This is still (pun intended) a classic laphroaig peated malt but with an extra depth. Feels and tastes like a cask strength, but without the ‘heat’. Definitely more woody, a slight tinge of cinnamon tree bark bark from the sherry cask-feels like something to bring out for Christmas. I also had a dram of lagavullin 16 at the same time and this was noticeably denser in peated flavor and character. More concentrated than the laphroaig quarter cask. Is it worth $80? Idk, depends on how much you love laphroaig and peated malts…If you’re an average single malt drinker, maybe not so much….if you can taste the difference between laphroaig quarter cask, select, lore, lagavullin 8 and 16, all of the bruichlaichs, then yes you need to buy and try it.

Ever since they made the "Friends" batch that year (don't recall which year) with the Sherry barrels included I've wished I could get another bottle. Reminds me of that one...which I would say is kind of like a their 10 year or even the Lore product with a Sherry accent.

Great new expression from Laphroaig. Classic TCP, bandaid Laphroaig smoke/peat with deep sherry notes and spice. If you like Laphroaig you will love it. Not sure its worth double the price of the standard Laphroaig 10. $60ish would be better.

I've been a fan of the 10yr for a while now. The Sherry Oak finish might just be better. Still has that tattoo parlor smell and on the palate, it is a bit sweeter than the 10yr but I enjoy it. Only draw back for me is, I don't think it's worth an extra $25! For that, I'll stick with the 10 yr. It's pretty tasty, don't get me wrong. If you don't own it, you should. I just don't think I'd buy a 2nd bottle for the price.
All I can say is WOW. Hands down one of my new favorites. Still has the smoke, peat and saltiness you want from Laphroaig, but with a subtle sweetness. Personally, I had sweet on the tongue at first - followed by the classic Laphroaig smoke and peat. New staple in my bar!
This expression has the perfect balance of sweet sherry and laphroaig’s signature peat. It’s absolutely fantastic!
I was excited to give this whisky a shot, but to my palette, the sherry did some odd things to the typical flavor of Laphroaig 10. The sherry combined with the medicinal notes to remind me of cherry cough syrup. This flavor was front and center for me, and drowned out the earthy qualities that I love in Laphroaig. It's not a bad whisky, really, it's just not the assortment of flavors that I'm looking for.
Not what i expexted with strong oak finish and very little sherry notes. It wasn't my flavor notes as i'm a more heavy peat and smoke fan. The oak was overpowering in my opinion.
Laphroaig single malt scotch is the best premium single malt sold. The Sherry Oak Finish single malt adds a distinct rich presence with just a hint of sherry to complete the experience.
Excellent aroma and flavor. A dangerously good sipping whisky.
