I bought these to replace my textile Ultra Raptor boots that were no longer waterproof. I love the Ultra Raptor fit and have also had several pairs of the trail runners, which are my go to warm weather hikers. I bought the same size as I normally wear, which is the 7.5+. For reference I'm usually a 7 in other brands and these have always been a better fit for me in the larger size. These fit great, with maybe a little more width in the toe than the regular textile version (I haven't tried the wide model). They also have the typical Ultra Raptor comfort. My big problem with these was the soles. The blue Frixion compound on these is harder, presumably for more durability, but they were slippery! Compare the Ultra Raptor trail runners & the textile boots with the white Frixion compound to these. These have light grey nubs on some of the sole cleats where the trail runners and textile boots do not. I took them on a trip to Oregon in December and slid around on the beach rocks quite a bit, but thought it was just me as it was December in Oregon and naturally wet (though I had not had this problem hiking the Lost Coast Trail the year prior with the textile version). But then I took them to Europe in February and almost ate it multiple times on wet cobbled streets in Italy. I've never had this problem with a pair of hiking boots before... occasional slips, yes, but they were so bad that I was afraid of falling and getting hurt in the wet. I was almost unwilling to admit that my favourite hiking boots weren't cutting it, but the people I was with noticed how much my feet were slipping as well! The bottom line is that these are great in the dry, or where you have good craggy rocks for traction... on hiking trails I had no problem. They're super comfortable, have no break in time, and I really liked the leather vs the textile version. My only beef with these is the soles, but it ultimately led to me returning these as I want to feel confident about my footing. The textile version of these boots with the white Frixion compound is much safer on slippery, wet rocks and cobbles.

I went through so many pairs of hiking boots and trail shoes to find the right one for me. I finally got the one and everything is perfect.I wear 7.5 for regular shoes and 8 for hiking boots. I got 39.5 for this pair it's perfect. It's not too stiff and it's not too soft either. It's very light and I use hiking boots for US and Korea both. It's important for me to have good traction so La sportiva is the best choice.

Fits and feels great. Very supportive but does not restrict movement. Looks good too! Tested on local trails. Hope it holds up on our upcoming mountain trek.

I ordered these because I heard this brand runs narrow, and they do which is great. I did go up a half size more than I usually do in my boots. These are nice and light. I’m not sure if the tongue will rub in a way that’s annoying, just started breaking them in, but so far so good
These are very light by comparison to my full leather hiking boots. Fantastic grip on rocks. They feel snug and soft underfoot. Only complaint is the toe box is on a small side not leaving enough room for toes esp going down hill (and yes, I did get the right size). So would recommend proper fitting. Overall great boots.
Super lightweight and seem like great quality. However, show is too narrow and squishing my toes together. Seems like poor design. I was walking long distances I’d expect a shoe with much more space in the toe box and more thought put toward optimal orthopedics.
This is my second pair of La Sportiva Ultra Raptor II GTX boots. I used, abused, and retired my first pair to train and complete the Camino de Santiago French route of more than 800 kilometers (600+ miles) pilgrimage walk through Spain in 28 days. The stories of utilizing the wrong shoes and getting injured and painful blisters was at the forefront. My La Sportiva boots were the perfect partner to get me through this walk without any pain, injuries, or blisters even after breaking my foot 5 months earlier. These boots endured muddy, slippery and wet paths day in and out. When I returned from my walk I had mixed feelings about retiring my boots but they had no traction left over. I purchased another brand to try a Zion hike but these did not feel as comfortable so I ... MoreThis is my second pair of La Sportiva Ultra Raptor II GTX boots. These boots endured muddy, slippery and wet paths day in and out. When I returned from my walk I had mixed feelings about retiring my boots but they had no traction left over. I purchased another brand to try a Zion hike but these did not feel as comfortable so I ended up buying the same brand in a different color. I look forward to a hike in the Norwegian region in August 2024 with my new La Sportiva Boots.
I bought these boots in 2022 and used them less than 10 times. Most days I used the boots the weather was dry. The last time I wore them on a rainy day this past fall, I learned that the waterproofing of these hikers is faulty and spent a long day with wet feet. It’s too bad because aside from the leaks I love everything about these hikers. They are lightweight, for well right out of the box, great grip & great ankle support. I wish this were a 5 star review!
Like the previous reviewer, the sizing seems to be slightly off, but not by much. I went up 1/2 a size. I have found Euro sizing to be more accurate across brands in general where I typically would take a 40, in this case 40.5 fit best. Ultimately, I did not keep these boots because I was concerned they would not hold up for as long as I would like. They are very light weight, and seemingly well constructed, but not "burly" enough to hold up to years of hiking in the mountains of Colorado. I kept more of a mountaineering boot rather than this hybrid boot.
I had contacted La Sportiva prior to purchasing the women's Ultra Raptor II mid leather GTX, and unfortunately, they told me the opposite in terms of sizing. I wish La Sportiva would be consistent in their lasts and sizing. I wear a 39.5 Bushido II. I bought Spire Low and Trail Ridge Low both in 39, but the Spire was half US size too big, whereas the Trail Ridge Low fit perfectly. I was told the Ultra Raptor II was same last as Spire, so since 39 was half size too large, I bought 38.5. When I received, them 38.5 was way too small, toe curling too small. So seems I now need a full size up 39.5, which is the same as the Bushido II. So, be warned that you may want to guage the sizing of Ultra Raptor II mid leather GTX based on your La Sportiva trail running shoe size, ... MoreI had contacted La Sportiva prior to purchasing the women's Ultra Raptor II mid leather GTX, and unfortunately, they told me the opposite in terms of sizing. The men's version doesn't seem to have as dramatic of sizing differential as the women's. Other than that, the boots are just about everything I wanted: leather upper, mid, GTX, sticky rubber, light. The mid size is more like the Merrell Moab mid's which is lower than many other mid hiking boots, which is what I prefer.
