I have used this tool twice since buying t a few weeks ago .It cuts very well and the longreach of this tool is very useful for the jobs I was doing. So far, I am quite satisfied with the tool and would recommend it. In my opinion there are two negative points : Firstly it is heavy to use particularly when the additional extension pole is used and secondly, aligning the electrical contacts on the extension pole is not that easy.

This cutter cuts anything that will fit in the jaws (about 1.5" wide). Useful for trimming rather than cutting. It's light enough to use at full stretch or overhead and the battery life is good. If the jaws were angled it would be easier to cut at low level without having to crouch down (the blades are in line with the shaft) or reach right up at high level. The battery life indicator is very useful so you don't run out of charge halfway through

However the battery and charger are an extra cost and are needed for it to work, so it might be worthwhile spending a little more and buying a short Karcher (battery set) hedge trimmer as well which includes these and currently the chance to get an extra battery. It is longer than a normal hedge trimmer but cuts well and is fairly easy to use without the extension pole. Although the extension pole makes it even longer and a little unwieldy this a great help for those places you might not be able to reach without a platform or ladder.

Very well made and sturdy. Cuts well, including smaller branches. However, heavy and unwieldy with pole extensions added. I am not able to use it at full extension.
I bought this machine a short time ago. It did not come with a battery or charger so when I added these needed item the overall package worked out quite expensiveThe machine works well, is very sharp and has good speed for a battery operated machine.The reach is excellent with the extension pole attached but it is rather heavy to operate at full stretch. The machine part is at the upper end of the three parts. I think there would be better balance if the machine mechanism would be at the same end as the battery with connections to the blades section. This is the only issue i have with what is otherwise a really good machine
Bought one of these last year, only used once, found it very heavy and awkward too use when fully extended. Ok on short pole. Also have the lawn mower and strimmer which are very good.
It has a long reach and is well made (good) but with the extension on it is heavy and hard to handle (not so good). The cutter is good for the smaller stuff on hedges but won’t cut any thicker (1cm +) branches that may be hidden within. This is good for what I wanted and the positives of not having a lead to worry about and long battery life outweigh the negatives.
This is an excellent piece of kit that does the job it needs to do quickly, daily and cleanly. I was really impressed by the power of the cutting tool and the ease of using it. The only negative is that the battery takes quite a long time to charge but it’s not the type of tool that you use for hours at a time so not really a problem. A really good addition to my gardening tools.
This is a very useful lopper, it makes dauting piles of greenery to be chopped a lot easier to remove. It works well on most branches, as well as tough wood that could be difficult to do manually. It is also very easy to operate.
I am a professional gardener. I have used the PHG 18-45 a number of times now in clients' gardens along with the 5.0 Ah battery. It is easily up to the task of dealing with the toughest jobs. Last week I tackled 150 feet of tall leylandii and almost got to the end of the job on one charge. Was able to re-charge sufficiently in half an hour to finish. The item is well made, robust, very sharp and not too heavy. I recommend it
