This bar shampoo performs brilliantly! It fits into a stylists recommended every other day use & doesn't require a conditioner. My curls are defined, soft to the touch & not residued into a darker color as I've had other bars do. It's just I'm not too fond of the scent, it's mostly borage with some cherry & that powdery milk scent I can do without and a touch of a rich almond or vanilla. The scent is also strong enough to really scent your hair again 50/50. All & all it didn't stop me from reordering, it's the easy use product I've been searching for. I'm also going to try the Intensive Repair to see if it has a different scent or performance. Long ago there was a mint & rosemary bar shampoo I didn't appreciate until it stopped being made. If that lost gem was a 10 this bar is a 9. It's almost as good & still the best I've found since. Liquid shampoos either give me scalp residue irritation or excess shedding, though I haven't tried L'Octaine liquids. So I highly recommend going plastic free, this is a really excellent shampoo! I'll be back for more of, obviously I'd be keen on more fragrance choices. Like some throw backs to 1999, Vanilla Bourbon, Canelle Orange & Cinnamon or Tomato Vine. I miss those dearly.

It is all I expected from a solid shampoo from L'Occitane! Great texture, fragrance and results. It leaves the hair feeling very cleaned. It must be used as any other shampoo bar (rubbed over the hair and scalp). It did not take much to get a great lather. The travel run is also wonderful:-)I hope to see more fragrances in the near future. (Almond, lavender, citrus and floral ones)It would be awesome!

I love the liquid shampoo from Gentle & Balance. I LOVE the bar soap even more. More importantly my hair loves it. I live in a place with hard water and have curly hair, this shampoo makes my hair happy. I also love that this bar works nearly identically to the liquid version.I also love that it is nearly trash free. Cardboard box making the only part that is not used easily recyclable.Please, please, please continue to make this and I would love if you could develop a bar conditioner.Thank you,

I love this shampoo bar...so easy to use and my hair loves it. I find the fragrance fresh and light...I read the other review and to me, it doesn't smell at all light baby powder. I traveled across Canada this summer and found the bar to be very convenient with thick, rich lather no matter what kind of water we encountered. I'll never go back to liquid shampoo.
This bar is a lot smaller than I pictured, but it seems to be lasting pretty well. It lathers nicely and my fine, straight hair feels clean, not stripped. The thing I hate about this shampoo bar is the fragrance. It's so strong that the entire bathroom and the hallway outside the bathroom constantly smell like this bar. I'd return it if I hadn't used it, since the fragrance is so overwhelming. Fortunately, it doesn't seem to linger in my hair, so it doesn't compete with my perfume or make me sneeze all day. Overall, it's fine if you can stand the fragrance. On the plus side, you won't need any kind of air freshener in the bathroom as long as this bar is sitting around.
I have been waiting for L'Occitane to create a bar shampoo, and this one does not disappoint! As a person with longer, thick hair, personally I have found it best to lather the bar in my hands first and then shampoo as usual as needed as opposed to rubbing the bar directly in my hair, but either way works! Just makes my hair less tangly to lather in my hands first. This shampoo has a nice light scent and leaves my hair soft and clean. Love that it's less waste for the environment and will be great for traveling (buy one of the tins from L'Occitane to store the bar in!) Great new product!
This is a great product idea and I commend l'occitane for trying to move into plastic free area. However the only issue is that there is a difference between this product as a soap and it's fluid sister. I notice that my hair is clean but that it doesn't have the lightness that comes with the fluid shampoo. I imagine to make a soap it means the product is slightly heavier- that being said it doesn't feel that way in this soap. I can see they've added lots of oils which means hair condition is smooth.It I would say has lasted two months so far. I think from an environmentally friendly perspective it wins hands down!
Easy to use. Smells lovely. I have tried lots of shapoosgor my fine, thinning hair which gets greasy very quickly but after using this. I noticed my hair was less greasy, more natural.I ended up getting the other 2 shampoo bars and again noticed they all worked better than liquid shampoos.So much so that I bought some for my daughter in law who has very long hair. Worked just as well for her too.
The smell is kind of like baby powder but not in a good way. I will say I love the solid shampoo bar and it gives a good lather. I prefer the ones from lush which have more selection and lighter, fresher, yummier smells.
This bar shampoo is very easy to use. It isn't too big or too small, but it is just the right size for my hands. The bar lathers well and feels good on my hair, and it doesn't make my hair feel dry. I am also excited to stow this one in my suitcase when I travel! (no more leaky shampoo bottles👍🏾)
