By the way, I can assure you that these locks are really strong.I prefer to equip myself with this code model, because finally, I would no longer have the haunting of losing that key since there are none . About choosing the code, I advise you not to use your date of birth or your kids bird , instead use the diferente date , it’s more safe . I suggest memorizing a pattern of locking/unlocking the lock where each cylinder is rotated a fixed number of clicks in either an up or down direction. I use such a pattern and don't look at the combo dial when locking/unlocking - in fact I can't even read it without putting reading glasses on. Lock comes with a reset clip. Please keep reset clip for future usage. The lock is easy to carry and use on bicycles has a rubber protection on the lock to prevent scratches. Could also be used to lock other things like a gate for extra protection. Thanks Kryptonite for a great product. Highly recommend.

In this case though it’s a very unique shape that should be easy to locate if I need it. The procedure worked very simply the first time I tried it. I even went through the process of changing the lock combination a second time with no problem. It’s a very easy task and not at all complicated. One thing that I noticed was that the numbered dials rotated easily upward but with difficulty in the other direction. While undertaking the lock setting procedure it became obvious to me that the quality of the whole unit is absolutely top notch. Without question a lot of precision craftsmanship goes into making this lock. The tolerances or fit of each piece of the entire unit is so precise it makes it easy operate the lock. The rotating dial cover not only fits snuggly preventing things getting into the dials, but it also has a closed ident so that you know that it’s completely closed. One of the most important things to me in a lock like this is that it opens easily when I need it to. If it starts raining or if I am just in a rush it has to work without a hassle and this lock does that without fail. Since I first started using it, it’s not failed to lock or unlock even once. So far my primary use of this KRYPTONITE lock has been to temporarily secure my chainsaws or mower. When I’m cutting trees in my vacant lot and need to walk back to my shop, it’s impractical to carry everything with me. I have had complete piece of mind knowing my equipment will still be there when I walk back to the area where I’m working. Because of the type of work and the equipment I’ve been securing with this KRYPTONITE lock, it’s been subjected to lots of adverse conditions. The sawdust generated from tree cutting and the dirt and debris from my mowers invariably ends up on everything including this lock. Regardless of being exposed to these extreme situations, this KRYPTONITE lock has operated flawlessly. I needed a good secure lock to keep my bike safe in the yard. I like the "U" shape design the best. This one features a rubberized padded area to protect the bike from scratches or damage. It has a sleek design and looks great, if that matters to you, I liked that aspect. The lock is quality and feels sturdy. It is thick enough that it can’t be cut easily with bolt cutters. I think this will give us years of good use. Much better than the cheap combination lock and chain I was using previously. I don’t think the U shape is long enough to chain two bikes together, but I only have one bike so that did not concern me. I would certainly recommend this lock.

I also tried to make use of it on my landscape trailer or boat trailer.. no luck, it's a bicycle lock.On the bicycle you remove the front wheel, get it near the rear wheel and slip this huge U through the bike frame and both wheels, then return the lock portion to close the U. On one end of the U the steel is bent with an L end to enter the lock chamber whilst the other end of the U has the claw that catches the lock pawl.
