La Sportiva TC Pro Olive Climbing shoes-41.5
Re-Edit of the mid-cut climbing shoe for long mountain tours and crack climbing. This comfortable, protective shoe made of suede leather pays homage to the legendary routes on El Capitan: Freerider by Alex Honnold and The Dawn Wall by Tommy Caldwell. Their routes are embossed in the form of a line on the upper part of the shaft, which is made of chrome-free tanned eco-leather. The TC Pro guarantees maximum comfort even after many hours thanks to the soft lining around the ankle and forefoot area. A special feature of the model is the high cut of the upper, designed to protect the ankle from friction in the cracks. The very wide, continuous rubber rand provides protection in the cracks, while the lacing system at the toe has been specially developed to shield the laces from friction against the rock. The upper and tongue are highly breathable to enhance internal comfort. The TC Pro also utilizes the P3 patent, designed to maintain the shoe's arch shape permanently. The sole made of Vibram XS Edge compound reduces deformation on small footholds and sharp-edged grips. TC Pro: The legacy continues.

I've had the previous version as well. Feels lots stiffer initially than the prev version, however, for some great reason its way easier to break in. After 1-2 sessions it was up 0.5 size. I actually downsized this shoe 0.5 more than the previous generation and it works out. The edging seems a LOT better than prev gen, the rubby is extremely sticky somehow.I haven't had a chance to test in cracks as it's winter time where I live, but the feeling of it and how my toes sit I don't feel an issue.Tongue issue is fixed, no complaints on how the shoe sits and feels. Great upgrade. Was initially worried because the second gen never seems to feel as good as the first, but la sportiva listened and it came out great.

The TC Pros by La Spirtiva are a snuggly fit shoe that mimick the tarantulace quite closely if a little more aggressively. The toe box for me was nice and well fit but i couldnt get around the midfoot pressure that the shoe constrained on my feet. After about 10 minutes in them, I had to take them off, not to toe discomfort, but because my arches were on fire. I do have narrow feet (AA), but this particular pair were fit to a considerably narrower foot than mine. The additional protection around the ankle would be great for crack climbing.

At first I don't like the new TC Pro, but I think it over and since Tommy n Alex redesigned it,I've decided to try the new TC Pro and liking it now.It fits comfortable now and more durable than old TC Pro.I trusted it in weird foot hold and it hold.I wore it for a long time even when I’m belaying my climbing partner and it's fine.I used it to 3 times a week.I hand washed it and it didn't shrink or anything.I want to see how will it perform outdoor.Yeah I trust Tommy and Alex!

I'm always in search of a better, more comfortable climbing shoe. I've tried several. The TC Pros are a hit with my feet. Most comfortable shoe I now use and they perform great. These will work great on those long multipitch climbs. They edge and smear very well. Rubber is very sticky - maybe best I own. Fit is same as my street shoe. I wear 8.5 mens street shoe and size 41 in TC Pro fits great. Toe box is a little large for my skinny feet, but the laces let me sinch them down enough.
this shoe is not for the every day climber I have seen a few people in gyms where this is the only shoe they have and they do not like it. its very specialized for longer multipitch days. the shoe is very stiff so it does not need to be as tight as other shoes. the toe box is also a bit flatter so that only the big toe is squished and the rest have a bit more room. the shoe is designed for long multipitch and trad and does really well at what its meant to do. DO NOT GET AS YOUR ONLY SHOE!order the same size you normally get and they fit slightly larger
Got the pair for outdoor climbing and then shipped out all gym shoes to be resoled & this pair was the only one left at home. Was surprised about the grip and control you get with this shoe. So far climbed by hardest lead routes indoors in this pair of TC. Surprisingly close in performance to my Drago, which is much more aggressive and supposedly way stickier rubber. Smallest holds is not a problem for this shoes.Only one negative so far, the heal is bit looser than I wanted to be for heal hooks. Otherwise love it!
I've owned three pairs of the old model--and they were resoled--so I'm familiar with how the old ones performed. The toe box is stiffer and the neon-green lace protector is actually a rectangle of folded over fabric, forming a two-layered square of fabric. (The old TC Pros, perhaps paradoxically, had a thin rand for sensitivity, even though they were a crack/bigwall shoe. So maybe they made the rand thicker on this version.) The result: the toes seem uncomfortable from the get-go and that neon green fabric, well, you feel the square of it press into your foot like the princess and pea. But I'm not dainty--I prefer off-width. And because I like crack climbing, I get shoes half a size larger than my street shoe. Loose doesn't matter in big crack or in 5.10 trad, so ... MoreI've owned three pairs of the old model--and they were resoled--so I'm familiar with how the old ones performed. The toe box is stiffer and the neon-green lace protector is actually a rectangle of folded over fabric, forming a two-layered square of fabric. So when I say that neon-green flap is *really irritating* when you lace the shoes snug, you should believe me. I buy shoes larger so I can keep them on all day. There's no reason my (slightly) oversized shoes should cause me pain when I'm just standing in them, forcing me to take them off.I didn't give these a chance to break in, so maybe they get better. Maybe they don't. I'll find out when my old TC Pros can't go through another resole. Bring back the shoes we fell in love with.
I love these shoes, and I have a hard time switching to the stack of pairs in my closet. But I also feel that I need to because I burn through these so fast. I purchased these in November and, because of injuries, my climbing has been pretty light. Maybe 2X per week. I'd punched a hole in the toe by March. I don't expect super-strength rubber from any shoe, but 4 months of mileage for shoes that run well north of $200 will make you reconsider. If you've got a Dumpster of cash, or you're sponsored, these shoes can't be beat. Super edgy, comfortable and you can trust them on anything from slabs to cracks.
This is a 6 months post purchase from my old review "Alex Hoonold".6 months and the shoe is still extremely stiff, not the best to be very honest. It's not comfortable. It's good for edging but it's so tight around the toes you lose circulation. Not much stretching. It's not as comfortable as the old ones and I will even go to say they are not as good. I did downsize and I think I would have rather purcashed another pair of the old ones and downsized there. All in all they are just way too stiff and uncomfortable. There hasn't been a session where I didn't lose circulation in my toes. I am hopign they continue to stretch out a bit, esp the toe areas. Read up the reviews on la sportiva website as well, people have same complaints.
Purchased around the end of last winter and have been climbing in and out of the gym with them ever since. Extremely comfortable, and the high top ankle always for more comfort and the ability to avoid those typical scrapes when working on slab projects. My GO-TO climbing shoes for relaxed and extensive climbing, especially multi-pitches. I got my pair in a 9.5 when I typically wear a size 10 in street shoes (vans). A huge supporter of the La Sportiva TC PROs!
