L'Oreal Infallible Freshwear Foundation 225 Beige Sand New

I originally purchased this foundation because I heard it was a dupe for the Lancome Teint Idole, which I love but unfortunately don't have a shade match in. This formula definitely is very similar, potentially even better depending on what you like in a foundation. It is more matte, but not drying and the finish is absolutely one of the most flawless I have ever seen. I unfortunately don't have a good match in this one either since there is a huge jump between 111 and 111.5 and 112, but I sometimes mix them since I love the finish so much. It lasts all day and doesn't look greasy towards the end of the day, even on my combination skin. I also love the packaging both aesthetically and functionally since it is so easy to use. If you are looking for an affordable medium to full coverage foundation, look no further! The only reason I did not give this foundation 5 stars is because of the fragrance. I personally don’t like fragrance in my facial skincare or makeup. I have tried a lot of foundations from the drugstore, Ulta and Sephora. This one is my favorite despite the scent. I won’t ever read reviews until I’ve tried it myself. I have my ride or die’s other favorites for sure but I get bored easily. That being said this one is absolutely terrible, especially on dryer skin. I rarely have issues with a matte foundation even with my dry skin. My skincare is on point and I prep well before applying any cosmetics. That aside I have great skin with minimal flaws. In the end it didn’t matter what I used with this stuff. Application is patchy no matter the method. I tried multiple brushes with different hair type and sponges with no luck. Sorry. This girl doesn’t use her fingers. It settles into fine lines and pores. Shows texture like no one’s business and I don’t have texture… It’s so drying it appeared to crack around the nose and mouth. Not to mention the smell…straight up smells like paint thinner. I ended up tossing this one in the trash. I couldn’t bring myself to even give it away. It just felt mean somehow.

Disappointed

I was so excited to try this foundation. Well, as soon as I put it on, it was so drying and showed all my pores and imperfections. It settled into my face where the "crater wrinkles" are and looked so yellow in those craters. I didn't like it the moment I put it on. The coverage was ok, but my face felt so dry and uncomfortable. I thought #99 True Porcelain would be so light but it isn't. It was a lot darker and yellow than I was expecting. I don't know if it was so drying because it was Pro Matte, but I need a smoother look and feel. My Elf Flawless Satin foundation is so much better than this. Truly disappointed in this Loreal foundation. Definitely not for me!

Holy Grail status for me

I started using this when it first released as my previous holy grail (total cover) drug store foundation for high coverage seemed to have changed its formula (or my skin just decided it didn't like it anymore) and it was apparently discontinued. I only use this when I want a decent amount of coverage but to still maintain a fairly natural "skin like" look.The finish is beautiful. People frequently ask me what foundation I use when I am wearing this.You can get higher, near full coverage with a brush but I prefer a damp beauty blender which gives me medium coverage. I Keep Coming Back

I just entered my 40's and my very oily skin is starting to get drier. I would like a little more glow and have been testing foundations with less of a matte finish, but I keep going back to this one. What can I say, it STAYS PUT. Like Estée Lauder Double Wear for less than half the price. It never breaks down, and there's no need for me to worry about how it's faring on my nose and chin, where other foundations like to do a complete disappearing act. I don't find that it looks cakey or clings to dry patches. Coverage is great, application is even. When you're down to the last drop, just cut the bottom open and the product is easily accessible. My only complaint is that it does leave me feeling a bit more dull these days. Bottom line-this foundation is solid and reliable, but truly, truly matte (as in no need to powder matte), so if you have dry skin, it's probably not for you.

Not for sensitive skin

Coverage is pretty good, a little too flat for my liking. Lasts a long time for the price. If your skin can handle a thicker, dry base you’d probably like this product. Would not recommend if your skin is on the drier/dehydrated side. Sadly it makes me break out like CRAZY. It gives me tons of little tiny pimples no matter the application, no matter how clean my face, hands, or tools are. I did several product reductions to figure out what was wrecking my skin and it was this foundation. Probably best for skin with hyperpigmentation and on the oily end of the spectrum. I’d really suggest a patch test on your cheek before trying full face.

Oxidises super quick!! Not for pale skin.

I have really pale skin with a cool undertone so find it really hard to find a good mid priced foundation. I bought the shade porcelain, which I think is the lightest one. At first glance it looked a good match in the bottle but it oxidized within seconds to quite a few shades darker than my skin tone and in my opinion looked orange, in fact I've never seen a product do this so quickly.First time I used it I forgot primer and even though it's a lighter formula it looked very drying on the skin, that was within a few minutes while I was applying it, however on top of a primer it worked a lot better and went on nicely.The formula is fine, the coverage is good and buildable, in terms of wear, definitely not 32 hours for my skin type! When did the formula change!

Omg so I thought I was the only one who thought this was a bit different but based on the other reviews I realized I wasn’t crazy!! So back in 2018-2020 this was my absolute holy grail for daily foundation, especially at work. It gave me full coverage, it was long lasting AND it was so lightweight. I loved it that I’ve made several purchases before. I’ve decided to repurchase this recently and noticed instantly that this was more cakey and made my skin look dry and pasty!! I thought maybe my skin got dry but even after properly prepping my skin this foundation just did NOT look good. Coming on here and reading the reviews— it finally made sense that the formula changed and definitely not for the better! Wish companies stopped changing what worked!
