La Roche Posay Effaclar Micro Peeling Purifying Gel - 200ml

I love it! I’m not gonna lie, I’ve been using the other Effsclar gel cleanser with a light blue color, and you can see a difference between the smell and texture. It smells funny, but not bad. Your skin feels a little bit tighter using this one instead of the light blue one. But it’s great for oily skin prone to acne, it has 2% of salycilic acid and LHA, so... it has seborregulating activity and that’s why it tends to “dry” your skin, because you’re gonna produce less sebum. Is a chemical peeling (chemical exfoliating) so even though you have an oily skin prone to acne, I would recommend to use it 2-3 times a week at night. And if you have a normal-dry skin... maybe look out for other options or use it once a month. I have a different presentation (bigger one haha) ... MoreI love it! Amazing stuff!

I bought this a week ago after reading hundreds of great reviews about it. I suffer with breakouts on my chest and face. Mainly hormonal. I used to use sun beds to try and help with this. But sun beds are starting to effect my skin badly with wrinkles etc and so I’m giving them a miss now. I’m naturally quite pale and I actually love my pale skin but the spots I get with break outs really upset me and make me feel insecure. I used this and within literally just 1 wash I noticed a massive difference! And now after a week of using every day my spots completely gone! It’s madness! It actually really works! I will be buying this product again forever! A little bit goes a long way too. So although the price tag may seem high. It lasts! Effective!

I am in my mid-forties and I have oily, slightly olive skin, which used to be prone to breakouts, but is now smooth and completely free of wrinkles. I have used up two tubes of this product, which I've purchased both in-store and online. It is an effective formula for sensitive skin. I love the design of the tube, which dispenses the product in modest amounts and in its entirety; when I got towards the end of the tube, I didn't have to cut it open to get any residual product out, it emptied perfectly, and you can see this, as the tube is transparent. Both of these factors, (physical ease of use and transparency of packaging), are holy grails for me as a consumer! Very good product design in terms of packaging. As I had considerable pigmentation prior to using it, I noticed more than 50% reduction, I'd say close to 80% reduction in pigmentation, which continues to improve over time. So it exceeds the manufacturer's estimates its effectiveness, in my experience. Another big tick there. I like the fact that in addition to salicylic acid, it also contains zinc PCA, which helps heal and stabilise the skin. It lasts about four months or so with twice daily use. Going back for another tube soon. I highly recommend this product to maintain skin clarity and even out skin tone.

Game changer

I was looking for a chemical exfoliant for ages and nothing was really effective (leaving skin dry or oily). This one exfoliates perfectly and leaves the skin balanced and feeling smooth without dryness or oiliness. It is gentle and effective. It absolutely changed the game and works real well with the LRP effaclar duo spf30. Best of all, it is affordable and way better than the more expensive brands. I have already recommended it to friends who have found that it helped them with acne, dry skin, and uneven skin. 10/10

Great purchase, worth the money

I bought this after purchasing the astringent lotion on clearance in my store and finding it worked great. The range was on 3 for 2 and I was torn between this gel or the purifying gel, however I have quite large pores and thought this would be better to help unclog. I now have the clearest skin I have had in my entire life and get constant compliments, which is a huge shift from being incredibly oily and constantly having new spots/acne. I can’t recommend this product more

Perfect for sensitive blemish prone skin

I’ve been using this face wash for over a year. Right from the start it helped my cystic spots, which has also helped my pigmented skin as I get far fewer blemishes and therefore dark spots from skin damage. I’ve also recommended it to family with similar skin issues and they’ve also taken to it. One stopped their prescription dermatologist’s treatments and this was cheaper and helped enough that stronger prescription strength meds weren’t needed.

So far so good but early days

Bought this a couple of weeks ago so only used 3 times so far (will explain why shortly...) don’t need a full pump for face, half is ample. Basically so your skin gets used to it slowly. I can tell I’ve used it the next day - skin definitely feels different in a good way. Have to see how it goes over time but this bottle will last a long time so it’s good value in my opinion given the quality of the ingredients

Tackles sebaceous filaments!

I have had sebaceous filaments (not blackheads, but similar) all over my nose as long as I can remember and no product, except for clay masks, have helped.I have used lots of different types of face wash over the years with no real improvement so I was pleasantly surprised that this face wash has actually removed them! Miracle!Only thing I would mention is it is a little drying around the eyes so would use a seperate eye makeup remover.

Textured/problem skin must have!

I can never be bothered with reviews BUT OMG MAJOR PSA- Get it! I want to help others like this cleanser has helped me so far already! I’m a huge skin care fanatic yet have always struggled with textured skin/closed comedones, black heads, pimples here and there etc. I feel like I’ve tried it all, even gone down the fungal acne route. I just come across this cleanser randomly on a TikTok and thought why not? Even though I love my cetaphil (which I still use). Maybe for some reason I was drawn to it because whilst this brand seems decent, I still viewed it as an expensive hype and I find their products confusing. Take my money though!! This product is actually so cheap for what it is. I swear it has in only just a week made such a difference. It’s very refreshing and tingly. Not abrasive, just smooth and sudsy. A little goes a long way. I can’t believe I’m potentially going to have smooth skin! It’s also very even toned and just so clean and clear. It’s added to my holy grail list. I find using it with Paulas Choice aha and toner has been a great combination

i have oily acne prone skin. i am especially prone to blackheads. when i turned around 19 my skin became pretty clear, but with the mask-wearing rules, i was having horrendous breakouts all around my jaw and cheek areas when i was working on the covid ward and obviously the masks didn’t help. i used this face wash a few times a week and massaged it into the affected areas for at least 60 seconds each time. over a few weeks i could see a huge difference. i would recommend it to anyone who has oily acne-prone skin. it’s been my lifesaver and helped me regain confidence with my skin, i don’t feel like i have to cover it in concealer constantly. i pair it with the effaclar duo tinted cream as well which i can just wear as a light coverage foundation if i want to.
