I bought these a few months ago in anticipation for hard sending this Spring and Summer, and I have absolutely loved them. They are my sixth different pair of climbing shoes I've purchased and I have to say they are my new favorites. They edge super well, I feel they are the perfect balance between sensitivity and stiffness, and they have a ton of power. I mostly do sport climbing and bouldering and they work great for those. I don't recommend them much for trad, especially if you size them down a lot, simply because they are too uncomfortable to wear for more than a pitch.Sizing:I've heard Adam Ondra sizes his down like 4 full sizes. I only like my feet to hurt moderately so I only sized down 1.5. I normally wear a 44 street shoe, and I've worn 43.5 in the Muira ... MoreI bought these a few months ago in anticipation for hard sending this Spring and Summer, and I have absolutely loved them. Since I was buying these for sending hard and performance, not necessarily comfort, I decided to size down a bit more than the Muiras. My friend let me try on his 42's, and those felt a little too tight. I got 42.5's, and they have been really good for me, but I will say they stretch a lot so now I'm thinking I probably could have even gone down a little more to a 42.The break in period is rough, but it goes quick. Don't let that stop you from getting these amazing shoes. They're the best I've ever used!

These were great shoes and I'm not criticizing how they stick to the wall. The thing is that they break really easy. I had mine for just over two months before the straps on both shoes broke. The rubber on the shoe's were barely used and if the straps still worked, the shoes could have lasted another 6 months easy. The way they are designed promotes wear to the straps and I have heard many stories from other people who have had the same experience. I had heard that La Sportiva sometimes repairs the shoes when the straps break so I contacted them telling them what happened. When they got back to me they told me that the straps aren't covered in the warranty and reccomended me bringing them to a resole company. These are great shoes there are just many alternatives ... MoreThese were great shoes and I'm not criticizing how they stick to the wall. The thing is that they break really easy. In general I would stay away from La Sportiva shoes that have straps as it seems the company has yet to perfect a strap design that resists wear.

High performance and comfortable for how aggressive they are. Heel fits me well but it is thick and not sensitive at all and that has always been my only complaint. Fits my narrow low volume feet well. Downsized fairly aggressively. 2-3 full euro sizes. I wear mens size 12 or 46 euro (or 45.5 depending on the chart) I've had some in size 42.5 probably borderline too small so I got similar Solution comps in 43 that seem perfect. And recently got a pair in 43.5 since stock was limited but at a good bargain. Hoping they don't get too baggy over time but they might work out better for longer routes only time will tell when it comes to sizing properly. I'll probably be switching to the solution comps which are similar but with a better heel imo but I would not hesitate ... MoreHigh performance and comfortable for how aggressive they are. 1. Perfect shoe for intermediate climbers. The downturn is just moderate. If you’re just starting to climb more and advanced, this will be the perfect shoe for you.2. Perfect for climbers with slimmer foot as well. Went to my local store to try for sizing and comfort level, tried a range of shoes including the skwarma one, none of them was tight enough/ too wide as my feet is slim. So if you have a slimmer foot, this is a suitable shoe for you.TIP: If you can, go down to your local store to try out for sizing and comfort level first, THEN buy it online. (Sizing may vary when you buy online and the size calculator may not always be accurate)TLDR: Shoe is suitable for intermediate climbers, climbers with slim foot. I've had this shoe for a couple months now and I can say that these live up to the hype. They edge very well, and heel hook like no other. They can even hold their own on the slab. However, I have a couple complaints about this shoe. The main issue is, after 2+ hours of use a huge blister forms on my big toe. Taping my toe doesn't seem to help it at all. However, this could just be a me thing, so this might not apply to you. Also, the break-in period was the worst break-in period i've ever had. These HURT for the first few weeks. However, they now feel great.
I bought the Solutions a month or so ago and have put in 6 hard sessions so far. I use them as my outdoor shoes and home wall shoes. I use Futuras for my gym days. I typically use a 44 in Sportivas but decided to go down to 43.5 for these and I'm stoked. They were expectedly tight out of the box but after a couple sessions are feeling perfect! I've climbed for 34 years and I can finally say that I've found the heel that fits perfectly! Seriously, I am in love with how this heel fits, no gaps, no air pockets. The toe is precise and has a good feel on small dimples and edges, it supports but doesn't feel "dead". This is a fantastic shoe that checks almost every box for me. I often use softer shoes so having a more firm shoe that's not a brick is a novelty for me and ... MoreI bought the Solutions a month or so ago and have put in 6 hard sessions so far. These shoes are easily one of the most popular aggressive climbing shoes out there, and for good reason. The toe-box is amazing, and feels super reliable and precise. The rubber is sticky, but thick enough that it is still and supportive when you need it to be. However, the solution has some pretty big flaws. The most obvious one (and most complained about) is the closure system: the strap will rip for most people, especially if you have to crank it down for it to feel secure. I got lucky and only ripped the strap halfway before blowing the shoes out...The second flaw for me is the heel. It's way too stiff, so you can't feel anything you're doing and it constantly seems like you're about to slip off. It doesn't deform at all so sometimes you'll find yourself ... MoreThese shoes are easily one of the most popular aggressive climbing shoes out there, and for good reason. It doesn't deform at all so sometimes you'll find yourself slipping on flatter holds when heel hooking. The last thing I'll say about this shoe is the build quality could be better. The toe rubber on mine started peeling right away. That being said, I fixed it with aquaseal +sr one time and it was good for the rest of the shoe's lifetime.
Excellent shoes for climbing. I have tried numerous pairs of climbing shoes with no luck on the shape and fit. Ive tried black diamond, scarpa, evolve etc. Out of all the climbing shoes that I have tried on these shoes fit me the best. They fit the best for my footshape and they are tight but not painful. I also do not wear these all day, I have a pair of shoes I wear in between climbs so they typically are on only when im climbing so that may be why I havent experienced any pain with these shoes. Im not sure how the durability of these shoes will be but I have been climbing with them for about 6 months and they look pretty good and I am super happy with the performance and reliability of these shoes.
After carefully evaluating these shoes based solely on their performance, I would confidently rate them 3.5 out of 5 stars. The 4mm XS Grip 2 rubber enhances flexibility and movement compared to the XS Edge variant. The rounded heel design offers exceptional stability and confidence during heel hooks, securing my placements effectively. Additionally, the rubber patch on the toe box not only grants excellent toe hook and bat hang capabilities but also provides protection while climbing on rocky surfaces.I appreciate the generous material in the upper sock-like closure system, which ensures a snug and comfortable fit, setting it apart from other models like the La Sportiva Theory and skwama.Cons:The single velcro closure system might not offer the level of security some climbers desire. The midsole shape may not be as comfortable for those with wider feet.It takes time to adapt to the rounded heel construction, especially for climbers accustomed to traditional heel designs. Some users find the pointy toe uncomfortable. The unique rounded heel of the La Sportiva Solution may require an adjustment period; this aspect has received mixed feedback among climbers. After using these shoes for a few months, transitioning back to a traditional heel design can be challenging. I must acknowledge La Sportiva's innovative approach. However, the single velcro closure system could be improved, as it tends to require frequent adjustments to achieve a proper fit. While they may not be my first choice for modern bouldering or competitive climbing, I genuinely admire the brand's pursuit of innovation.Overall, if I were to have just one pair of climbing shoes, the La Sportiva Solution might not be my ultimate pick, but they undeniably offer unique features and performance that many climbers appreciate.FitMy street shoe size is 8.5us (42EU) . We all are on a journey to find the Holy Grail of climbing shoes, meaning a shoe that enables us to climb better and achieve at levels we have hoped for. For me, that journey led me to try the Solution. After a brief break in period, they are really my favorite climbing shoes and enable me to climb 1-2 grades higher than before, plus get into bouldering in an enjoyable fashion. Funny, I ran into a young lady at the local gym that was about to order her 4th, yes 4th, simultaneous pair of Solutions!! I don't know why she thinks she needs that many pairs at the same time; but I'm sure her Gearhead at Backcountry loves her, because she says she gets all her gear here.
