L'Oreal Professionnel Excellence Cool Creme 8.11 Light Ash Blonde 192ml

I bought this hair dye as I generally just coloured my roots with another Loreal hair dye but the length of my hair had gone lighter and brassy so decided on this colour, I wanted to go lighter overall but as many others have said, my hair has turned out nearly black, I'm devastated, really doesn't suit me. Condition and shine is amazing but Loreal you really need to address this issue, it should not be labelled as light brown. Will take me a while to get it to fade now and then I will probably have to strip my hair before trying another colour. Very disappointed as I have always used your hair dyes. I would recommend your hair dye but definitely not these universal shades.

Beautiful, perfect colour.

I got to try out the L’Oréal Paris Excellence Cool Créme Permanent Hair Colour Ultra Ash Dark Brown on my mum. I coloured it for her, and it was so easy to use. It does come with a comb applicator but I just used the nozzle it came with, I think that would be great for someone dying their own hair.It covered her greys really well. It provided an even overall colour. The colour I thought was very true to its description on the box. The product took out any brass that was in the hair and resulted in an very cool dark brown with no hint of red. It actually looks like it’s taken it back to her natural hair colour. Love it but the colour is inaccurately represented

I agree with other reviews that the colour is very much darker than I was expecting for a light brown but after the initial shock, I actually like it. I have never had so many compliments on my hair colour and condition and so have continued to use this colour over the past 6 months. The conditioner provided helps to keep my hair soft and tangle free and in good condition between dyes.All in all I am extremely pleased with this product, but feel there should be a more accurate representation of the colour on the box to prevent nasty surprises!

Pleasant smell - good solid colour.

As I approach middle age, hair colours with more natural shades seem to be the kind of colour I should opt for. My hair is naturally darkest brown so I was interested to see if this new colour would be able to lift it by a shade (as suggested by the box) and whether it would look a lot shiner and glossier than normal. It did lift my colour slightly but not so that anyone but me would have noticed. The formula was pretty standard in terms of mixing it together. Like other Excellence Creme products it has a pleasant smell and no ammonia. The consistency is creamy and not too runny. It left my hair shiny and glossy, I'm not sure I saw any iridescent gloss on my hair but the shade was definitely flattering. Sadly this colour is as NOT natural brown

I wanted to do my roots, I chose natural brown as my hair has been going light in the sun, and was happy to go a little shade darker at the roots . But it was almost very dark brown with a hint of purple. My family made comments all weekend. Had to wash it twice to remove dye from my skin & still look like I’ve been rubbing blackberries around my scalp, very visible on my forehead in daylight. Not good. Worse thing I bought two, as I thought it would be ‘natural’ far from natural sadly. Very disappointed.

Superb

I am so delighted with this colour. I have naturally neutral /cool very dark brown hair which is greying. I had a terrible highlighting experience at the hairdresser to blend in the grey while it grew through, which turned it orange. I had to correct it before going back to work.I bought the ultra ash dark blonde, as brown dyes often go black. It's perfect! My hair is a beautiful, rich neutral/ash medium to dark brown with no root glow. Excellent grey coverage, glossy condition and pleasant application due to minimal smell and no skin staining. Absolutely brilliant!!

Terrible

Bought this and used on my hair. I have mid brown hair colour which has previously been dyed with L’Oréal’s semi permanent crème gloss which gave it a lovely browny colour with a slight auburn shimmer.This new Hair colour clearly says it’s for all shades of brown. I left it on for the reduced amount as stated in the box if you don’t want it too dark.Well, firstly it hasn’t completely covered my grey hairs and secondly I look so washed out! The colour is soooo dark.I’mSo upset at how awfully drained the dark colour has made me look. I definitely wouldn’t use it again or recommend it to anyone.

Top marks for grey coverage but not easy to use

I would preface this review with the fact that I am not a home hair dye sort of person, so someone more skilled in this area may find the following to be rubbish. However, as a novice I found this hair dye quite difficult to use. It doesn't help I'm blind as a bat without my glasses - which I obviously have to take off to dye my hair making instructions even harder to read. I struggled to get the dye to apply evenly to my hair in the way shown in the pictures and then hadn't realised I should have kept the gloves on for the whole half hour until wash out time... and don't even get me started on trying to get the gloves on in the first place - they are definitely not designed for fat hands!!! Waste of time and money, so brassy

I bought 7.11 “Ultra ash blonde” to get my roots closer to my natural colour, which is a very cool tone. I was so excited to use this as all dyes, even professional tend to make my roots brassy. I have to say, this is probably the worst dye I’ve ever used, especially considering it’s “ultra ash”. My roots were in between the first and middle ‘before’ photos on the back of the box, and now they’re orange. Very disappointed, especially since this is one of the most expensive box dyes, complete waste of money

ashy, non drying & grey to cover greys
