Le Creuset Classic Pepper Mill - Coastal Blue

I loves that this had a gradient color from an almost orange-red to a darker red. Washing and filling it were easy enough. My only qualm with it was that it didnt work very well at first. Hardly anything came out, so I would loosen the top screw, and then huge chunks of peppercorns came out. It doesnt make a very audible grinding sound like the wooden one I have either. That said, after some trial and error the mill works fine, and is a gorgeous addition to my kitchen. I bought the matching caps to keep the counter free of ground pepper, and am pleased with it. It IS plastic. So if you are expecting some heft, look elsewhere. I bought it on sale, but not sure I would pay retail for it...will update if I change my mind.

Awful Product

I bought a pair of these to replace my (similar looking) Cole and Mason mills (which were great except that, being made of steel, the salt mill became corroded, which ruined the finish).Yes, they're attractive, they're made of plastic (so no corrosion) and they have ceramic grinders. But they just don't force the salt or pepper into the grinder, as a result of which they don't actually work. The pepper mill is better than the salt mill, but even that needs a regular shake to actually get peppercorns into the grinder.Avoid.

I had an issue with the first pepper grinder that I bought but, with the amazing customer service that Linen Chest has they looked after it so very well !!! Rita and the rest of the service team are top notch and you could not ask for a better team to look after you!!! The replacement works fine and I am very happy with both the salt as well as the pepper grinders I have . . . I know if I have a problem with an order it will be looked after . . . Horrible. Dont buy.

First, they were plastic and cheap feeling. Not the expected brand name quality. Second, the do not work well and it is just getting worse. Third, the size is too small for hands larger than a womans S/M. My husband will not use them. Fourth, they get super slippery with any moisture on the outside. Disappointing buy. Wish I could return them. Do not waste your money.

Intentionally Selected Different Wood Tones

The grinders work fine. My previous set were glass and could discern at a glance pepper from salt. This set only has a small P and S on the top of the knob. I intentionally selected two different wood tones at the Le Crueset store, the darker I know is pepper, the lighter is salt.

Look good and work well!

Both Salt and Pepper units are grinders. Both work perfectly. They are on the small side so are perfect for use on the table. They are expensive but I have never been disappointed when buying quality. These are no exception. Very happy. Love them and would buy again!

Salt and Pepper Mills

The Salt and Pepper mills look amazing. Aesthetically I would give them a 10/10. The issue is that they leak salt and pepper all over the place when not in use. You absolutely have to have something below them otherwise they make a mess. For this reason I’m not too happy with them.

Salt and Pepper Mills and Spoon Rest

Love the color. Can’t recall the name but it is the lighter green. Spoon rest is nice and more user friendly then the one I had. This spoon rest is flat so it’s a good design as far as ease of use. The mills are a totally different story. Again love the green color but DOES NOT grind pepper worth a darn. Look nice as a decoration next to my stove. Wanted to return them but get this….take a picture of the problem….. how do you take a picture and send to them to show what the issue is ???? Does not grind peppercorns!! You figure out what the issue is as a picture will show nothing!!! Do not buy the mills.. The salt mill gives very, very fine dust so not what I wanted either.Two stars only because I like the color and the spoon rest is useful.

Very pleasantly surprised

I just bought a Le Creuset salt and pepper mill set. I was a little apprehensive as there were a fair number of online reviews complaining that the pepper mill doesn't do a coarse grind and I was unable to road-test before buying, but I ordered them anyway after some consideration because honestly, they are gorgeous. I'm posting this review because I think that it needs to be said - both mills exceeded my expectations. Operating them is smooth and easy compared to our old, clunky, wooden pepper mill (replaced as it splintered when dropped on the floor for the hundredth time), and they feel a lot more solid than I expected from a plastic mill body. Worked well for a year

The Marseille blue salt and pepper mills are beautiful and worked really well initially but the thread has worn on the pepper mill screw top and now the cap falls off and the mill is unusable. Luckily my online receipt is still to hand so I am in the process of sorting out a replacement, but I was surprised to see that there are several other reviews with the same issue. I do not now have confidence that this pepper mill will last, but at least there is a 10-year guarantee so if this happens again, I will look to replace it with a completely different pepper mill. I am giving it one star because I do not expect a Le Creuset product to break after such a short time.
