I am a serum junkie I was so excited to give Lancôme Advanced Génifique Serum a try. Its main active ingredient is 10% Bifidus Prebiotic (aka 10 percent bifida ferment lysate.) Plus, it happens to be one of the brand’s top sellers. The serum’s main ingredient is actually what got my attention in the first place as I remember it from when I was doing many more steps- but I do remember I I was beyond impressed with its ability to rapidly fade hyperpigmentation marks and brighten my overall complexion — it was the first time people actually complimented me on my skin. As someone with well-behaved skin, for the most part, I’m still prone to dehydration, hyperpigmentation, and the occasional dull spell or congested pores. As someone with well-behaved skin, for the most part, I’m still prone to dehydration, hyperpigmentation, and the occasional dull spell or congested pores. Breakouts aren’t a major issue for me other than the occasional hormonal party crasher, which usually ends up leaving a dark spot on its way out, regardless of whether I pick or not. I’m not too fussy about retinol or Botox yet, I use both but not religiously. I am on a multi-step program in my skin-care routine. Double-cleansing, toner, moisturizer, and sunscreen are always in the mix, but I’ll often go rogue with serums and treatments — I’m 44 trying to keep my skin looking great. Anyway, while in the midst of a meh skin spell, replete with tired-looking skin around my eyes, dull texture, and a couple of post-blemish marks taking their sweet time on the way out, I added the Advanced Génifique Youth Activating Serum to my morning and evening routine, tucked in between my toner and moisturizer steps. The self-loading dropper makes it easy to dose out each application. The serum itself feels like a silky liquid; it’s quite lightweight, spreads easily, and absorbs quickly — no sticky feeling afterward. I did notice that my skin did feel considerably more quenched right after applying it, though. My eye cream and moisturizer seemed to apply more easily on top of it. (Are serums actually a bit like primers for moisturizer? Perhaps.) After following this routine for a week — seven days, if you want to get specific — I noticed that my skin felt plumper and more hydrated, like it had gone on some wellness retreat without me, returning slightly changed and with a subtle glow up that spoke either of a life of extreme comfort or else a newly acquired secret. My skin suddenly had the smug confidence of someone with a winning hand in poker. I guess it only takes seven days for my skin to develop a superiority complex. If a sense of mystery is attractive in a woman, my skin is basically Carmen Sandiego after using this serum for one week. I understand why Lancôme offers so many size options for this serum on its website. There are five sizes to choose from, in varying price points — I can’t think of any other skin-care brands that would bother divvying up one product into five different size options. The smallest size at 0.67 ounces is $52. The largest size is 3.4 ounces, and that’s $178. So you’ve got options beyond wearing a rotating set of disguises to cop multiple free samples at the Lancôme counter.

I received this product for free from Influenster and Lancome in exchange for my honest review. I wanted to use this product for as long as possible before writing my review so I could really give it a chance before deciding how I felt about it. So I had to use it every other day or every two days to prevent irritation. I am also not very fond of fragrance/fragrant components in my skin care products. Some can be irritating to the skin or they just don't have a pleasant smell, but the smell of this product was pretty faint. Other than those two things the ingredients in this serum are pretty great, which is why I thought I would like it. I did find that it brightened my skin tone a bit, but that's all it did as far as benefits go, and for the price they are asking I feel like this product should do way more! There is no reason what so ever that this product should cost that much money. It's insane, and it's not the ingredients that cost that much... Bifida ferment lysate is big in K-Beauty and the products that use it are not this expensive. There is one serum I use that has almost all of the good ingredients this product has, and more. It has 88% Bifida Ferment Lysate as the first ingredient on the list, compared to the 10% the Lancome serum has, as the second ingredienton the list, after water (ingredients go from highest % first to lowest % last) plus the other serum has other fermented probiotic ingds. It also has no drying alcohols and no fragrances. It also has copper tripeptide 1, acetyl hexapeptide-8 and other peptides, and a lot of other beneficial and hydrating ingredients. The formulation, texture and the way it goes on and sinks into your skin is much better than the Lancome serum, and the 50ml bottle costs only $18-$25 depending where you buy it. I have seen much better results without the irritation for a fraction of the price of this serum. All that said, I will finish the bottle because I don't like to waste products, but I will not purchase this in the future. If you like this serum and can afford it then great, but if you can't afford it and feel like you are missing out, don't! I suggest you look into some k-beauty products from brands like Isntree, Manyo, Rovectin and many others on the StyleKorean or Stylevana websites... The k-beauty products are amazing quality and the pricing is even better!

First off the packaging is very expensive looking and the applicator with the push dispenser is amazing. Every time you close the bottle the applicator draws up more serum. I just assumed in the beginning that was the correct amount to apply for was each use. I was wrong. You only need about a dime sized amount for each application. I spent the first 2 days with a very tacky face before it dawned on me that I was using too much product. Initially I was concerned about this product containing a Vitamin C derivative. Prior to this use, I was using Biossance Rose Moisturizer which contains Vitamin C and after some research I thought I had linked at ingredient to the reason why my makeup would flake off easily. Once I discontinued that product my makeup laid down seamlessly and flawlessly. This product was the opposite of that. With the addition of the Lancôme Advanced Génifique Serum, my makeup appearance improved. While my initial makeup application always looked great, after 8-10 hours, my foundation would always flake and look patchy around my skin and nose. This serum prevented that from happening. While using this product, I stopped using other treatment products and only used a moisturizer with this serum so that I wouldn’t skew any results or mix products that would affect the outcome of this serum. This serum claims that it tightens the look of skin, while visibly reducing fine lines for a healthy and more radiant skin in just 7 days. After 18 days of usage, I think my skin looks overall hydrated and as previously stated it made my makeup look better and last longer. I haven’t seen any markedly improved results regarding fine lines. I have quite a bit of acne scarring on my chin, and didn’t see any improvement there (not that I thought this serum could reverse scarring—but worth mentioning). Overall, I really do like this serum. Influenster gave me a 100ml bottle (worth $134!!) and I plan on continuing using it until it’s gone. Honestly, due to the improved appearance of my makeup, I most likely will repurchase this product even though the price point is a little higher than most serums.

This is my first experience with a Lancome product, and I am beyond pleased. I have been using this product for approximately three weeks in order to form a thorough opinion. First things first..as someone in their mid-thirties, finding effective anti-aging skincare is a priority for me. I first began my serious skincare journey about three years ago and have tried many things I liked that became staples in my routine, and other items that weren't effective for me whatsoever. I knew the odds would be about 50/50 before trying this product. The first thing that I noticed about this product was the applicator. Yes, it's a glass dropper like many others, but this one does something unique. When you twist the lid off, you will notice the signature Lancome emblem on the top of the lid, rising up and the dropper is already full. It dispenses the product for you without the need to squeeze the dropper and potentially introduce air into the bottle. When you are finished and you twist the lid back on, you will see the emblem lowering, thus filling the dropper for the next use. I have never come across such a brilliant dispensing method. The bottle that the serum comes in has that heavy, luxurious feel, and the smoky black/gray blending of the bottle color is aesthetically pleasing to me. The serum itself has a light consistency but it isn't overly runny. Furthermore, there's no overpowering smell and the product sinks into my skin quickly without feeling sticky. This is important to me as I believe it's more effective for a serum to sink into my skin quickly rather than just sitting on top. After three weeks of using this serum both morning and night, I am amazed at the results. Not only does my skin appear brighter and my lines less noticeable, but my skin looks hydrated and almost bouncy. Prior to incorporating this serum into my routine, my skin had the tendency to look tired and dull regardless of any exfoliation and moisturization efforts. I cannot imagine NOT using this serum at this point as I feel more beautiful and confident in my skin. While the price point might seem a bit steep ($132 on Sephora), I believe it is absolutely worth the cost as a little goes a long way. The amount that is dispensed is enough to adequately cover my face, my neck, and even a little of my decollete! If you can, make the splurge and work this into your skincare routine. You won't regret it.

The Lancome Advanced Genifique Serum is an excellent face serum. I wouldn't say that it has any particular targets other than blurring fine lines on your face and giving you more radiant skin by almost brightening it from below the outer surface. I really liked this serum for a couple of reasons. First, the bottle design is just ingenious. I love how the dropper allows me to dispense the perfect amount onto my skin, though you could opt to use less since the serum is very spreadable. I also like how it locks when you twist the bottle closed. Next is the serum itself. It has a light floral, powdery scent, which I do not mind and actually find to be quite soothing, especially when I apply it in the morning. However, though it is not strong, it might bother some people if you are sensitive to scented skincare products. I also really like the consistency because it is not oily and actually feels a little more like a gel, which I like. I don't enjoy putting greasy stuff on my face, so I was glad to see that this product wasn't greasy at all. As I mentioned earlier, it is very spreadable, so if you want to use less than what the dropper picks up, you can. The only minor issue was that some of the results of this serum were not visible. My skin definitely became softer and more plump after using this serum for a few weeks, but I didn't find much change in my fine lines. However, it would definitely be added to my main skincare routine in the winter since it is quite hard to find non-oily or greasy serums that can properly moisturize my skin. One bottle of this serum is quite pricey, but you can choose to use only a small amount each time, so I can see this bottle lasting someone for quite some time. Give it a try!

I was very excited to try this product, and as soon as I received the "you're in" notification, I jumped onto Lancôme's website to look at the ingredients...and to my surprise, denatured alcohol was the 4th ingredient on the list. Now, I believe the star ingredients in this formula are bifida ferment lysate and glycerin, and that the denat. alcohol acts as the vehicle to transport these ingredients into the deeper skin layers. And the reason I think you can see fairly quick results is because denat. alcohol does indeed do an excellent job with delivering, however I'm very skeptical about the percentage of denat. alcohol in this (we don't really know) and if it will have negative long-term effects on my skin. Lancôme has marketed this serum toward people with dry skin types and fine lines, as well as people looking for skin barrier support...which is all kind of contrary to what we know denat. alcohol does. So I'm not going to lie to you, I am a little worried. As it follows, I truly thought I would immediately be dealing with dry skin and a disrupted skin barrier, however I was pleasantly surprised when after 1 week I did see a reduction in my fine lines, I have not seen a negative effect to my skin barrier, or any cause of irritation for that matter. It left my skin feeling hydrated and semi-glowy without being greasy looking or feeling too tacky. But I cannot for the life of me give this serum a perfect score because I know what some of these ingredients can do long-term, and I worry a little about what will happen when I stop using this serum. So I'm torn, as there are clear-cut positives and negatives with this product. I will continue to use this serum alongside my other products and will update this review if I find any changes to my current reults. My overall thoughts are that this is a good serum, I very much enjoy its consistency and the application experience, the packaging is beautiful and I love that it is in a dark, heavy glass bottle (prevents the serum from breaking down due to environemental exposures). I also like that the dropper picks up and dispenses the correct amount so that I'm not applying more than necessary (1 pump for face and 1 pump for neck and décolleté). The formula doesn't irritate my skin despite the denat. alcohol and minimal fragrance (I believe it is just a masking fragrance as it doesn't have a defining scent), I have seen quite positive results in the short-term (I've been using it for about 2 weeks), and as a result of using this serum it has greatly peaked my interest with regards to the ingredient bifida ferment lysate. I am 100% going to look for that ingredient in a future skincare purchase, but one that has a different delivery system. I hope more than anything that Lancôme updates their some-what dated formulas, for this product and any of their other formulas that contain dent. alcohol high up on the ingredients list. I think they have good direction with this product, but I think it can be better executed, and I hope to some day see a reformulation of this product as I believe they can figure out how to make it even better, both for the short-term and long-term benefits and without the potentially harmful drawbacks. Given the myriad of advances that have been made in the skincare industry over the last decade and with skincare consumers becoming more educated than ever, I hope that Lancôme takes these changes as their cue to come out with higher quality formulations that are worth the luxury price tag. If you are reading this lengthy review, you can probably tell that I am one of those people that has educated myself on ingredients and has created a passion for skincare. Over the last decade I have transformed my skin, and it is now better in my mid 30s than it was in my mid 20s and it's exclusively due to choosing to be a student of skincare. So I encourage you to do the same if you want to see those changes in your own skin. I will absolutely repurchase this serum IF Lancôme reformulates this product, and I will look into their other skincare product lines to see what other formulations they've created. *I received this product from Influenster and Lancôme free for testing purposes. My opinions are my own based on my experience with testing this product and knowledge of its ingredients.

A hydrating serum!

I received this product from Influenster in exchange for my honest review. Influenster only required me to test this product for 7 days, but I wanted to give this serum a more honest review so today is day 18 of me using it twice daily in the morning and evening. I took two photos (Day 1 and Day 18) so that users could make their own judgements in addition to my own personal opinion. The Before picture is me wearing the red shirt.First off the packaging is expensive and the applicator with the push dispenser is amazing. Every time you close the bottle the applicator draws up more serum. I just assumed in the beginning that was the correct amount to apply for was each use. I was wrong. Every time you close the bottle the applicator draws up more serum. I just assumed in the beginning that was the correct amount to apply for was each use. I was wrong. You only need about a dime sized amount for each application. I spent the first 2 days with a very tacky face before it dawned on me that I was using too much product.Initially I was concerned about this product containing a Vitamin C derivative. After 18 days of usage I think my skin looks overly hydrated and makes my makeup look better and last longer.

Helped my skin but price is crazy!

I have been using this serum for a month now twice per day - once in the morning and once in the evening. It goes great under my makeup and does not pill or make my foundation or concealor do anything funny. It pairs well with my other serums and moisturizers too. It truly has helped my texture and dullness. After using it for 2 weeks, I didn't think it was doing much..until one night I was touching my face and realized how smooth and soft my skin was. I got up right away and looked closely at my skin in the mirror. Still a bit taken aback, I looked for some 2-3 week old pictures in my phone just to compare and there really was a difference. I wouldn't say its a HUGE, life changing difference, but it has made my skin more radiant, smooth and soft. It is hard for me ... MoreI have been using this serum for a month now twice per day - once in the morning and once in the evening. I wouldn't say its a HUGE, life changing difference, but it has made my skin more radiant, smooth and soft. It is hard for me to justify the price point with what it does, so for that I will dock a star. The serum is a milky color, not too thin, not too thick. My skin really loved it and soaked it right up. There isn't too much of a scent to it, but if there is, it isn't that noticeable to me.I really like the idea of the dropper mechanism and it works well, BUT.. the instructions say to use one full dropper and that the dropper picks up the "perfect" amount of product... I do not think that is true and with the price point, you definitely don't want to be using as much as the dropper picks up. I only use half of the amount that it picks up and it is more than enough for my face and neck. This is the first Lancome product that I have tried out thanks to Influenster and Lancome for giving me the opportunity to test it in exchange for my honest review...and with that said, this is really my honest review of it. I know how I bypass reviews that state it is "incentivized" because most of the time there are alot of people who don't really review said item and just post words to get through the review process, so I can only imagine what others feel when reading this one. Can't say I'd buy this again purely due to the price.

my new favorite staple in my skincare routine

Starting with my first impression alone, the legendary reputation of Lancome's expertise and quality skincare is enough to draw my interest in this serum, not to mention the beautiful bottle that demands a spot on my vanity. Then the quality of dispenser is one of my favorite details too, as silly as that might sound.. The botton you use in the top of the cap to assist you in pulling up the perfect measurement of precious serum in the dropper is the icing on the cake as far as the packaging is concerned. As for the serum itself, I think this is my absolute favorite serum out of all the multitudes I have used so far. It feels instantlyhydrating without being greasy. As for the serum itself, I think this is my absolute favorite serum out of all the multitudes I have used so far. It feels instantlyhydrating without being greasy. My skin soaks it up and becomes plump and glowing - I honestly noticed improvements in appearance right away. My skin looks healthier, smoother, more plump and hydrated, and after several days of use I really did see a beautiful glow. I love how this also has prebiotic and I do think my skin barrier has been strengthed, and my sensitive skin has become less irritable after consistent use of this serum. I know this product is not a bargain, but the serum doesn't require you to use a lot at once to see results, a little goes a long way. It also wears well under daily moisturizer and makeup. I think I will be using this all the time as part of my skincare regimen and I will be recommending it to my family and friends too. Definitely worth trying it out to see if you are as happy with the results as I am! I love it! I did receive this as a gift in exchange for my honest review, and I'm so thankful I got to discover how amazing it is and now need it in my life daily
