinion. I wouldn't say they're overpriced, and they're definitely not cheap. Thanks to zounds, guys/girls like me can get their hands on some amazing equipment. The Wow Factor:I didn't NEED the speakers, but I was getting tired of just my headphones. Sometimes I can spend all day in my studio, especially when im off work. Or half a day at the least. After a while those headphones start to hurt and become uncomfortable on the tops of my ears. I generally just wanted to upgrade my studio.Of course I love the general aesthetic of the speakers too. They seriously look bad a$$ just sitting there on my desk with all of my gear. It looks very nice. Gives me more of that "studio feel" and it feels good. It's nice to finally have the option of headphones or speakers. And not just speakers, but speakers that were specifically made for this kind of stuff.Overall:These speakers are the SH!T!!!! They sound so good and they're much bigger than I expected. Clean bass. Literally nothing vibrates or rattles. All that Bass and sound stays inside the speakers. Did I mention that they sound amazing? Shipping was extremely fast. I had them 1 day after ordering. Super happy with these krk8s. I got 1 step down from the krk 10-3. I just need to get my hands on the sub now. This is the prefect size for a home studio. The eq on the back of each monitor is an awesome addition as well, so you can dial in that sound just right. Krk did amazing with these. I can see why they're universally loved. There's nothing to dislike about them. 10/10 perfect studio monitors. You won't be disappointed. As always zZounds rocks, and makes my life so much easier. Aside from local music shops, zZounds is the only place I order from. They've been nothing but good to me. Thank you zZounds for helping me bring me dreams to life!!!!
These are studio monitors not normal speakers. Please be sure you know what you need. You might also need a dedicated power adapter so that you don't get much power noise (via usb cable for instance).Normal speakers modelate sound in a way that you have a better audition experience. Studio monitors like these are designed to give you raw output, exactly how the sound engineers recorded the content. Also due to lack of filters/modelators, it has a small hissing noise. Some test here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ne3xZbrVzo
I found these useless for mixing as the noise floor is so high with hiss (that exists even with no signal input). Hiss is audible 4 metres away and over your source material at a reasonable volume. You can’t mix when for example cymbals are competing with the frequency the speakers are putting out, or if your trying to clean up vocal or acoustic tracks forget it. Great sounding speakers maybe for home DJs and I was tempted to keep them just for party’s but for music production / nearfield purposes I would look elsewhere. PMT were brilliant as always and took them back with no fuss. My search continues.
Very happy with product, much improved from earlier generation speakers. Added KRK sub bass to enhance bottom end, because I like to feel the music!!! Brilliant system, worth the extra expense!
When they arrived, I opened them. I instantly knew they were 100% new and genuin. Plugged them in and instantly tried them out, the sound quality is already amazing right out of the box! For professional tweeking, it has so many options on the back EQ. It's by far the best monitors ever for me. I would strongly recommend buying these for any kind of music production.
Overall:Bought these to replace my JBL LSR 308s... I was skeptical the last time I owned KRK monitors they were pretty much just high and lows heavy no mids. After reading reviews on how the 4th gen sounded far superior to previous Gens I gave them a try and I am not dissapointed. The build quality is great... Sounds is great.. more balanced and lots of power. The Built in digital Eq on the rear is nice allows you to tailor the sound a bit more. I leave it flat to keep the sound neutral. Compared to my JBLs these are far superior in power. JBL 8s were only 100 watts these are 200 watts which leave plenty of room on the dials... You def won't have to turn these up too much.
