what a perfect blend of coffee! dialed in on my first shot! for those who are sick of the current 3rd wave 'acidic' coffee crap trend out there, this is the coffee for you, where coffee actually tastes like coffee and not like some beverage with 'fruity' notes of random fruits such as 'stonefruit' or 'grapefruit'. if I wanted notes of such fruits that I wouldn't even normally pick up even for free, I would buy those fruits and squeeze myself a jug of juice! who the heck buys coffee beans, grinds them, pulls a shot on their thousand dollar machines, just to taste notes of fruits?? boggles the mind that this ridiculous 3rd wave coffee nonsense has gripped the coffee world by the neck, where every single cup of coffee from every cafe out there tastes sour, oops sorry I ... Morewhat a perfect blend of coffee! dialed in on my first shot! for those who are sick of the current 3rd wave 'acidic' coffee crap trend out there, this is the coffee for you, where coffee actually tastes like coffee and not like some beverage with 'fruity' notes of random fruits such as 'stonefruit' or 'grapefruit'. if I wanted notes of such fruits that I wouldn't even normally pick up even for free, I would buy those fruits and squeeze myself a jug of juice! who the heck buys coffee beans, grinds them, pulls a shot on their thousand dollar machines, just to taste notes of fruits?? boggles the mind that this ridiculous 3rd wave coffee nonsense has gripped the coffee world by the neck, where every single cup of coffee from every cafe out there tastes sour, oops sorry I meant 'acidic', 'bright' or 'fruity'. This is one of the best all-around blends from Lavazza. smooth and not bitter. not a dark oily roast. perfect for cappuccino and espresso. if you like a very bold and stout taste, try another roast. plenty crema on the top. no wonder it is so popular. the aroma is spectacular in itself. I have used practically all this brand has to offer and this is at the top of my list. packaging is good and freshness is excellent. only downside is that I want to drink more than I should. doesn't give me the jitters so I think it is a low acid roast. that's a good thing.

Quality:Not too fresh. Roasted in 2023, use by date in 2025. Quite an optimistic 2 year duration for 'freshness'.Taste:Low acidity. But nothing interesting.Ironically for a coffee that's meant to give good crema, there's not much of it. By the way I have a better than average home expresso machine that has always given great crema with a fresh roast. This coffee is actually more suitable for pour-overs. Taste decent when drunk black this way.

Best tasting readily-available coffee I buy worldwide...
4 March 2024

I work in many countries and live in both Asia and Canada, which means that finding consistently good coffee for my espresso machines at home is not always easy. I have tried many many brands over the years and practically all of the Lavazza and Segafredo choices but I've remained a fan of the Lavazza Super Crema for many years and recommend it: it's a well-balanced blend, not too bitter and very smooth. The type of coffee that everyone f your guests will like. coupled with amazingly fast delivery from Coffee Supplies Direct which made it possible for me to stock up during a business trip and voilĂ ! Perefect combination.

Does what it promotes and is a great late relaxing espresso
21 April 2023

It delivers the crema for sure. It's also a very pleasant double espresso for late evening. It has a balanced flavor with hints of chocolate and milk. For those hard-core espresso-only drinkers who despise throwing anything but a small amount of water into their beans and turn up their noses to lattes, et alia, this is a nice 'cheat'. It's not the classic espresso you drink in Italy - robust, muscle, hard-hitting, slight acid, and energizing. It's an easy going espresso which suits a dessert and early trip to bed afterwards. It's a perfect contrast to Danesi Classic Espresso whole beans which I put in the "you're in Italy when you are drinking it" experience. I usually drink the Danesi Classic, but I thoroughly enjoy the Lavazza Super Crema as a departure from ... MoreIt delivers the crema for sure. Fantastic beans and great service!
20 March 2023

Fantastic beans and great service! Ordering was easy, product arrived as expected and on time. These beast are amazing! Using a Breville Barista Express to make amazing coffee drinks. The crema produced by these beans is always top notch. This is well balanced product that produces a delicious, rich and creamy espresso every time! I've tried many other beans and find that the Super Crema beans are the most forgiving. Technique is an important factor in getting the best outcomes and consistency but these beans help compensate for my lack of perfect technique. Highly recommended for both the novice and more experienced home batista. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

Globalization….I know I’m being petty.
12 June 2024

I am a huge fan of Lavazza, having lived in Torino and always enjoying Lavazza there while being very happy to find it in the US since moving back i. 97’, I still find it to be the best Italy has to offer. Lavazza has become global and my bags of Super Crema were roasted and packed in a US facility. Gone is the made in Italy declaration and the guarantee that I am getting coffee Italians crafted and would drink. The coffee is still excellent, don’t get me wrong, but for one who has seen first hand the passions of Italian craftsmanship, I can’t help but think the best selection of beans from around the world will end up in Torino. Visually, the small uniform beans (while distinguishing different beans from specific blends) I would see, that are still present in brands like Danesi from Rome, seem to be gone to my eyes, but again, I am being petty. I do love my purchase, but I would rather have an old bag of beans roasted by Italians in an established historical factory than a fresh bag of US roasted coffee, regardless of modern quality controls and global bean selection, it’s the people who do the final process that have that passion and know it’s more than a job that matters to me. For example, if Antimo Caputto, who grinds their flours on the oldest mill stones slowly and precisely were to globalize production and tell me that their flour milled in Kansas was the same, I would have to stop buying Caputto flour, it would not be the same. I was raised where D.O.P. and D.O.C. were revered. It is good to know that the 6 bags of Gold Filtro I also purchased for my spouses dirty water was still roasted and packaged in Torino.WLL is still the best company to deal with and again, the espresso this blend produces is still very superior in taste to many out there. You won’t be disappointed unless you let your snobby side take over like I did.

Horrible, Roasted and Packaged in USA
17 April 2024

The last shipment we got was Horrible. All packages. We were puzzled and disappointed and then we saw it was not made in Italy as it used to be, (we've been ordering and enjoying it for years), but it was roasted and packaged in US. When I asked why, the answer was: "Its origin is still Italy". Well, we know it's not grown there, not roasted or packaged. Then what origin? Too bad people are satisfied with yet another lesser quality product.

Lives up to the reviews!
31 October 2023

I purchased these beans on the strength of previous reviews, and they aren't kidding, folks. We like a smooth but robust coffee that delivers a nice crema, and honestly there are many that can fill that bill. This one, however, stands above the rest. Our local beanery delivers up a truly nice blend, but I keep coming back to the Lavazza Super Crema because it is just that much better. I try to shop local, so this just has to be a guilty pleasure.

Whoa!
14 November 2023

I read this is a great coffee choice for the Jura machines. I ordered 3 bags to get free shipping. Price worked out to about $20 a bag. A bit pricey, but for a great product, why not? I get the coffee a week later thinking they were 1 lb. bags, bags are huge. 2.2 lbs each! Whoa! Called whole Lotta Love customer service dude was so chill he’s like just throw the ones you aren’t using in the freezer, haven’t looked back. Just received my second 3 bag order. Very pleased. Thank you for buyers rewards as well! Thx, Sean
