L'Oreal Paris Elvive Glycolic Gloss Shampoo 200ml

[This review was collected as part of a promotion. ] I have enjoyed trialling the shampoo, conditioner, lamination treatment and leave in treatment in this range as part of the reviewcrew. The shampoo is quite a thick creamy consistency, pearlescent pink in colour (very similar to the colour displayed on the bottle) and it lathers up beautifully to a very rich, soft, bubbly lather. I loved how well it lathered with only a minimal amount of product and how fresh and clean my hair felt after using. The scent of this range I am honestly not a big fan of, I found it to have a chemically soapy sort of scent to it which I did find a little off putting to be honest. Other than this I found that the shampoo cleansed my hair well, I found it very easy to rinse out after using and was pleased to discover that it did not leave my hair or scalp feeling stripped or dry. My hair actually did feel soft after using, which is surprising for a shampoo. For referrence my hair is very long, thick, wavy and on the dry/damaged side especially the lengths and ends. I was initially quite worried when first trialling this as I am prone to scalp issues, I get flare ups of eczema on my scalp which can get quite bad with harsh products (shampoos usually). I was worried about using glycolic acid products on my scalp and how my scalp would react to this, but thankfully it actually did not cause any negative reaction, it was surprisingly much gentler than I anticipated. I was expecting a dry stinging scalp after using but thankfully this did not appear to irritate my scalp at all, or trigger any flare ups, it was surprisingly gentle. Don't be put off by the inclusion of glycolic acid, it is actually surprsingly gentle on the hair and scalp. A little amount of product goes a long way as the shampoo foams up so well. This bottle will last a long time as it only needs a tiny amount to get a decent lather. Apart from its chemical scent being a bit off putting to me personally I can't really fault anything else about this shampoo. It does the job quite well, the shampoo cleanses the hair without being harsh on the scalp or leaving that dreaded squeaky clean feel behind afterwards. The hair is left feeling clean and refreshed after rinsing, and prepped for the conditioner. Does it deliver in terms of smoothness and claims of boosting shine? Yes and no. I can't say for me personally there has been a big noticeable difference from using this shampoo but I also have not noticed any negatives from it either. It does leave my hair feeling soft after using, but for me I don't think my hair has seen a dramatic change in terms of smoothness. It does leave my hair looking shiny after use. Would I purchase this shampoo? Honestly just out of personal preferrence I think my hair is better suited to their bond repair range; although I did like this range I have seen more noticeable benefit from other products in the elvive range. Would I recommend this product? Yes. It is a good product and while I do not think it is beneficial to me personally I do think it is better suited to others, if you don't mind the scent of this range and your hair is generally healthy and just looking a bit on the dull side than I do recommend giving this shampoo a try. I have enjoyed using this range of products but I would probably only purchase them if they were on a good sale, just as they are not quite suited to my hair concerns, other products are more noticeably beneficial to my hair type. I would consider alternating this with the bond repair range every now and again.

It is suitable for all hair types, I have bleached hair it helps to hydrate my dull hair, give the gloss my hair needs. I have classic length, wavy and frizzy but straight undyed hair and rarely use heat. I have absolutely LOVED using these products and will be repurchasing! My hair was straight for a long time, and in the last few months has turned more wavy and frizzy, I assume due to hormonal changes. As a stand alone product, it provides an amazing level of hydration as well as a gorgeous glossy shine like nothing I have ever experienced before (well, maybe when I was 12 before I started abusing my hair lol).The 5 Minute Lamination Rinse-off Treatment is slightly thicker in texture than the conditioner yet still spreads easily through the lengths and ends of my pre washed and conditioned damp hair. I left it in my hair for the recommended five minutes, and like the previous two products in the glossing system, found it rinsed away quickly and cleanly with zero residue to weigh down my fine hair. I thought my hair felt soft, hydrated and super smooth after using the conditioner, but this 5 Minute Lamination Rinse-off Treatment took it to a whole new level of wow! Another thing that impressed me is that it is colour safe which is a must have factor when choosing my haircare products.The Glycolic Gloss Leave In Serum is not only pink but also packed with microsparkles that further help to reflect the light and enhance shine. I find two pumps is sufficient product for the lengths and ends my hair (just below shoulder length) which I typically apply to damp hair, although you can apply it to dry hair is you so desire (I sometimes apply an additional pump finish my hairstyle). The serum doesn't feel sticky or add weight and once my hair is blow dried, I'm always amazed at just how healthy and shiny it looks as well as being full of movement - it definitely has the swoosh factor! It also controls frizz/flyaways and the glossy shine enhances my colour magnificently. It is worth noting that the serum does not contain a heat protector so I totally recommend using Elvive Dream Lengths Heat Slayer Spray.Overall, this Elvive Glycolic Gloss range is absolutely superb and has definitely brought the life back to my once 'meh' hair! Smooth, shiny, hair! Finally!

I had extremely dry, porous, frizzy and dull hair. It took so many styling products and straightening (naturally wavy, about a 2a-2b, they're looser waves) to make my hair look somewhat decent, and it still wouldn't look shiny unless I used a million hair oils onto of that routine. I added this shampoo into my routine (I was my hair every 3 days), and it looked so amazing without styling and using just a conditioner and leave in conditioner (after blowdrying)! Holy!! I tried again with just this shampoo and my regular conditioner (also loreal but a different conditioner that doesnt match this shampoo) and had Similar results while air drying.
