La Roche Posay Pure Niacinamide 10 Serum 30 ml

I received this item in an Influenster VoxBox to test. My skin is somewhat sensitive, and when I put it on my face, I could soon enough tell it was irritating it. And no wonder- 10% Niacinamide is a high concentration! The positive benefits hit their peak at like 5%, and 10% has increased likelihood to irritate skin. I've been using it on my arms instead, since skin on my body is less sensitive. It works certainly well enough, and I'll use it up, but it in no way is worth the $40 that it is being sold for. On top of the, in my opinion, unnecessarily high concentration of Niacinamide, it has a fragrance. I do generally avoid it in my skincare, because my skin is sensitive, but it's not even a particularly nice smell and it is offputtingly strong. Lastly, the dropper component is messy and difficult to use. I'm less than halfway through my bottle and it's starting to struggle with sucking up product! And the product sort of gloops out around the stopper, which dries down since you can't wipe it up after twisting it closed- pretty gross! I don't understand why this couldn't have been in a pump, the dropper packaging does a total disservice! I feel disappointed that I was chosen for a VoxBox, got my hopes up, and received such a subpar product. Especially since La Roche-Posay has such solid products usually! Again, I'll use it up on my body since I don't get so much irritation, but I'm really not thrilled about this product.

I was super surprised by this product! I took before (Left) and after (Right) pictures on Day 1 and Day 10. I’ve continued using this product and now, on Day 15, my skin is looking even better! It’s given my skin back its YOUTHFULNESS. I used this product in the morning and evening, after cleansing my skin, and then finished with my regular moisturizer. While testing it, I used NO other products, so the results I achieved are 100% from the La Roche-Posay Niacinimide serum. PROS: I expected to see less redness in my skin, but what I actually experienced was an overall evening of texture and a renewed dewiness. My skin really looks younger. My husband even commented on how smooth and even my forehead looked! This is from a man that doesn’t notice a haircut! CONS: On ... MoreI was super surprised by this product! Even though I rated it 5 stars doesn’t mean that it’s perfect and could definitely use some improvements. The dropper absolutely sucks. I’m not sure if I got a defective one or not, but it’s fussy and doesn’t always work the way it should. This also does have a scent. It’s a light scent, but if you’re scent adverse, I would recommend staying away from this one. It also does feel a little sticky after applying. And after a month and some change of regular morning/night use, I didn’t notice any dimming of my dark spot. I have one so it’s very easy for me to see whether or not my products are having any effect on it. Again, all of this still wasn’t enough to take a star off only because of how well this has handled my redness and acne. I’ve been using this for two weeks now and I’m still torn on how I feel about it. When I first got it I immediately noticed the heavy fragrance, which I typically hate in skincare, especially when it’s an unnatural, synthetic, floral smelling fragrance. I was excited because of the 10% tolerance tested Niacinamide though, which is an ingredient I love! Then when I looked at the ingredients list I noticed denatured alcohol was the 4th ingredient. I have dry skin so this is an ingredient I always try to avoid. But I figured I’d at least use the bottle up. And if I’m being completely honest I did notice a difference in my pores after using for just a week. It definitely made my large pores look smaller and less noticeable. I will say the product would be easier to use if it came in a pump bottle though, the pipette/dropper bottle is annoying because this is a lotion-like serum and whenever you put the dropper back in the product spills over and out of the bottle. Also, you definitely have to be careful how you use this if you want to use it in the morning because it can pill if you don’t let it dry down completely before applying your next product. I was able to avoid this pretty easily though after the first time. Just make sure you let it dry down COMPLETELY before you put an moisturizer or makeup over top and you should be fine. I’m definitely going to use the rest of the bottle but I’m still torn on whether I would repurchase. If it continues to improve my dark spots then I might but if all things stay the same I will probably look for another product without fragrance or alcohol that does the same things.

This is a really nice, smooth, non-irritating niacinamide serum. I find it really hydrating especially with the hyaluronic acid. In addition to having 10% concentration of niacinamide to combat dark spots discoloration, there is also Phe Resorcinol which is a radiance boosting compound addressing dullness. I noticed a difference in my skin almost immediately even though I am an avid skincare user/tester. It is a white creamy serum which blends in absorbs completely. The light scent did not bother me, and it did not sting my skin at all whatsoever. I was able to tolerate it immediately and did not find it irritating in the least to incorporate into my routine. ALSO- please don’t worry about mixing your Niacinamide with your Vitamin C! The reports to the contrary are outdated and based on outdated research mixing versions not in use today that you won’t be putting on your face or bringing to near boiling temperature causing the reactions they found. These 2 antioxidants actually work well together increase benefits to the skin. Of course if you have questions or doubts, talk to your dermatologist. Personal opinion I think this luxury serum could not have come at a better time, I like its whitish texture, I've been using it for a few weeks, I like that it's not greasy, it leaves my skin soft with hydration for many hours. That said I still wanted to give this a fair shot and not let my excitement muddle my review. This serum has a fantastic feel, sometimes "drugstore" type niacinamide serums have a sticky, tacky feel that doesn't settle into the skin as well as you hope, this serum is not like that at all, the formulation is wonderful. It has a gorgeously smooth texture and soaks into the skin beautifully, almost leaving a (somewhat short lived) slight glass like glow. It absolutely fades dark spots better than the lower percentage niacinamide serums. It moisturizes so well that there was a few times I forgot my moisturizer afterwards. Forget lip plumpers, seriously they last maybe 5 mins and make you look like you have a horrible rash on your mouth, this stuff plumps your lips so well and with repeated daily use the results remain. The niacinamide coupled with the hyaluronic acid makes such a gorgeous natural plump lip line. Not to mention it softens the color on your lip line too, which some might not like but as someone who prefers light pink glosses and lipsticks I absolutely love! I honestly use this serum all over, the backs of my hands, my neck and chest. This coupled with a good retinol gives you the youthful glow I know I search high and low for. The best part about Niacinamide is it functions not only as a dark spot remover, a fine line reducer lip plumper (in my case lol), it also is great at restoring your skin barrier. If you are like me and you love to try new skin products, than your skin barrier is probably also screaming at you for a break from time to time, niacinamide is a great way to restore that damaged skin barrier (when used with other barrier soothing products). I could go on and on about just how much I enjoyed this serum but it is time to cut it off here as I think I have hit the main points. I received this product free for review and not only am glad I did, I will absolutely be adding it to my skincare routine (in fact I already did) and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a serum that does any of the things I mentioned above.

I feel that the La Roche-Posay skin care range is overall at the top level in sensitive skin care and this new Niacinamide 10 serum is no exception. It suited my skin very well while I tried it over the past few weeks. After the serum absorbed into the skin I also tried applying my La-Roch Posay sunscreen face cream in the morning over this product and it was fantastic! The serum did not feel like it was stripping off. Overall, I loved the fresh and hydrating feeling it gave to my skin. Suits All Skin Types!

This serum has such a gorgeous texture - it's milky white and glides on like a dream and soaks into the skin quickly. I then like to use a spritzing toner over the top just to push it into the skin that little bit more to make the most of it. It's not at all greasy or oily but feels more water based and it has the scent of mixed berries. It feels hydrating as I apply it to my skin and it feels like it works all day as a hydrating serum. I do find that it evens out my skin tones and also helps to diminish the look of my darker spots a little bit but does not get rid of them - this product doesn't promise to get rid of them but just even out the skin tone and that is exactly what it does. I need a bit more oomph in certain areas (like a bad dark spot I have which I need to use a tougher dark spot product on but I can target that separately now that I've tried and used this serum). I like that it also has Niacinamide in it which is also beneficial and I love that as a big ingredient in this product. I love the colour of the glass bottle - a pretty purple and the dropper is plastic and makes it easy to not use too much - it seems to give a measured dose and I find that the small amount that gets emitted from the dropper to plentifully do my whole face. Then I like to do another dose drop for my neck areas. A wonderful thing about this serum is that it can be used for all skin types and is non-comedogenic which means it's also great for acne prone skin that might need a bit of hydration and evening out of skin tone. The classy and sophisticated label has a peel-away section on the back which tells the user a little bit more about the serum and I liked that because I like reading about the products I'm using on my skin. Using this both morning and night is ideal and I love that it can be easily used during the day without adding any grease to the skin as I do have oily prone skin albeit being a more normal combination skin these days with some areas being more dry and some areas being more oily and other areas being plain normal! So I loved the way this serum suited all areas!

The Results Are Visable

La Roche-Posay Pure Niacinamide 10 Serum comes with a dropper, but rather than using it as a dropper I wiped the dropper over my face instead as I didn’t find the dropper worked too well.
