I've always loved this pen. I think it is the best made pen overall of any I have, and I have hundreds. I usually carry about three or four pens with me at all times, and I always...ALWAYS...have a safari in my pen pack. The only thing I'm not 100% on board with is the piston adapters for the Safari. They are a little hard to turn compared to others, but I have never had one leak on me either, so I'll take it the way it is. This order was delivered in a timely fashion and arrived in perfect condition. I have yet to be disappointed with Jet Pens. I'm very happy with the color and the non shiny surface of the pen. I hope they never change it's construction. Best pens on the market.

Classic Safari Color Gets A Second Chance

They are equally great for writing and drawing.Terra is my favorite of the recent safari special edition colors, tied with it’s companion Savanna Green. These two colors were not big hits when the safari launched in 1980 and were quickly discontinued in favor of glossy finishes and less earthy colors. I’m a mail carrier with a walking route and this pen inked with Platinum Carbon Black is my new work horse after years of carrying a Bic Stick without the cap. The clip keeps the pen securely in my breast pocket even when I’m hanging upside down by reaching down into the bottom of a parcel hamper. The matte finish is easy to grip even in sweaty weather and the gray color doesn’t ever look particularly dirty. I’ve already flung it around with the cap on, landing on concrete and scraped up a bit without cracking. I can change the nib if it gets bent. Just have my fingers crossed that the ink won’t freeze in the winter time like gel pens.

It’s a beautiful pen and a special experience
21 August 2023

This was my first ever fountain pen purchase. It is not regularly that your expectations are exceeded. This LAMY Safari is beautiful IRL and, although plastic, does not feel cheap. My handwriting seemed toImprove almost immediately. The weight is ideal and I look forward to all the ink color possibilities since I purchased the converter. Goulet pens packaging makes you feelspecial too. A card from my Rep, Ebonique, was included, a much appreciated touch!

Lamy Safari Fountain Pen Set in White
25 October 2023

This is a really good deal especially with the extra ink cartridges in the various colors.I have a few other Lamy Safari fountain pens and use them for drawing as well as writing -each in a different color and one that has water soluble ink in it instead of waterproof ink.I had requested the white Lamy Safari fountain pen with a fine nib, but what they sentactually has an extra fine nib. So I was surprised when I saw how thin the lines were. Not what I ordered, but I will keep it. That is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Otherwise, a great pen set and a very good value. I think they need to change the description from "fine nib" to "extra fine nib" - which is indicated by ef on the nib itself.

My boss said "Is that a LAMY"?
28 April 2023

I was in my first meeting at my new job talking some notes. There were about 9 people in the meeting and he stopped mid sentence and said "Is that one of those LAMY'S? Then someonevelse said "is that a fountain pen"?Of course I said "Yup, countries Pena are still a thing".My mother have me her fountain pen collection including "The Boss" Mont Blanc, many other popular pens. My first purchase personally were two LAMY'S, and red one with black kont Blanc black ink and a black one with red Pelican Edelstei.I'm so hooked!Thank you.

The Safari has earned its stellar reputation
6 December 2022

Love the pen. I really like the matte finish. The nib (I got a medium) performs perfectly. I got a converter, which doesn’t hold as much ink as the cartridge, but it works well. I also clean and refill cartridges for my Safari and my two AL Stars. I like this pen so much that I bought two (with the sleeves) for Christmas gifts. The snap on cap makes it good for a quick note. The Safari and AL Stars are the pens I carry in my purse. I recommend with no reservations.

To Write Again
16 May 2023

I am 80 years of age. I grew up with that fat pencil beginning to print and then practice the now almost lost art of cursive writing. While I did not excel at cursive, I did not do poorly either.Somewhere it fell by the wayside so I won't place the blame with anything or anyone one but myself. Recently a group of guys I associate myself with mentioned that he had a collection of pens, LAMY and others. He asked a question, when is the last time your wrote with a fountain pen?Anyway, it gave me thought, and he mentioned that LAMY makes some fine pens, reasonably priced and I did exactly that, mainly to see if I still could write where you could read it and of course, possibly improve some of those old skills. With email, cell phones, messages etc. there is no ... MoreI am 80 years of age. But you never know when it might come in handy. LAMY provides a great entranceway back into writing if you so wish. I am pleased with their basic pen and am about to find out about different nibs just to see what develops. I must add their (LAMY) packaging is unique and well done. Assembly is literally a snap and then you are free to return to the lost world of cursive. Best wishes to you on your journey.

What a pretty blue!
21 April 2023

This is such a pretty blue pen! I love the Lamy Safar. I like it even more than the Al-Star. Maybe it is because they can make better colors in the plastic Safari. Who knows, who cares? The fact is, I love the grip. I can grab the pen and without looking to see if I am holding it with the nib up, I know I am because of the triangular grip. The pen writes so very nicely with any size of nib I have. I use M, B, 1.1, 1.5 nibs) . I never have hard starts or skipping. Really! And the pen is comfortable for long and short writing sessions. It posts easily if I choose to do so. The pen is really easy to clean. I admit to having many of them. And I use them. This blue is very soft and spring-like. The pink and green are equally lovely. Wow! Even better than I expected!
13 June 2023

I had read enough about the LAMY Safari to know it was a very nice pen, but the first stroke of pen on paper almost brought tears to my eyes. It was like writing on air. Now, for reference, I own a very high end Mont Blanc and mid-range Sheaffer Targa and a couple of Parker 75s, all of which are beautiful writers. But, as delightful as they all are, I do not recall any of them giving me such a warm and fuzzy feeling on the very first contact with paper. Writing with the Safari is like writing with butter! The feed is great, too. I bought this one with M nib because I have never cared for any fine nibs I have tried, but I find the M so smooth I had to buy a fine just to see how it feels on the Safari. The diameter is a little larger than I expected, about normal for ... MoreI had read enough about the LAMY Safari to know it was a very nice pen, but the first stroke of pen on paper almost brought tears to my eyes. I bought this one with M nib because I have never cared for any fine nibs I have tried, but I find the M so smooth I had to buy a fine just to see how it feels on the Safari. The diameter is a little larger than I expected, about normal for most fountain pens, but they just looked a little slimmer in pictures. Do not get me wrong, I prefer a pretty standard mid-size girth and love the feel of the Safari. This was just an observation.I especially love the clip design. I am retired and long-sleeve t-shirts are pretty much my daily "uniform". With no pocket, I have to clip my pen in the neck of my t-shirt. Some clips are difficult to get clipped on and some, especially Parker's "arrow" clips can be a hassle to get off because the "barbs" on the arrowheads get caught. The nice wide, rounded Safari clip slips right on and off while still maintaining a snug, secure grip.I like the first Safari so much I ordered one of the special addition (from a few years ago) violets plus a few nibs for my daughter who likes fountain pens also and wants to play around with calligraphy. Then I was jealous so I ordered a one of the Mangos from that special edition class so we can swap caps and bodies now and then to have LSU purple and gold pens!
