There’s something seriously wrong with this new series of Effaclar products. I’ve been using the Effaclar range for years, incl Effaclar Duo Plus. My skin is prone to oiliness and the occasional pimple, and using Duo Plus a couple of times a week has always helped me to prevent and minimise any breakouts. This Moisturiser comes in a tube packaging and it is very lightweight and non greasy on the skin. It is a gel cream which I like as it is perfect lightweight Moisturiser for summer. I was worried this Moisturiser would not be moisturising enough while providing anti blemish technology but my fears were luckily proven wrong. It is very hard at times to find a product that actually unclogs your pores without making it produce more oils counteracting the benefits however this product works a charm to keep my blemishes under control. I was curious to try the new Effaclar duo M+ due to its post acne marks reduction claims as I suffer from alot of stubborn hyperpigmentation. I have previously tried the original Effaclar duo some 10 years back but found that was too harsh and drying on my skin causing alot of redness and breakouts. I understand that this version has key ingredients of Salicylic acid, niacinamide, zinc and a phylobioma ingredient that is supposed to be good for reducing blemishes. I understand that this version has key ingredients of Salicylic acid, niacinamide, zinc and a phylobioma ingredient that is supposed to be good for reducing blemishes. I'm still not clear what the M+ is meant to stand for. I have been using the cream for about 15 days. The cream is a light white lotion consistency that can be applied to the face with the nozzle applicator on the tube. The cream rubs in well. The scent is quite chemical like. I tried this initially as part of my night routine but then switched to the day use after 2 days.Results: I found this formula to be complimentary to my daytime routine that includes vitamin c and spf. It didn't break me out or feel drying like the original formula did. When I did try with my night routine that included retinol (not in high concentration) i have tiny white blemishes appear in my t zone. and some slight redness. so far my hyperpigmentation is slowly reducing but I cant sat that it has accelerated as a result of adding effaclar M+ to my routine. I can see that its not doing any harm again as part of my day routine so I will continue use. My previous experience with the Effaclar duo Original did really put me off using La roche posay for a while so Effaclar M+ is slowing turning my feeling towards La roche posay products in a positive way.
