This is a new expression of Laphroaig for me. My favourite tipple is the meaty/peaty 10 year old, but the Select Cask puts this malt right up rhere. Still peaty but with less meat. A smoother drop, slightly oily to the taste, and quite delicious. This malt will be added to my go-to selection.
Lovely tasting - unique and enjoyable
Don't listen to noobs that say it's too smokey and reminds them of an ashtray, they have no idea and wouldnt no a good Islay drop of it fell on their head. This is truly a classic and is the closest scotch you'll get to Ardbeg and Lagavulin which are 1st and 2nd on the list.
Laphroaig is one of my favourite Scotches. I was introduced to Laphroaig when living overseas in a cold country. I haven’t tried it yet now I’m back in Australia.
Bought this having no idea about scotches but looked at reviews on another site. Was really disappointed. It remi d's me of an ashtray the smell that comes off it.. alot of people rave on about this but I'm not a fan
